Catch me giving up on basketball if I’m ever going through mental gymnastics to justify LeBron walking into LA and within not 9 months trying to trade away the entirety of the Lakers rebuilding roster and thinking all is gonna be cool when it doesn’t work out.

Sources: The New Orleans Pelicans are releasing forward Markieff Morris, who is currently dealing with an injury.

That's all Philly could get for Fultz? I mean he's probably never gonna be what people thought. But damn. He might ball out in Orlando. Hope he does.

If they would have got Terrence Ross instead of Simmons in the trade, it would have seemed as more. Because the 2020 OKC pick will most likely be in the 20s range. Ross just had over 30 off bench last night. Seems like both teams wanted to move on from each player. Both are low risk moderately high rewards. I think both are under contract next year. So expect Philly to move him in offseason. At best, you'll get an MIP level player in Fultz next season and get the level of player from the Spurs 2 year ago.

Seeing that doesn’t make me feel too bad that we’re still paying Deron for another year.

Yeah, will definitely be interesting. Russilo went on to say that "Of course, teams might be saying that now and feel differently after they strike out on their Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, etc. guys."

I know he's been a headache with his recent teams but I would still think that given how good he is and the fact that he's still only 29, he can at least get a short-term max deal.

I'm sure the lakers / Knicks would take him if they strike out on all the big guys

He's kinda right between the two ends of the spectrum of being a star or a great 2nd-3rd piece. Jimmy's best role at this point is probably being a 2nd guy, 3rd guy in some situations maybe, who can get you 15-20 a game and plays tough defense. The issue is that can be had for much cheaper than the money he will command. But the cheaper guy isn't going to come with the playoff experience he provides, maybe not the knack for hitting big shots and making big plays either.

I think he could still go somewhere and be that go-to guy, I just don't think a team built around him being "the guy" is going to get very far. Then of course you have to wonder what role he's willing to accept as well. There are a few teams that would be a really good fit for him, but it's up in the air on if that's something he wants to give up. Sixers are a good fit for him, and there has already been questions there on if he's unhappy with Embiid getting more touches and vice versa.

Aside from the locker-room/chemistry stuff, which I'm not sold on Jimmy being some sort of team cancer like they try to portray, I don't think I'm quite willing to throw max money at him just based on his play alone.
