Yeah, I was shocked at the Dodgers run. Good to see, and Patton can't do any worse than the rest. I'll probably be using him in the bullpen more once Trachsel returns. Until then, hopefully he gets a start. I guess the rotation will be Loewen, Cabrera, Liz, Guthrie, and Trachsel. Maybe Patton will be a starter come next season, if he's still around.

Guess I was wrong, after my game tonight, Trachsel returned to take Johnson's place as a LRP and Patton will be starting.

Indians scalp O's pitching, break out big in 8-1 rout!!!!!

Cleveland, OH - The Indians got 3 home runs on the night, 2 of them coming in the 1st inning off of O's starter Adam Loewen. Both Ryan Garko and Casey Blake teed off early to give the "Tribe" a 3-0 lead after one frame and they never looked back. The home team also got a single in the 4th from Grady Sizemore to plate 2 RBI's and another solo home run in the 6th from team leader Travis Hafner to help the Indians put together an 8-1 rout of the Orioles tonight at Jacobs Field. Indians starter Scott Lewis improved his record to 4-1 on the season, going 6 innings, allowing just 1 run on 5 hits. The only bright side for the "Birds" tonight was the debut of reliver Bob McCrory, who worked 2.0 IP and retired all 6 batters he faced, while striking out 2. The O's will look to finish off the Indians tomorrow in the finale of the 4-game set.

              Astros Pick Up The Win!!!!!

Nice game for the Astros, as they score win over Giants.

The Astros delivered a 4-1 win for their fans last night, beating the Giants in front of 27,382 strong at Minute Maid Park. Pacing the offense was Hunter Pence, who drove in 2 runs and went 2-for-4 on the day. Leading the way was Chris Sampson, who pitched 8.1 strong innings, allowing 1 run on 10 hits, while striking out 4 to pick up his 3rd win of the season.

The Astros and Giants finish their series this afternoon, with San Francisco sending their ace, Tim Lincecum (9-5, 2.95), to the mound against Ryan Thompson (0-0, 0.00). Hunter Pence looks to build on his 10-game hitting streak.

O's defense helps take series in 14 inning affair!!!!!

Cleveland, OH - It was a long night for the 33,000 plus and the offenses for both teams at the "Jake" tonight. In the longest scoreless streak of the season, the Orioles and Indians came to the plate a combined 26 times without scoring a run before the O's finally pushed a run across in the top half of the 14th inning to win 1-0 and take 3 out of 4 games from the Indians in the series. The O's defense took center stage. In the very first inning, Nick Markakis robbed Travis Hafner of a 2-run home run and "Birds" newcomer Paco Figueroa turned 2 double plays in the bottom of the 11th and 12th innings to keep the "Tribe" off the scoreboard. Paco also recorded his first base hit and first stolen base in the big leagues. Starters Daniel Cabrera and C.C. Sabathia pitched flawless baseball and both left without adding to their records. O's reliver Bob McCrory picked up his first major league win and George Sherrill closed out the Indians to earn his 33rd save of the year. The O's are off to Detroit tomorrow to begin a series with the Tigers.

Really nice win hh. Looks like your pitchers were on. Not giving up a run in 14 innings? How sweet was that victory.

Pretty sweet man. I'm starting to feel pretty good about my team going into the final month and a half. I know I'm out of it, but it's still fun and I'm fighting hard to stay out of last place. Thanks for always following man.

                        Phillies Bullpen Struggles!!!!!

Phillies bullpen meltsw down as Dodgers score late to get win.

The Dodgers gave their fans at Dodger Stadium (all 51,493 of them) something to be glad about, nipping the Phillies in last night's game by the final score of 5-4. He only had 1 official at-bat -- and he banged out a hit -- but Nomar Garciaparra drove in 1 run for the winners. Starter Derek Lowe worked 6 innings and allowed 3 runs and 3 hits, but he wasn't around when the game was decided, though he does record his 18th quality start of the season. Coming in with the game tied Joe Beimel picked up his 5th win of the season -- in relief of starter Derek Lowe -- working 1 inning and giving up no runs on 1 hit.

The Dodgers welcom the Brewers to Dodger Stadium tonight, giving the start to Chad Billingsley (6-8, 5.13), who will be opposed by Manny Parra (1-4, 5.47).

Motor City Madness, Tigers take wild 10-7 victory to open series!!!!!

Detroit, MI - The Tigers ousted Radhames Liz in just 0.2 innings as as a team they hit for the cycle in the very 1st inning, sending 11 hitters to the plate and scoring 7 times, with 2 home runs in the inning, a 3-run shot from Miguel Cabrera and a 2-run homer from catcher Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez to put the home team up 7-1. It would not be enough however, as the Orioles came storming back throughout the game. The comeback was catapulted by Luke Scott in the 7th to bring the O's to within a run when Luke delivered his 23rd home run of the year to make it a 7-6 game and then Freddie Bynum evened it up in the 8th with a 2 out, RBI single to center field. Steve Trachsel was stellar in relief, giving the O's the opportunity for a comeback, working 4.0 innings after Liz left the game and then Jensen Lewis took over and worked 3.0 innings of his own, but then the tank hit empty in the bottom of the 8th, allowing the Tigers to pour on the final 3 runs of the game, with the game winner coming off the bat of Ivan Rodriguez, a 2-run double to the left center field gap to propel the Tigers to a 10-7 victory. The O's will try and get one back tomorrow.

Down Late, Red Sox Stage Comeback!!!!!

Red Sox rally late, get victory over Blue Jays.

The Red Sox beat the Blue Jays last night, pushing across enough runs to win a 4-1 decision in front of 34,219 fans at Fenway Park. He only had 1 official at-bat -- and he banged out a hit -- but Sean Casey drove in 1 run for the winners. Starter Clay Buchholz picked up a no-decision, working 7 innings and allowing 1 run, his 5th quality start of the season. Al Reyes vultured the win (his 7th of the season) out of the bullpen, coming into a tie game and working 1 inning and allowing no runs on no hits in relief of starter Clay Buchholz.

The series resumes tonight at Fenway Park, with the Red Sox' Curt Schilling (3-1, 3.99) and the Blue Jays' Glen Perkins (11-6, 2.94) set as the probable starting pitchers.

Are you going to be starting a new Orioles dynasty with The Show 09 or are you going to continue with this one? It seems like it would be a waste of time to start over but the Show has some great new features coming in...if only i had a PS3...
