So FVV to the Knicks confirmed ?

Last time Knicks passed up on a Raptors PG because the price was too much, it came back to bite them and worked out great for the Raptors. Let's see what happens here...

The knicks seem like the most likely team with cap space to sign him however It seems they want a bigger name CP3 or Westbrook.

I could see him being a sign and trade guy where he goes to a playoff team. That way the raptors get something back for him.

Westbrook should just go somewhere where he is the clear #1, get those 18-20 shots per game, get those triple doubles, and ignore winning, and go back to being mad at the world.

Atlanta is interested in trading the 6th pick for veteran help. It will be interesting to see how bad we got ripped off in another trade because our GM doesn't understand the value of trades. If your team has win now players they are shopping you def want to trade with Atlanta.

Do any of Rudy Gay, Patty Mills, LaMarcus Aldridge or DeMar DeRozan move the needle for you? Plenty of "win now" in that group & you'll still end up outside the playoffs!

I'd love the 6th & 11th picks even in this weak draft, but I highly doubt Atlanta would be interested in our veteran fodder.

Does anyone really want or need basketball before 2021? And 72 games+postseason seems like a lot with guys out there in close contact.

The owners & players "want & need" the lost revenue if they delay into 2021. And starting around their "marquee" day will be huge for the league. As well as getting back to their normal calender season & not playing into the "dead" months of July, August & September (for everything not the NFL, CFB or Summer Olympics).

And a lot guys were in "close contact" in the bubble without issue. I doubt that happens with players being out in the public, but hopefully the NBA will have better thought out protocols than the NFL.

A few big picture thoughts whoever Atlanta brings in has to be at least average on defense because that's how bad Trae is on that end of the court. I don't think any long term $ is going to be taken back. We want to keep enough cap space to sign a max level guy next offseason. If it's a G that person needs to also be able to play alongside Trae and not just be his backup for 12 minutes a game.

Aldridge - Is a hard pass as Capella has to yet to even play a game at C. Dedmon is around as the backup even if you were to include him in the deal. You don't want to pay that much for another big with Collins also playing some 5.

Gay - Their isn't a lot of minutes to be had at wings with 3 young guys and some more bodies likely coming during draft or FA. This one also doesn't make sense.

Mills - This one is possible as he is a veteran that can shoot that's in the last year of his deal. You will have fill me on his defense. A few years back we wasted our cap space on bringing in Jeremy Lin while adding a 2nd round pick many years down the line. So It would probably have to be a deal similar to that. It seems like Atlanta has bigger fish to fry for this type of player so I don't think its likely. Even if you don't fill this need with the 6th pick somehow. The smarter move to me instead of paying Patty 13 million would be just to sign someone like Kris Dunn, De'anthony Melton etc cheap.

DeRozan - This one is interesting we talked about it a little a few pages back after the ringer mocked this trade happening. The deal was universally hated by what few smart hawks fan/writers we have. The deal was us moving back from 6 to 11 and grabbing him. The issue I had is if you want him you could just send word to his agent and sign him to a deal. I don't like the fit from the Hawks side as I don't believe he is a great defender and he can't shoot.
