Kobe goes for 40+ for the win, he's a ball hogg.
Kobe shoots less, he is not agressive/big ego/etc.
Kobe plays the all around game, he's a stats whore.

All depends on the circumstances. If he shoots forty shots to get 40 points and has to later apologize to his teammates for ball hogging, then yea, he'd agree with me he was being a ball hog. Not to mention how he took shots drawn up for other players. I mean, no way he can hog the ball right? Sure this isnt always the case, but there is a point on both sides.

Shoots less, you mean like in the LA/Sac game? Oh yea to throw a temper tantrum because the coach hurt his feelings.

All around game aint always all around when you have teammates complaining they cant get a pass or you totally screw the team in the finals by not passing. Again, not always the case, but most of those circumstances come from him doing things for Kobe, not the team.

But this has to be the biggest of them all. On one hand, when Kobe DOES win championships with Shaq, people come out and say he is a second fiddle, coattail rider of Shaq, he wasn't the man, and they just discredit the hell out of him.

Well, he was second fiddle, but coattail rider, naw. Neither of those guys would have won without eachother, and it probably applys to ths day.

Why do players win championships? To get that "feeling?" Yes. To get that sense of accomplishment? Yes. But every sports athlete, every human being wants to be the best and wants to win championships to be recognized and credited for. I don't care what you say, but everyone wants to earn the credit of winning it all.

Tell that to the DET Pistons. Didnt see them trying to hog the glory form one another. They got credit as a "team"

So Kobe figures, he's won back-to-back-to-back championships, yet people still doubt him, still discredit his game because of Shaq. People actually come out and say, "he should lead a team of his own, no Shaq, if he wants to be considered an elite player." So Kobe now has found himself on a new team. The result?

There is no doubt he's talented, not a bit.Did Shaq make things easier for him, yes he did, and to say he didnt is just dishonest. He is already considered elite my man, and he can lead a team if he chooses, but the whole way he went about it was just wrong, and I am disappointed in you all who defend the mess that was happening.

"The bitch broke up a dynasty."
"The loser his a glory hog and wants to win by himself only."
    "He's a self-centered *****"
Now do you see the irony in this?

He did break it up you are right. You want a specific quote from Phil?
He does want all the glory. "I'm tired of beinga sidekick"
He's self centerd no doubt about it.
I see tons of irony on its way

Really, Kobe had just as much to do with alot of this as the people who complain about it. He's nowhere near innocent as people try to make him sound, like he's a victim. Did he deserve all of the flak from Shaq and Phil always...I dont think so, but alot of it he did. In the end, the coach is fired, the MDE is traded, and Kobe signed again the day after it all happened. Now as you said, he has "his" team

Yes he has his team, but that isn't neccesarily a bad thing, especially considering A) Him and Shaq just couldnt work together anymore, not that they couldnt, but they didnt want to and B)We dont even know how him having his own team will work out.

          Yo KDRE...

You know I respect your opinions and everything...but do you ever wonder why you're the only one who wages the anti-Kobe war so hard? It almost seems like you hate Kobe more than you support T-Mac. Alot of guys take their shots here and there, but...it almost seems personal w/ you.

I can imagine that living in LA as a T-mac fan can be frustrating as hell. Is that it? Are you just sick of the locals always proclaiming how great Kobe is, with no mention of the equally talented McGrady? Part of my reasoning for being such a hardcore LeBron fan (even before he became a Cav) came from 3 years of arguing with co-workers who said he would flop at the next level...so I kinda' know what you must go through.

          Just curious.

It isnt a bad thing, just how things went about for it to happen when it shouldnt have. I Still think him and Shaq are ultimately better off together than not, but as you said, they couldnt work it out to be that way, which is a shame.

What up man? I'll admit I know what that's like. Until this year I was a Magic fan in Michigan. I had to hear about how great Grant Hill was w/ no mention of the equally talented Anfernee Hardaway. With my friends, the Hill-Hardaway debate was just as big as the Kobe/Mac debate is now. And in all honesty, its ironic that Hill ended up in Orlando, and neither of them fufilled their enormous potentials.

Fastforward to two years ago, Tmac sayin he's in round two, I'm rejoicing, talkin stuff, Detroit fans around me are upset! All of a sudden, I'm watching Detroit go on to round two! Wasn't my best moment as a Magic fan in Mich.

Fastforward to last year. I watched, EVERY Magic game I possibly could, and the ones I couldnt I was reading the play by play online. I was a die hard fan through the entire "streak" and beyond. Meanwhile, Detroit wins the title, and all of a sudden everyone around me, and I'm talkin people who don't even watch basketball, are buying their red white and blue jerseys acting like theyve been down w/ detroit since day one.

Fastforward to now. When Tracy left Orlando, I left with him. I'm not a "bandwagon jumper", but I felt like Tmac was right on this one and the orlando organization is kinda messed up. We are 2-0 right now, and yes I know its only preseason, but after enduring all that, I'll take what I can.

I know this is kinda off topic, but it just goes with what HMcoy was sayin. It can be rough to be a fan of a person, a team, or both, simply b/c of the city u live in.

I fail to see the "war" you're talking about. I don't hate anybody. You may think it's personal or what not, but this is a message board man. I'm posting my opinions and what I see just like you guys are.

I love to watch more players than Tmac, and living in LA has nothing to do with it. I'd personally take LBJ over Kobe but that's just me. I think he's a better fit for a team and has tons of potential he can no doubt tap into. I also know Kobe isnt in the feild of MJ Wilt Shaq. Some of you do but I don't.

I've been a fan of Laker teams before, but not this past one. You hear me every once in awhile talk about NVE Eddie Kobe Shaq and Elden, and how I really enjoyed that team. I dont think I'm the only one who finds the guy unfavorable, I just say it more, but hey, I talk to Laker fans all of the time, and have since I was a young kid, so it's not like a big deal to me. Maybe it seems to you guys it's much more but it's not. I give opinions, debate basketball, analyze it post stories, and another thing it just may be that I live here and I get to hear more of the stories than you guys do.

When I turn on sports radio or the local news or sports station, I dont hear about LBJ, PP, Mac, TD and those guys right away, I hear Lakers, Dodgers, Angels, Kings.

I hear ya, bro...its just that..these long, back and forth arguments take time and energy. I saw your last response to our little "discussion" here, and got all ready to type my long response...but it hit me that, we are BOTH right in so many different ways, this would NEVER end. Never. You are intelligent and knowledgeable enough to always have a damn good counter-point to whatever I type, and I can sit here and do the same with you. There is no right and wrong here.

I hate not getting the last word in an argument, but sometimes its a war of attrition, its who gets bored with the debate first. But after I quit, you STILL are in here doing it all over again with the next man...again, it takes energy to read and re-read someones post, searching for weaknesses.

You NEVER run out of steam in dissing Kobe. There's hardly a day that goes by that there isn't a brand new, hot, fresh Kobe pile-on thread started by none other than yourself. "Kobe did this" by KDRE..."Kobe messed up that" by KDRE. Honestly.

No offense bro, I'm just wondering what gives?

I cosign this statement completely. I argued with Jordan for like 5 pages in this thread about how Kobe and Odom aren't MJ and Pippen. I think you, me, KDRE and Jordan are all alike in that we all know what we're talkin about and HATE to back down from a debate. However, it gets to a point where you gotta say, "I'm not gonna change this guys mind". But at the end of the day, its all love. I value all of you're opinions and respect your bball knowledge. Although, I really believe that Kobe saved Jordan from a burning building or something lol.
