Idk about anyone else, but i'm stolked KD chose to become a free agent. Really don't wanna see him in GS again. He needs his own team now where he can create his own legacy.

GS proved pretty emphatically that they really do need KD in order to be a great team that wins multiple titles. KD's legacy is that he made a very good team into one of the best ever assembled.

GS might win a few more with their core, although Klay getting hurt throws a wrench into those plans. Without KD, they are quite clearly mortal, especially when they play against Kawhi.

lol but really, Gasol had to opt in by today I believe, so he'd have to make his decision one way or the other before Kawhi. Seeing how he opted in, I'm guessing either he knows he's not getting anywhere near this amount in FA and/or he knows something.....

This is probably another "reading WAY too much into things", but apparently Raptors just mass messaged the media members this story. They're not letting guys use "sources".

Danny Green is the real telling one. He doesn't want to flat out admit it, but you could tell what he means. He'll stay if Kawhi stays, and go elsewhere if Kawhi doesn't.

I think they are worse off with him, I really don't understand what Houston is trying to do. If the idea is the only thing stopping them from a Finals appearance was Golden State then next season is definitely the year you run it back and take advantage of Golden State's injury issues. I have zero confidence Butler will make them better and quite frankly I feel like he's a terrible fit on most teams but I'm not a Butler fan in the least.

I rather see them run it back than to go after Butler. Lasy years team with some tweaks has a better shot at the open West than what Houston is proposing. I just dont see losing 3 key role players and adding Jimmy and league min contracts equaling a better team than last year.

It was an easy decision for Gasol regardless of what Kawhi does (though I do think at this point that he’s staying too).

Does anyone believe a trio of Jimmy, CP3, and Harden pushes Rockets over the hump? Besides of whole locker room and chemistry thing, does that trio pushes them over other teams in West. They would have to give up their best 2 defenders and top bench scorer just to get him.

It would be great soap opera drama for us fans, lol.

Pelicans decline to extend a qualifying offer to Stanley Johnson, now have upwards of 28mil in space..

Horford would be a great sign there, as would them giving up a couple of their new pics to take Capela in a Jimmy Butler scenario.

I think if you could get him for a $60m/4 deal or around there that would be great business. But no doubt after the year he just had and other contracts currently in the league I think he’s going to want $100m over the same time frame, minimum.

It would absolutely NEVER happen but how ****ing nuts would it be for Kawhi to take that little bit less and sign on in New Orleans? That would be a ****ing phenomenal story and a legit chance at a juggernaut of a team. I don't even know how that starting lineup would look. Lonzo, Jrue, Kawhi, Ingram, Zion then Hart coming off the bench? Sign some center dirt cheap and bring Ingram and Hart off the bench 6th and 7th? I wish Kawhi would do that or come sign with the Bulls. I think my ideal scenarios that I'd want to see in order is

A) Signing with the Bulls and this young core

B) Sign on with New Orleans and that core

C) Stay in Toronto and build a legacy there

They would be pretty filthy if everyone stayed healthy and Zion is all the hype. I highly doubt Kawhi wants to go to New Orleans though lol.

Bulls would be legit, but I think the team overall would be better with a high end point guard. Maybe if Kawhi or LaVine either one was a bit more of a playmaker though..

Bulls will be really interesting regardless if White pans out.. kinda sucks they didn’t keep Portis around as a 6th man though.

I'm not a fan of dropping regular season games. I dont care much for the mid season tournament, either.

I do think the play in for the playoffs could cool. I'd enjoy watching the 8th, 9th and 10th seeds Duke it out for a playoff spot. There could even be some Cinderella storylines in the playoffs if one of the lower seeds knocks off a higher seed. I see that as a win win.

As for players and "load managment", I understand. These games do take a toll. We just saw that this season. Just make it so that players can only take off "load management" games at home. That's all. If I pay a premium to see LeBron or Kawhi play in Atlanta, I want to see them unless they are truly hurt. There are only a handful of times away fans get to see certain players. The home team gets 41 games.
