Hopefully the cards go in my favor and I get a couple big guns without losing guys such as Markakis/Scott/Huff. We'll see. I get one protection/re-sign of my choice manually of fielders and pitchers. I'm thinking of keeping Markakis and Cabrera to build around, maybe Loewen.

        2000 Hits For Helton!!!!!

Win even sweeter for Todd Helton, who picks up career hit number 2000 in victory.

Playing at home under the lights, the Rockies emerged victorious in a 5-3 win over the Padres. Todd Helton gave the club a spark offensively, getting 2 hits -- including a solo home run -- in 4 at-bats. It was a solid start for Jason Hirsh, who went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run, to pick up his 3rd win of the season. Heath Bell was removed from the game early because of an injury (elbow inflammation). He's officially listed as day-to-day.

The Rockies and Padres wrap up their series this afternoon with Aaron Cook (6-10, 4.10) and Chris Young (3-2, 3.44) projected to start at Coors Field.

O's bullpen implodes, Rangers complete sweep in blowout fashion!!!!!

Baltimore, MD - The Orioles bullpen wasted a great outing by starter Radhames Liz this afternoon, giving up an atrocious 10 runs in the final two innings to complete the Rangers 3-game sweep of the home team at Camden Yards. Liz turned the game over to the bullpen in the 8th inning, going 7.0 innings, allowing just 3 runs on 3 hits. The Orioles got home runs from Luke Scott and Freddie Bynum to build a 4-0 lead before things began to fall apart. The Rangers cut the lead in half in the 5th, then Josh Hamilton delivered the huge shot in the 8th, a 3-run home run just over the wall in right center field off of O's reliever Chad Bradford, who was up until that point almost perfect for the Orioles this season. From there, the Rangers piled it on, scoring 8 times in the frame and then added 2 more in the 9th to take home a 12-5 victory on just 9 hits on the afternoon. The Orioles seem to continue to find ways to lose games even though they belive in the talent they have around the clubhouse. Hopefully they can put together a good run this last month and a half of the season and gain some momentum going into the 2009 season.

8th inning that erased a 4-2 Baltimore lead. Despite
being Josh's only hit on the night, it propelled the

Orioles starter Jeremy Guthrie continues to impress the organization since his return and received player of the game honors, going 8.0 innings, allowing just 3 hits and struck out a season high 10 Indians batters, including sending "Tribe" leadoff man Grady Sizemore to the dugout 4 times swinging. George Sherrill came in and delivered a perfect 9th inning to pick up his 31st save of the season and edging the O's to a 1/2 game of getting out of the cellar once again.

I was going to say what happened against Texas but now you just had an opening series game win against Cleveland. You have to beat the teams that are worse than you. LOL

Yeah, like I said before. It's pathetic how I play against the teams I should beat and then step up my game a notch when I play teams better than me. If I could just win 2 out of 3 or so against the teams I'm supposed to beat, I'd might be in it more.

                                Red Sox Solve Tough South-Paw!!!!!

Tough southpaw John Danks falls to Red Sox.

Being away from home didn't ruffle the Red Sox last night, as they beat the White Sox 5-3 at U.S. Cellular Field. Julio Lugo was the star at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBI's. Curt Schilling picked up his 3rd win of the season, going 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs on 9 hits.

The Red Sox get a 6-game homestand underway tonight against the Rangers, with Eric Hull (0-0, 0.00) scheduled to oppose Eric Hurley (5-7, 3.84).
