Re: AEW Off-Topic
After how Punk acted/spoke when they initially attempted to bring him in - remember the whole doing "bad business" by contacting through text - plus signing his 'sworn frenemy' Colt Cabana this was only going to end one way (badly).
I think he did want to bury the hatchet, maybe not with Cabana, but clearly there were/are a lot of hurt feelings and egos involved.
Hopefully Kahn grows a spine from this and stops looking at his talent as his "friends." Unfortunately, he'll lose a good portion - not sure how big or small - of the audience because of this entire fiasco.
Punk just needs to give up on wrestling maybe permanently.

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Funny comment someone dug up from CM Punk a while back on TV.
This was when Jungleboy was a good guy.
Punk said "Jungleboy doesn't rub anyone the wrong way, chances are if you have a problem with Jungleboy, you're the problem."
That aged well...Comment

Yeah Punk’s return was cool cause it was a big deal. Didn’t watch WWE when he was there but the dude came across massively overrated to me. Didn’t see the appeal and still don’t, maybe he was better back then.

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Punk sold tickets, merch and ratings, and his angle with MJF was amazing, but if we're never getting Punk vs Omega (or any number of wrestlers who hate him now) what is his value going forward in relation to the cost of dealing with his backstage nonsense? Not great.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
WWE has always disrespected Christian. I don't blame him for ending his career in AEW, and I hope Edge joins him.

Re: AEW Off-Topic
It sucks to not see Christian ending his career in WWE - after it seemed like it was cut short due to concussions - but he's doing great work in AEW & is helping 'elevate' younger guys like Darby, Jack Perry, and Luchasaurus.
Plus, he's like Angle where some of his best work never happened in a WWE ring. So, him going elsewhere to do more great work doesn't hurt as bad.

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Damn, wanted him to come back for one last E & C reunion. Just think how good a feud between Christian and Cody would have been... "I know what I want to talk about Cody, how's your father?"Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
But it does suck we won't get that E&C reunion. Something we didn't think was possible after 2011, we could've gotten a decade later, or even to end both guys careers together at WM.
Who knows...maybe Edge does show up in AEW just to get his final moment with Christian (E&C vs Hardys in a one off match for Edge in AEW?), then goes back to WWE to wrap up his entire career.Comment

Cody, Pillman Jr, Dom (for his DEADbeat dad), Theory. His feuds are set up for him already.

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Christians return at the rumble was his return to the ring, but WWE just viewed it as a one off instead of thinking he could do more, especially when you had Edge already back too.
Not that these guys who are 40 or 50+ can do what we see from guys like Rollins, Gunther, McIntyre and so on right now, but it is interesting how Sting went from his career over to still being able to compete in AEW and do spots. Jericho was at most a part timer, and he suddenly went back to full time in AEW from day 1. Even Christian went from what looked like a one off return in WWE to someone who could be a useful character on TV every week.Comment

There is a risk assessment in having so many or too many "semi - retired" talents performing. Kahn is willing to take that risk, while WWE (whether good or bad) isn't.
And I say that being a huge Christian (Cage) mark and wanting him to retire in WWE.
We haven't seen Randy in over a year with no update or word on if he'll ever wrestle, again. That could be totally on Randy being unable to perform or (like in the case of many talents that leave) WWE making it for him.
