Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
Thanks CB ,
But at this point Im trying find a blend thats perfect for all weights .
Thats how i got messed up on Champion .
On my Tyson test I fought Chambers agressively but not crazy and I stunned him in the 4th but got to agressive trying to finish him and he stung me lol .
So in the 5th I let me attack a bit then Iron mike went wild and KO early WoW .
It felt so realistic and satisfying and a lesser fighter wouldnt had even lasted 5 rounds so Im happy with how this is playing out .
I also tested Leonard and Hearns with excellent results as there equal fighters.
Now when I fought Duran hearns I just couldnt compete different weight class I lost all 3 fights as duran, 2 the distance not very close and he Ko me the 3rd so the balance is finally there weight class wise , Punch total and % connected around 50-60 if Im sloppy Ex:tyson 62%.
Recap:
So I tried playing as lesser boxers miss match and I couldnt win but oppourtunity was there .
I played as a Greater Boxer and I dominated but still was knocked down and punch total were realistic.
As equal Boxers most matches went the distance or me and the cpu won in the last round by KO.
I even had the Ref stop a match in the 9th so cool Marvs eye was shut.
Hearns and sugar ray brought me back in time but I still have to check up on durans style as I suc at no mas .
Tested all weight classes with my settings and had realistic results on all .
So dont make the same mistake I did test settings on all weight classes , with equal and unequal Boxers to find your skill level and then adjust as you get better.
Gonna try Paz now but my only gripe is i wish they had more guys who really fought each other in real life as Im not a big fan of CAB do to no real names and limted hair choices , cant make a decent boom boom or Norton .
I currently play on Champion with Benecio's sliders.
Here are some helpful tips, coming from someone who has had many losing decisions and get knocked out plenty of times. But now I am starting a winning trend.
Don't be too aggressive, work the jab. If someone comes in, prepare to block or counter his blows. Too close, then push him away. (I do that often, because I hate being trapped against the ropes).
Just find a strategy that works for you. If you are going to work the inside alot, prepare to battle.
I'm an outside fighter to be honest, I want to avoid his punches and work the tab. In the end, I take the points for the round. Used to suck at avoiding, but not I am not as aggressive and I wait to block some of his punches.Comment

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
Has anyone tried simulating their early Legacy fights and seen the sim stats? I tried simming my first fight and saw both boxers with 20-30% connect percentages. Is that even possible in an actual in-game fight?
Not really a slider question, though it does relate to it - trying to match the sim's output in an actual fight.Comment

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
Ankido, out of curiosity, is this you posting on GameFAQs as well, or did someone blatantly rip off your sliders and take credit for them??? Just figured I'd give you a heads up, because if it's not you, that's screwed up........Comment

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
Hi Jukeman ,
If you get a chance can you add these to the slider list thanks.
I use these for Fight Now mode as I like a more enjoyable visual pace to my boxing and I tested these on all weight levels and had great results .
Oh and please play at 9 matches all weights before adjusting as these sliders go full circle
With these I lost against better boxers but still had a chance, I won with better Boxers and dominated but still got knockdown and with equal Boxers I won , lost Drawed.
KOs early are possible but you really have to work and its pretty tough as it should be against even talent.
PRO
Camera Wide
Hud On
Number of rounds 10
Saved by the Bell OFF
3 Knockdown Rule Yes
RFA 10
RDA 10
Boxer power 6
Boxer Speed 5-4 (IMO one of the keys settings ,the lower you have it the more reaction time youll have to counter ect if your having reaction timing problems try this one first.
Boxer Damage 6
Boxer Toughnest 4
CPU OA 6 -5 , 5 if you want less cpu aggression
CPU DA 10-9 , 10 forces you to pick your spots better and keeps you punch count perfect but your choice.
CPU Punch Output 10
Power , damage and toughnest seem like a perfect blend as I have seen all tytpes of matches.
Let me know what you think ?Last edited by dorismary; 07-01-2009, 08:17 PM.Comment

I can win on champion but with my skill level matches arent varied like they are on pro and not very fun .
Edit I just knocked down Pacman after he knocked me down as he tried to finish me and this I could never do on Champion.Last edited by dorismary; 07-01-2009, 08:15 PM.Comment

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
If you haven't noticed; by playing possum, you invite your opponent to be aggressive. If you show some aggressiveness; the CPU will tend to back off. Try not to play too much possum, they tend to go after you for KO's. If you manage to stun them, maintain your distance and be smart with combos. Find openings until the stun wears off. Once stun is done, back off again and don't put too much pressure. You must still show once in a while that your not afraid to go in. Be in control of the fight or else they destroy you on the inside. No matter what happens, you'll always win the fight if you can survive the rounds. This is one of the biggest gripes I have about the game. It's just too easy.Comment
