Isn't Atlanta supposedly pretty high on Bertans and KCP? They just need to help the Lakers make that Beal move lol. Kuzma, Huerter, number 6 pick, number 28 pick, 2027 first round pick, for Beal, KCP and Bertans to Atlanta.

They could also help BK make the Beal move. Nets sign and trade them Harris and maybe Dinwiddie, number 6, multiple firsts from BK, LeVert and Allen for Beal. Of course BK might want something like Dedmon or Huerter back to help their bench if they were to move all those pieces to get Beal.

Atlanta is def going to bring in win now players it’s just a matter of if it’s done via trade or FA. That player you would think would be either a shooter or defender.

Yea Bertans is a name that’s been linked and it makes sense on paper as we were dead last in the league in 3 point shooting. I don’t personally like the fit your paying a backup 4 15 million per year that can’t defend.KCP makes sense he is a hometown guy and is a 3&D type player so he would fit in well especially if it’s via trade and not a 3 year deal.

I’m just not trading any of the 3 young wings we have and I don’t see why we would rush to do so. I mean if Trae Young is so worried about winning he should quit taking horrible shots and try on defense. I really like Huerter’s long term potential as a role player for 10 years in this league and I’m not trading him.

If anyone ask for cam reddish I’m hanging up the phone on them immediately.

        Sign and trade Harris?

Trade multiple first round picks AND give up LeVert, Allen and Dinwiddie?

        Billy King is that you?

For Beal? I mean that’s pretty much the going price for a superstar in today’s landscape. If you aren’t sending one out in return you basically have to sell the farm or give up your whole future in picks.

I was assuming the Nets could get back something like Huerter, Dedmon, Ish Smith, or someone similar to those guys to fill some of the bench void. And with the Hawks pick being 6th and the Nets being 19th I was assuming a Nets pick after that could likely have solid restrictions or be rights to swap. Possibly even a 2nd rounder instead as we don’t fully know what the asking price would be, but stars aren’t currently being moved for just 1 or 2 picks if the last couple of off-seasons are any indication. Regardless BK would have no reason to be picking earlier than say 25th in the next couple of drafts.

Maybe - Kyrie, Beal, Huerter, KD, Jordan, Ish Smith, Temple, Prince, Kurucs, Claxton, plus whatever ring chasers decide to join a trio of KD, Kyrie, Beal because that’s instantly the best big 3 in the league.

If the Nets really wanted Beal they could likely get him without including Harris, but moving him to Atlanta could possibly get them back a guy like Huerter and maybe save them a pick or two by sending them Atlanta’s instead. Without the Atlanta pick the Nets have 19th in a poor draft and the next tradable one might be 30th for all we know with their talent. So in my eyes without the sign and trade and bringing Atlanta into the mix Washington would likely want something like 3 first rounders plus LeVert and one of Dinwiddie/Harris just as a conversation starter.

Even with AD telling them he was going to leave them and making other teams iffy on his intention of resigning with them the Lakers still had to give up BI, Lonzo, Hart, the number 4 pick, 2 more first round picks, and two first round swaps. Paul George got 5 first round picks, two rights to swap, Gallo who’s better then anyone leaving the Nets, and SGA who likely has a higher potential than anyone leaving the Nets.

Who knows if they even want to swing for a 3rd star like Beal anyways. But he hasn’t asked to leave (yet) and Washington doesn’t want to move him, it’s going to take a haul.

"The National Basketball Players Association has voted to tentatively approve NBA’s proposal for the 2020-21 campaign starting on Dec. 22 and playing 72-game season, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

NBA set to tip off Christmas week. "

The NBA and NBPA are expected to discuss moving up the start of free agency as early as possible to accommodate players joining new teams so close to a Dec. 1 start of training camps, sources tell ESPN.

I would like to see Free Agency before Draft I always wanted Free Agency to come before the draft. I feel like teams would make different draft decisions if they were able to have signed free agents first. Plus if Training camp is 12/1, then you want those players signed asap

Does anyone really want or need basketball before 2021? And 72 games+postseason seems like a lot with guys out there in close contact.

The revenue loss projections made this a inevitability. This probably dooms the chance of a repeat for the Lakers, but it had to be done for league financial health.

Besides the downside for the Lakers, if they can maintain the excellent safety protocols, I have no negative feelings about the quick return. I know how much the build up of the offseason and the atmosphere at the arenas means to most people, but for me it's just about what's happening on the court.

I wonder where this will leave the Raptors.

Training camp starts December 1st, FA starting ASAP, but doesn't seem like they know where they're even playing yet. You cant enter FA or training camp not knowing where you're playing.

Last thing NBA would want is another Jays situation where you're scrambling to find a home in the middle of training camp.

I was fine having it start after Christmas, but I can see why they wanted it before.

We could've had season start MLK day and do training camp January 2nd, but that's almost a month of games missed, so they wouldn't have wanted that.

Gordon Hayward in a sign-and-trade plus picks No. 14, No. 26 and No. 30 overall to Atlanta for NO 6. (Yes I will continue to include Hayward in any and all hypothetical trade targets discussed here, no matter how realistic it may be.)

Atlanta would say no to that as we don't want/need that many rookies. For example even if we stay at 6 whoever we draft likely gets about 15/20 minutes a game. Its hard to judge Hayward's value what do you think it is ?

I could see a scenario where its something like 6 for 14/26 and a young player like Romeo or Grant Williams. I don't think that one is as likely as it use to be since we are going to rush the process and try and win now.

At this point I would be hesitant to consider Beal as a superstar. He's a high-performer in the regular season, but we haven't had a chance to really see the "new Beal" in any meaningful playoff games either.

New Beal is gonna be partly dependent on what Wall looks like after 2 years away, which I’m hoping it’s the 2017 version coming back.
