Yeah, MKG is our best perimeter defender, skinny calves and all.
Don't want to get rid of him.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
As others have said management is in love with MKG. If we give up Zeller I wouldn't be upset. But it would be a waste of a pick last year to give up on Zeller right now.The Buzz is Back in the Queen City. Cho........I have no idea what you are going to do in this draft man.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
LeBron on the other hand, I think he knows he's staying in Miami for at least this year. I honestly think going through this whole free agent process is more a case of him trying to hold teams hostage in a sense to benefit Miami.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I don't think it would matter which of the two was labeled a SG or SF. MKG would defend the better player or bigger mismatch on the other team, and Hayward would get more of the shots offensively.. Idk if calling either of then a SG or SF would really matter..
But I don't think they have much to offer Utah that would convince them to let him walk. Plus with Taylor back and adding Hairston I think it would make more sense for them to go after a more tradition shooting guard. Hayward is somewhat both, like a Pual George type player. In their case I think finding a quicker guy, with a more consistent shot might be more beneficial.
Might be easier for them to land a guy like Wes Matthews.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I think Lebron knows he's staying in Miami. I think all this stuff about him, Bosh, and Wade not being on the same page is complete BS, and it's all just to protect the Heat from anybody investigating tampering or collusion.
Melo is probably pretty sure what he wants to do by now. I think most of this tour has been to feed his ego, and it's really always been between New York and Chicago.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
This is unrelated to the discussion at hand because I know the Hornets aren't about to offer a max for Heyward, but if the Cavs rumored max offer had been legit instead of being made up, do you think the Jazz would've matched it?Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Per Woj:
All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony probed New York Knicks management on the franchise's plan to restore a contending roster and left his final free-agency meeting largely aligned with president Phil Jackson's vision, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Anthony had direct questions for Jackson and coach Derek Fisher during a Thursday meeting in Los Angeles, and Anthony's increased confidence with the Knicks' direction – which includes a maximum contract offer of five years and $129 million – has strengthened the franchise's chances of re-signing Anthony, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
For Anthony, 30, there could be enough doubt about the possibilities in Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles to make leaving Madison Square Garden and a guaranteed $30 million more too risky of a proposition.
As one official involved in the recruiting process told Yahoo, "He just wants to feel like he's not all alone on the court."
In the meeting that included general manager Steve Mills, Jackson dispelled doubts that he was indifferent about Anthony staying with the Knicks, sources said. New York officials have made it clear to Anthony that they need him on the roster to have a chance to attract star players in free agency, sources said. After a week of franchises fawning over him during recruiting trips to Chicago, Houston, Dallas and the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony needed to hear that enthusiasm out of the Knicks' top management – and of course needed that max contract extension made available to him.
Privately, Anthony has told people that he plans to take the holiday weekend to make a decision.#RespectTheCultureComment

He doesn't want to feel all alone on the court yet he'll take a max contract with them? That will surely solve that problem!Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I'll go one further, because of the nature of your posts on this I'm really hoping he stays in NY. All these guys ever do is say what they know fans wanna hear. You shouldn't invest yourself so heavily in your perception of what he's said.
That's gotta be bad for your health man.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Well that quote wasn't him per say who said that but it should've been he doesn't want to feel like he had to carry the entire team alone IN NEW YORK which is where he said he really wanted to be in the first place.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
You cite him saying he wants to win but ignore the countless times he's said he LOVES NY and will do whatever it takes to build a winner there.
After reading these last few pages and you talking about Melo, I get the sense that you feel entitled to Melo, like Chicago deserves him and he shouldn't want to go anywhere else.
Who knows what Phil's plan for the Knicks are? No one expected the Knicks to be as bad as they were this year. But now that they finished the way they did, they're all but certain to do it again? Yeah their cap situation isn't great but they've already made moves towards getting out from under some of those contracts.
The fact of the matter is, Melo said he just wanted to test free agency and see what it was all about. As soon as he opted out, the media was claiming he was all but gone and NY had no shot I'm keeping him.
You're all too quick to bite on anything the media says. At the end of the day, the only people who know what's gonna happen are the players themselves. Even though it's said that Melo is happy with what Phil and NY had to say, its no certainty that he's coming back.MLB: St. Louis Cardinals
