And how does anyone not close to him know when he's being or not being "himself"? So, let me get this straight - when he's acting out a character on a male soap opera, he's being "himself," but when he's home juicing up and being an a-hole to his wife (eventually killing her and their son) he's not himself?

It's a shame that in 2007 people still don't understand mental illness. To do something like this, Benoit defenitly wasn't himself.

There's people in this world that struggle with mental illness everyday that don't kill people.

Like someone else already pointed out, I'm tired of people not being accountable. He's a coward and a murderer.

And nobody here knows if he was mentally unstable at this point. For all we know he got jealous when because she was going to leave him or was with another dude.

As far as facts are concerned, it's been confirmed that he murdered his wife and son in cold blood and then took the easy way out.

You don't even know the guy so why are you clinging to this mental illness thing? He hasn't been reported to have any mental illness but what's pretty clear is that he used steroids.

Look, when someone does something like this, they are obviously not themselves. MILLIONS of people go undiagnosed because the disease just takes over their mind and they can't figure out that something is wrong.

It would certainly explain their comments. Malenko kept saying he felt bad for the fans...never once said about Benoit's family. Regal's was short and felt like he has so much more to say.

Exactly! Most of these interviews weren't like the Eddie ones, which were completely emotional and happy...I dunno, I just got a different feel from a lot of these guys, especially the ones that were close to Benoit. Chavo's seemed odd too, a little at least.

Some more than others, though. I'm diagnosed as being depressed. I can live with it. My brother is schizophrenic. He still lives at home and my mother makes sure he takes his medication every night. It's a very delicate situation and one that someone who hasn't been there can't possibly understand.

I really think that there's not much more to be talked about. We're going to see new things pop up and they are going to be very revealing. They're going to really reveal somethings we all would never have thought could happen.

I think as a precaution, it'd do us all good to not get caught up in "how sick he was", or "how misunderstood he was", or "how he should rot in hell."

3 people are dead. We need not sustain the tragedy getting caught up in speculations and personal opinions.

I'm sorry to anyone I'm about to offend, but I'm mad now, I'm mad at myself for wasting tears and being sad over this piece of trash killing his wife and son then cowardly killing himself. I still say RIP, but only to his wife and son. He's nothing more than a murderer and a coward.

I don't know that the media would ever release that information even if they got a hold of his medical records so all we can do is speculate. If that was the case, then I feel sorry for the people who don't understand how devastating mental illness can be and the toll it can take on not only that person but their loved ones. No, not everyone with a mental illness kills their family, but there is generally a correlation between those who commit murder-suicide and mental illness. Think of it this way, all poodles are dogs but not all dogs are poodles.

It was posted earlier that he had domestic abuse problems before, plus the way everyone explained how serious and razor sharpe he was almost at all times, I hardly am all that shocked anymore.
