Re: NBA Draft 2020
In my quest to identify guys I'd be interested in with the 24th pick in the draft, some relatively unheralded guys that I like:
Ty-Shon Alexander - Great defense and a good shooting stroke, but unfortunately he kinda sucks finishing around the rim.

Robert Woodard - One of those guys that just has a knack for making winning plays, being in the right place at the right time, etc.

Cassius Winston - Probably my current favorite for the Bucks pick (if they keep it). Some Kyle Lowry similarities in there though obviously if people thought he'd turn into that caliber of a player, he'd be going earlier than this.

Yam Madar - He looks kinda scrawny but he's a dog on defense and has great touch around the rim. Shot like **** from 3 point range but he's a good FT shooter.

Leandro Bolmaro - 6'7" with playmaking skills. Just has really good instincts and savvy. He's gotten some comps to Joe Ingles and Manu Ginobili.

Re: NBA Draft 2020
I wish I had paid more attention to college basketball this year. I watched so little outside of Syracuse this year, so I just discovered Ty-Shon Alexander for example this past week. Man his defensive activity is fun to watch. He’s gonna be a nuisance in the NBA

Re: NBA Draft 2020
Man, I sure hope not, heard the Knicks interested to...teams go raise his price, knowing we don't have no kind of money, so with that being said I might as well forget about it...only thing, he said he wanted to play with John, so we'll see..We gave him an big opportunity hereRetro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: NBA Draft 2020
Also, I didn't mention him before because he probably isn't an option for the Bucks, but I know some of you guys like taking a look at the European prospects. This dude is the one that seems to have a lot of people excited right now. Kilian Hayes is generally considered the best European prospect; The Ringer even has him #1 on their big board, but this guy was flying under the radar for most of the year and is starting to be a hot name now.

NBA Draft 2020
Excellent analysis
Teams will spend time gathering intel to learn more about a prospect's work ethic, professionalism and personality. But aside from identifying certain character traits, there are five basketball-related developments worth considering for high draft picks.Comment

Re: NBA Draft 2020
1. Kevin Knox for example wasn't a late riser. He was projected around the 9-12 range in February and ultimately went 9th.
2. I would have liked to have seen if there were any outliers in regards to the Assist % and Block % numbers (though those are two things I would generally look at as a red flag even before reading this article).
3. I think some of the "no bankable skills" examples are just flat out wrong. MKG for example was considered a great defensive prospect and Issac Okoro who he mentioned as an example this year is considered arguably the best defender in the class. Exum was considered a great scorer. I feel like RHJ was viewed as a great defender as well though I don't know that for sure. Patrick Williams and Deni Avdija do seem like two candidates as far as that goes though I'm not sure the history with "no bankable skill" guys is as bad the author thinks. I feel like a lot of prospects are like that really.NFL: Bills

Re: NBA Draft 2020
Apparently scouts are all in on Toppin.
I'd be interested in knowing if he's a true 6'9 like listed, if so given his wingspan it's probably not unlikely that he could play some at the 5 like this article suggests.. That sorta changes my perception of him a bit as well.
Only concern being defense. I look at similar built guys who built really strong defensive habits upon entering the league, someone like Kenyon Martin for example, then others like Amar'e who aside from help side blocks never really seemed to put his athleticism to a large defensive advantage.
No doubt he's the most NBA ready player in the draft in my opinion, I just never thought he had tremendous upside.Comment

Re: NBA Draft 2020
If his defense is as bad as every says then he would be a awful fit in Atlanta. I don’t see how he could be the pick unless it’s just BPA which would make the Collins rumors heat up even more. So I hope he goes somewhere in the top 5.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: NBA Draft 2020
I feel like with Capela and Collins he wouldn’t be on the board for Atlanta really. That said Atlanta is really set at every position. They are kinda in a wait and see how much each player develops spot.
If Wiseman is available I think they have to go with him. A couple years learning and developing behind Capela might be what’s best for him anyways, and while he could potentially bust I feel like he has the most boom potential by far.
If not him maybe Killian Hayes. Worst case scenario he’s a solid 6th man type and backup guard to Trae, but with his size he could easily play at the 2 and take the lead duties when Trae sits as well. Maybe even use Trae off ball more the way Golden State used Steph with another playmaker on the floor like that.
If Atlanta does sign Toppin I wonder how likely it would be that they would go ahead and move Collins.

Re: NBA Draft 2020
I haven't known less about the players in an upcoming NBA draft since the year before Magic and Bird came into the league. It's going to be strange watching the new rookies next year with basically zero expectations about the play of any of them.Jordan Mychal Lemos
