I hope the Beverley rumors are true.

I'm hoping that Phil's title remains in existence and he appoints a successor. That means Mills stays in his same role and does not have final say.

I like Beverly but I can't imagine Houston not matching given all the tough point guards in the West. They'll retain him IMO.

I like Beverley too but I'd rather not (over)pay for him. His stats are very similar to Gallo2's. He's a tougher, better defender but after just drafting a PG and potentially signing a max deal with a big man, I'd rather use the rest of the cap space on wings or a wing and defensive big.

True. We have 3 guys who can play point in Grant, Gallo, and Jose.

So Afflalo looks like a done deal. So our guards are

            Grant
            Shved
            Galloway
            Afflalo
            Calderon

Roughly 19 million in space after the Afflalo deal.

Apparently the cap is projected to go up an additional $2 mil, so we'd have ~21 mil in space after the Afflalo deal.

                Didn't know that.

So what's the plan then? Save or spend?

I'm sure right now the plan is hoping Aldridge comes. I doubt it, like many of us, but I can't see the Knicks making any other moves until that's confirmed.

I don't think they believe that they have a realistic shot. Just wanted to be in the mix because of the big market.

And not offering Monroe a max is a clear sign that they don't think he's worth it which is a refreshing change around these parts. Let David Falk squeeze some other team.

They offered it to him, he just straight up rejected us for the Bucks.

EDIT: I'm reading now that we may not have, Hahn says we didn't, Isola references Woj saying we didn't.

                        Words from his agent.

Pretty sure he went into each consecutive meeting telling teams they already have a max offer on the table.

                        This is David Falk.

Plus him saying that the presentation from the Knicks wasn't important because it's Phil Jackson shows that they were more about the money.

Whatever though. I think Monroe would've given me fits by his lack of aggression.

Aldridge canceled his meeting? I mean I knew it was a waste of time, but he gives the Lakers 2 meetings and we get nothing?

No lie, I'd rather have Lopez at $12m a year than Monroe at $16m.

Might as well get Steve Blake here too.

                                So proud.
