    Orioles Drop Ace Right-Hander!!!!!

The Orioles get the best of Jered Weaver.

The Angels fell at home to the Orioles last night, losing 5-3 and disappointing their fans. Brian Roberts was a catalyst on offense, going 2-for-5 with 1 RBI. With some help from the bullpen, Radhames Liz earned victory number 4 of the season, as he allowed 2 runs and 5 hits over 6 innings.

Game 2 is this evening, with Jeremy Guthrie (5-7, 5.96) taking the mound for the visiting Orioles and Kelvim Escobar (5-4, 3.30) getting the nod for the Angels.

Welcome Back!!!!! Guthrie delivers in O's 3-1 victory!!!!!

Anaheim, CA - Jeremy Guthrie got the start tonight for the injured Steve Trachsel, his first start since being sent down to AAA a couple months back due to poor performance. The Orioles ace when they started the season looked like the guy they hoped for tonight against the Angels. Guthrie went 6.2 innings and allowed 0 runs on just 2 hits while recording 6 strikeouts as Baltimore won their second game in a row with a 3-1 victory over Anaheim. Guthrie's counterpart Kelvim Escobar was just as good, going 6 innings himself without giving up a run, before Kevin Millar took the opening pitch of the 7th inning over the right center field wall to break the scoreless tie. The O's then added 2 more in the 8th, an Aubrey Huff solo home run, followed by Millar delivering again, an RBI single to plate Melvin Mora. The Angels managed to scrape a run across in the 8th, but the tandem of Chad Bradford and George Sherrill shut down any hopes of the "Halos" again, with Sherrill picking up his 30th save of the year. Both teams will conclude the series tomorrow as the O's look for the sweep.

Wow, i just read through most of this, and it is just incredible work. I don't know if i could play a full season of 162 games (i think i got to the 100 mark on 2k8 then NCAA 09 came out lol), but you still do, and you're 10 games under.

        Great work.

One question, what system are you on? because i remember you saying you were enjoying the new Xbox experience, but this game isn't on xbox right? (or maybe it is idk...)

Yeah, it's PS3, they don't make the "Show" for the Xbox, unfortunately. It's the only reason I have a PS3 right now, to play this game, well I have Hot Shots Golf as well. I enjoy that as well. Anyways, thanks for the kind words. It does take alot of time to do the posts, but it's well worth it. I do it for you guys to enjoy and it also keeps me from getting burned out on the game itself. I'll be continuing on as well after this season is over. I don't believe I'm picking up 09 this year, because I want to finally sit down and do multiple seasons. I did a year and about 30 games in 07, but this time I just want to continue on after the free agency and stuff to see if I can finally contend. Thanks for following along.

What do you think about your Orioles gettin top prospect Felix Pie from my beloved Cubbies?

We got two pitchers, Olson (i know him from this thread lol) and williamson.

              Are they any good?

Olson is young, he'll be decent. I'm anxious to see how well Pie does. Hopefully we finalize with Markakis today as well.

I'm hoping man. My goal is to at least finish .500, though that may be a monumental task. Then again, I hope to finish out of last, the Rays just seem to always win when I do, and lose when I do. I can't put any distance between them and myself. Hopefully with them pushing me, I can somehow make it to .500. Can't wait to finish and start the next season.

I don't think I'm picking up '09 this year. I'm content with this game. It took me forever to get the right settings and I really don't want to go through that again this year. I may not have the new stadiums and players, but I love playing this version. As long as I enjoy it, I'm just going to continue on. I've always wanted to do multiple seasons in a baseball game, so now's my chance. Also, with Star Ocean, Killzone 2, and golfing/fishing season around the corner, my bank account is pretty limited, so I have to pick my poisons.
