If the UFC has a change of heart, what they could do is set up Nick vs GSP, and then Condit vs Ellenberger for the WW title.

From what I'm seeing though, it seems like there's plans for Diaz vs Condit II instead.

I just don't like the idea of Diaz/Condit II. It basically renders their first fight pointless.

It makes sense if the logic is that Ellenberger/Diego haven't earned a shot at Condit.. but at this point I'm not sure that would be true.

Logic aside, I personally I would like to see a second bout since I don't think it was that clear who won.

Not Diego. He's only two fights away from a loss to John Hathaway and his last win over Kampmann is heavily disputed.

Now Ellenberger has a great case that he deserves a shot if he beats Diego.

              F it! Leggo! Lol

Yeah, seems a bit unfair to both Condit and Ellenberger, should Ellenberger win.

But hell, I'm down to see a real war this time. Diaz needs to be genuinely aggressive if Condit is going to try to D. Cruz him again.

@theug is reporting the Diaz-Condit rematch is on, however, Condit's manager @malkikawa says: "Far from true. We haven't accepted nything"

Condit's manager says that no deal has been accepted.

What can Condit's camp really do though?

This just has the LSU/Alabama feel to it. Oh well.

Yeah I don't know. I know I won't be excited for this rematch.

Condit on MMA Junkie radio said he's going to wait for GSP in November. He said the only way he accepts another fight is if GSP suffers another major injury that would further delay the fight.

Dana White needs to step in and make sure Condit has the financial incentive to accept another fight before GSP. As a fight fan, I don't like the fact a healthy top level fighter like Condit could be fighting once in a roughly 16-17 month span.

Unlike Hendo, there are 170pd guys that are worthy of fighting for a number 1 contenders spot (Hendricks and Ellenberger if he beats Sanchez).

Now the fight is back on. White confirmed it on Twitter.

That was a quick "retirement" for Diaz, lol.

Don't like the idea of a rematch, but whatever. Why aren't fighters required to fight every four months or so if cleared medically? Are there some technicalities that make this impossible?

Diaz is back? What? No way? He said he was tired of playing the game! LOL!

                            I hope he loses again.

You can't force them to fight. Also you will start to have fighters faking injuries to avoid fighting when they don't want to.

I am an assistant coach for a hs baseball team. The one thing we teach the kids is, win or lose, respect the game. It's ok to lose, as long as you understand why, and learn something in the loss. Work hard, and come back better the next time. The UFC giving Diaz a rematch basically underminds everything we believe in and teach. I for one will not order this card. I will sportsbar it on principle. You don't reward someone who quits. Joe Silva, and Dana White dropped the ball. Would Condit have gotten the rematch if it went Diaz way? No, and Diaz would be looking to duck any and everyone till GSP came back. I have some strong feelings about this, and if I continue, I may end up breaking the TOS here.
