    Re: Age limit

I agree that the NBA should install a rule to make sure all players play 2 years of college ball (in other words, 2 years removed from HS), before they can be in the draft. Just like the NFL.

I do think this would be great for the players themselves, and even better for COLLEGE basketball. In a way, it would help protect the NBA franchises themselves in that they don't draft a player who they've never seen on a college court. I think it's a win-win players and coaches. Patience will pay off. The NBA will be getting more refined and mature athletes, and I think maturity is something that is often overlooked in pro sports.

Nobody is running to McDonalds to knock the Fry shaker out the hand of any 18 year old so stop cutting down these players. It is on the GMs of the NBA to stop drafting these guys just as its on them to stop paying these out of control contracts. Its like people have lost thier common sense.... how can you hate a player for getting paid the most he can if they'll pay it to them.

There are no rivaleries because of Free Agency and players move on so there is no real connections between teams. You have no idea about Bball if you think young teams arent good ...

Think about this when OLD teams become get too old teams have rebuild, unless you have good young talent already in place or you have to get a free agent who is in thier prime. Rebuilding is hit or miss so if yo uget the right mix your gold if not your the bulls for the last 5 years the bad teams in the NBA have been bad for a while its not the high schoolers fault. Plus you keep adding teams to the league the less talent on each team cause now you have starters on team that shouldnt be starting.

Actually its a good example because you are talking about taking thier right to play under what reasoning? Maturity? Thats the why I brought that up you cant say he is not mature enough to play in the NBA but he can fight in war thats assanine.

And the basic right of fighting your country the same goes for making a living and if somebody thinks you can play ball in the NBA then you should be able to do so.

                        Re: Age limit

they shouldnt put an age limit on the NBA. If you are good enough to make the league than you should be in the league. it should be as simple as that.

I wonder how people would feel if they put an age limit on everything for example.
tell a person that cant have a certain job or own a home because they are not old enough people would be mad as hell

And i would like people to explain to me why they need to go to college?
They can become just as good by practicing everyday, learning from some veterans, and playing against great players everyday(while getting paid ex. kevin garnett)

And for people who insist for an age limit what would you do if you came out of high school and you were good enough for the league? would you go to college for two years because you personally think that its better for the league or will you go to the league and accept your money.

Also when people say that the teams that when dont have high schoolers on their team, its not just high schoolers but its first contract players.
Most teams that win dont have a bunch of players on their team with their first contract which means that they are less then 4 years in the league. so it dont matter if your out of high school or did four years in college experience is still lacking to contribute to a championship IMO.

for me id go not just 2 yrs to college but 4 yrs or 3 if i could graduate early. sounds like the NBA Players Association is gonna cave into this anyway since the owners have huge leverage after what happened to the NHL. so some of the other things the Players dont want to agree to like the luxrey tax being stiffined and whatnot they will agree to this. whether you like it or not its gonna be passed.
