Sox club their way to series win with 6-2 victory in finale!!!!!
Baltimore, MD - The White Sox brought out the long ball once again tonight, belting 4 home runs on the night, 2 coming off the bat of former World Series MVP Jermaine Dye to take the finale and sending the White Sox home with a 6-2 victory over the Orioles at Camden Yards. John Danks, who came into the game with a bismal 2-10 record on the year, looked the best he has all season, going 8.0 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 7 hits and recording 7 strikeouts. The bright spot for the Orioles for tonight was Nick Markakis who once again extended his hitting streak, now at 24 on the year. The O's fell back into last place by a game, but head to Tampa Bay to end the month in a series with the Rays.

Delgado Gets 2000th Hit!!!!!
Despite a losing effort by his team, Carlos Delgado picks up career hit number 2000.
Last night a Citizens Bank Park the Phillies scored a one-run victory (2-1) against the Mets, sending the crowd of 43,140 fans away from the stadium in a good mood. At least until they get into traffic, and then we can't promise anything. Fabio Castro worked 8.2 innings, allowing 4 hits to pick up his 9th win of the season. Bill Hall clubbed a home run and had 2 RBI's on the day. In something of a minor achievement, Carlos Delgado drove in his 100th run on the season.
This evening the Phillies, behind Jamie Moyer (6-3, 4.56), will take on Jason Marquis (12-6, 3.18) and the Cubs in Chicago for the first game of the series.

Yankees Get Key Divisional Win!!!!!
Yankees take it to AL East foe, beating Red Sox.
In what turned out to be something of an easy game, the Yankees gave their ticket-holders their money's worth with a 7-3 win over the Red Sox. Giving the offense a boost was Derek Jeter, who belted a solo home run in 2 at-bats. The bullpen preserved victory number 12 of the season for Mike Mussina, who yielded 3 runs on 9 hits over 6.1 innings of work.
The Yankees and Ian Kennedy (7-5, 4.07) begin a series with the Blue Jays tonight at Yankee Stadium, drawing ace Roy Halladay (5-13, 4.17) in the process. Alex Rodriguez will try to club his 40th home run on the year.

"Birds" prey on Rays late to leap out of division cellar!!!!!
Baltimore, MD - The Orioles offense dominated the last few innings of tonight's game at Tropicana Field. The O's trailed 3-0 before chipping away to get the game to within a run heading into the 8th inning where the "Birds" turned it up, batting around and scoring 6 times in the inning to blow a close game wide open and giving them an 8-3 victory in the series opener. Adam Jones gave the Orioles the lead with a 2-RBI single to begin the 8th and former Ray, Aubrey Huff once again returned to Tampa and provided the big lumber, going 3-for-4 on the night, capping the 8th inning with a 2-run home run and driving in 3 runs on the night. Nick Markakis also continued his hitting streak in the 8th, pushing it to 24 games with an RBI single for insurance purposes. Starter Troy Patton went the distance, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits to earn his 2nd win of the season. Both teams return to the field tomorrow as the "Birds" look to stay out of the AL East basement.
