So here is the deal. To be completely honest my plan was to trade him and have France finish out the season at 3B and if I am going to sent 15-20 mil on a player the player I am most interested in bringing in is Kris Bryant who it's very doubtful the Cubs are going to keep and sign to a long term deal.

However Seager has been amazing this year for me. He is 2nd on the team in BA with a .289 which could end up being a career best. His OBP is also a career best .360 and he has a .455 SLG, with 9 HR and and 35 RBI. France actually has 13 HR and 33 RBI but is hitting just .245.

Also with the team still in the playoff hunt and even having a chance to win the Division I really am leaning toward keeping him even if it means not getting anything for him, because it's very doubtful I will resign him next year unless he is willing to take less money.

        MARINER'S TEAM REPORT

Position by Position Breakdown of stats and thoughts on every player through June.

        C
        MLB-Tom Murphy (.160 3 HR 7 RBI)
"Murphy was amazing in 2019, but has yet to find his bat after not playing in 2020. Was 2019 a fluke and if so can the M's really expect to get anything for him in a trade deadline dump?

        MLB-Wellington Castillo (.222 7 HR 21 RBI)
"Castillo came over in a trade and has provided enough offense to take over as the everyday catcher with Murphy moving to the backup role, but still .222 isn't great for a bat in the lineup every day"

        MLB/AAA-Luis Torrens (.161/31 AB's, .259 1 HR 12 RBI/81 AB's)
"Torrens hit .257 in 2020 after coming over from the Padres and still has the potential to work his way back into at least a backup role at some point this season"

        AAA-Cal Raleigh (.297 6 HR 28 RBI)
"Raleigh will most likely get his shot at being the starting catcher by the trade deadline. He is only 23 yrs old and is viewed as the future at the position but is currently on the 15 day DL"

        AAA-Jose Godoy (.146/41 AB's)
"His only chance at working his way into a platoon role is the fact he is left handed. He is still only 25, so he could spend another couple years at Tacoma to see if he improves"

        AAA/AA-Brian O'Keefe (.258 2 HR 11 RBI, .471 1 HR 6 RBI in 17 AB's)
O'Keefe was in AAA before Torrens got demoted. If Raleigh gets promoted he could move back to AAA to take over as the starter"

        AA-Chase Vallot (.171 4 HR 14 RBI)
Vallot has the highest potential of any catcher on the team (A) but like most catcher's he currently is not hitting well.

        AA-Ruairi McCann (.208 4 RBI in 48 AB's)
Another young 23 yr old catcher who unless he starts hitting is most likely just stuck as the AA backup until someone else comes along

        1B

        MLB-Ryan Braun (.280 20 HR 67 RBI, 8 SB)
A massive F.A. signing who is leading the team in HR and RBI, Braun is putting up #'s similar to his All-Star #'s of 2012 when he hit 41 HR with 112 RBI and 30 SB's. Braun most likely is just a 1 year rental but so far I am happy with what I have seen

        MLB-Evan White (.253, 3 HR 8 RBI, 83 AB's)
White spend most of the season on the DL, which was why Braun was signed to begin with. Now that he is back, he has pushed Braun to DH most day's and so far is living up to his future billing as the M"s 1 bagger.

        MLB/AAA-Jose Marmolejos (.210 6 HR 11 RBI, 100 AB's/.235 2 HR 13 RBI, 51 AB's)
Marmo started out with the M's as a OF/1B but with White's return to the lineup has moved to AAA and taken over as the Rainer's 1B fulltime.

AA Cayden Ivy (.240 1 HR 18 RBI)
Ivy will most likely get a chance to win the AAA job next season unless someone get's added with Marmo being on a 1 year contract.

        2B

        MLB-Dylan Moore (.255 5 HR 22 RBI, 10 SB's)
"Moore earned a spot on the roster as a super utility guy able to play pretty much every position but won the starting job at 2B in the spring. So far he leads the team in SB's and is on pace to have his best season in the past 3 year's.

        AAA-Shed Long (.224 3 HR 7 RBI, 49 AB's)
Long has been on the DL most of the season. Once he is healthy he will most likely rejoin the M's as a backup 2B/3B/OF.

        AAA-Joe Dietrich (.240 6 HR 17 RBI)
Dietrich currently is bouncing between 1B/2B/3B to get AB's and potentially earn a spot in the 40 man roster as a utility guy

        AA-Wilbis Santiago (.264 2 HR 16 RBI 4 SB's)
Santiago came over in a deal with Orioles when the M's got LHP Tanner Scott in return for 4 pitchers. Once a top prospect with the Indians, Santiago went to the Birds as a Rule 5 pick. He will most likely take over at AAA next year.

        SS

        MLB-JP Crawford (.215 2 HR 22 RBI 6 SB's)
Crawford has a great glove but can the M's really afford to keep a guy who has a career BA of .227 in the starting lineup just because he has a good glove.

        MLB-Donnie Walton (.271, 1 HR 7 RBI, 85 AB's)
Walton was making a case to push Crawford for the starting job, but then hit the DL for 3 months with a Broken Forearm

        AAA-Noelvi Marte (.236 5 HR 20 RBI, 7 SB's)
Only 18, Marte needs probably a full year in AAA before he will be ready to take over for Crawford, but with his Potential I see JP's career in Seattle coming to a close soon.

        AAA-Jared Trout (.264 3 HR 22 RBI 4 SB's)
Another young option at 21 yr old. Trout could also see a move to 3B in his future as he looks for a role at the MLB level.

        AAA-Cesar Izturis Jr (.333 3 HR 7 RBI, 6 SB's)
The Trifecta of young MIF (20 yr old) Like Trout a move to 2B might open up the door to the majors sooner.

        AA-Raynel Delgado (.179 123 AB's)
Another young guy (19) with lots of potential (A). I expect him to stay at AA trough the season and probably next as he looks to get better.

        AA-Josh Morgan (.182 66 AB's)
Currently more of a utility guy who has seen games at C,1B,2B and 3B as well.

        3B

MLB Kyle Seager (.289 9 HR 35 RBI)
Having a career year in what could be his last year on the team as the highest paid player. Will he still be a Mariner by season end?

MLB Ty France (.245 13 HR 33 RBI)
Viewed as the future 3B, France has logged AB's at 1B and 2B as well this season. He raked in 2020 hitting .305 after coming over from the Padres and so far has been pretty solid in terms of power, but would love to see him get his BA up if he is really the future 3B.

        AAA-Joe Rizzo (.242 4 HR 20 RBI)
Could push France for the title of future 3B or could stay in AAA and develope . He is only 21 but does have A potential.

        AA-Jake Scheiner (.295 6 HR 24 RBI)
Another guy who is playing multiple positions (1B/2B/LF/RF) to see more AB's. He very well could be in AAA before the season is done.

        AA-Drew Irvine (.107 2 HR 3 RB 56 AB's)
Most likely a career bench warmer

        OF

        MLB-Cory Dickerson (.238 6 HR 20 RBI 5 SB's)
Dickerson was brought in in a salary dump trade by the Marlins, giving the M's another veteran bat in LF when Jarred Kelenic hit the DL for 30 days. He is in the last year of his 8.8 mil deal and won't be resigned at the end of the season. Look for Sands to try and deal him to a team needing a OF at the trade deadline.

        MLB-Yoenis Cespedes (.369 14 HR 41 RBI)
Brought in on a 1 year deal via F.A., Cespedes like Braun has been the M's MVP for the first 3 months of the season. Originally brought in as the DH, Cespedes has actually performed well in LF so far logging 55 PO and just 2 errors. Depending on what happens in the next 30 days, Cespedes could be dealt to a team looking to upgrade their current DH/LF situation if the M's feel like they are not going to make the playoffs.

        MLB-Taylor Trammell (.252 3 HR 13 RBI, 6 SB's)
Trammell started on the roster but went just 1/20 to start the season and was sent to AAA. He then came back when Kyle Lewis hit the DL and has proven to be a solid #4 OF

MLB Kyle Lewis (.245 13 doubles, 3 HR 16 RBI)
Lewis has struggled to find his power grove so far in 2021 hitting just 3 HR in 147 AB's but he has provided some gap power with 13 doubles. Now back on the roster after a stint on the DL, the M's hope he can find the stroke that saw him hit 11 HR and win Rookie of the Year in 2020.

        MLB Mitch Haniger (.266 14 HR 31 RBI, 6 SB's)
Haniger has already surpassed his 2019 #'s after not playing in 2020 and is on pace to post better #'s then 2018 when he his .285 with 26 HR and 93 RBI. Sands will have to decide if Haniger has what it takes to stick in the OF with all the young studs coming up, or will we see him get moved before signing him to a high price long term deal.

        MLB/AAA Jake Fraley (.179, 28 AB's, .194 3 HR 10 RBI 5 SB's in 160 AB's)
On any other team Fraley could be considered a Top OF prospect, but with the M's he isn't really considered part of their future plans unless it's a Lefty off the bench with a 4th OF being his ceiling. Look for Sands to probably package him in a future deal.

        MLB/AAA Braden Bishop (.182 22 AB's,. .229 1 HR 6 RBI 5 SB's, 118 AB's)
Like Fraley, Bishop is just the right handed version. A prospect who could be a potential 4th OF on most MLB rosters if he could hit better.

        AAA Dom T Williams (.279 6 HR 22 RBI 6 RBI)
At 24 yr old, Williams is sorta the forgotten man when M fan's think of future young stud OF's like (Kelenic, Rodriguez, Lewis, Trammel), but so far Williams play in Tacoma has him as a potential Left hand bat off the bench next season.

        AAA Jared Kelenic (.192 2 HR 10 RBI, 73 AB's)
The M's #1 Prospect, who is just 20 yrs old. Will most likely end up in LF unless by the end of the season. Spent most of the year on the DL and needs to find this swing this month in Tacoma.

        AAA-Julio Rodriguez (.279 7 HR 27 RBI 7 SB's)
M's #2 prospect and future RF. At 18 yr old he could probably spend the whole season in Tacoma as Haniger plays out his contract, but this kid is the real deal and so far has shown it at the AAA level.

        AA-Zach DeLoach (.220 2 HR 19 RBI 4 SB's)
The M's 2nd round pick in the 2020 draft. Ranked #11 in the M's Top-50, should spend the season in AA but could make the AAA roster next year.

        AA-Luis Liberato (.340 7 RBI 8 SB's, 103 AB's)
A International signing by the M's out of the D.R. Liberto has some speed and bats lefty, which could earn him a spot on a bench at some point in his career.

        AA-Dillon Thomas (.295 5 HR 22 RBI)
Time could be running out for Thomas at 28 yrs old. A former 4th round pick by the Rockies, Thomas has always hit well for Avg, but doesn't have the power or speed to be a everyday player.

        AA-Eric Filia (.337 7 HR 30 RBI)
Like Thomas Filia's dreams of a MLB roster spot are coming close to ending at 27 yrs old, he is destine to be a lifer in the minors. He has battled drug suspensions and was a Rule 5 pick by the Red Sox before being returned to the M's.

Re: Rebuilding the Kingdom-A Seattle Mariners 2021

          TEAM REPORT CONTINUED!!!

Breakdown of the Pitching at All 3 levels.

          STARTING ROTATION

          MLB

          #1 Marco Gonzales (13 GS 81 IP 4-3 3.32 ERA)
Gonzo missed 3 weeks on on the DL leading to the the M's resigning the "King" but with 3 years left on his deal, is still considered to be the current and future #1 until Kirby/Gilbert/Hancock take over that role.

          #2 James Paxton (16 GS 97 IP 6-5 3.51 ERA)
Big Maple rejoined the M's after 34 starts in New York and so far is pitching better then expected. He is on pace to have one of his best seasons. Only on a 1 year deal for 8.5 mil, now the question is does Sands try and extend the 32 yr old or will the Trio be ready to take over next season.

          #3 Yusie Kikuchi (16 GS 87 IP 4-6 4.12 ERA)
He is on pace to play better then 2019 when he made 32 starts. The Lefty from Japan will most likely never be more then a #3/#4 and at 14.3 mil this season with 3 years of potential ARB, Sands might cut bait with him early if the Trio proves ready to go next year.

          #4A Justin Sheffield (13 GS 62 IP 6-8 6.82 ERA)
Sheffield started out the year as the team's #4 but 8 loss's and a 6.82 ERA later he has moved to the bullpen as a long relief option hoping to find his grove that made him a 1st Round pick in the 2014 draft.

          #4B Kendall Graveman (9 GS 59 IP 5-3 4.10 ERA)
Graveman has battled injuries most of his career. Probably a better option in relief but has been forced to fill in as the #4 until Sheffield finds his grove.

          #5A Justin Dunn (5 GS 1-4 22 IP 8.59 ERA)
The 19th pick Overall of the 2016 draft came to Seattle via the NY Mets in the Diaz/Cano, Bruce/Kelenic trade. He made 10 starts in 2020 going 4-1 with a 4.34 ERA but struggled this season leading to a demotion to AAA.

          #5B Felix Hernandez (7 GS 47 IP 4-0 2.47 ERA)
The former "King" made is return with the injury of Gonzo and demotion of Dunn and has so far pitched like a CY Young candidate leading to Sands extending him with a option for 2022. Hernandez could be the perfect veteran presence to help with transition of the "Trio".

          AAA

          #1 Logan Gilbert (14 GS 78 IP 6-1 3.58 ERA)
The 14th Overall pick in the 2018 draft is proving he is ready to make his MLB debut. Look for Gilbert be in the rotation by the end of July.

          #2 George Kirby (14 GS 75 IP 2-6 5.04 ERA)
The 20th Overall pick in the 2019 draft, Kirby has not found the same success as Gilbert so far in Tacoma and looks to be at least a full season away from making his debut.

          #3 Edward Cabrera (15 GS 63 IP 3-6 4.81 ERA)
The former #5 prospect for the Marlins, Cabrera came over in the Dickerson trade and has yet to really live up to his full potential (A). However at 21 yrs old he still has time. Will most likely spend the season in AAA and battle Dunn for a future job as the #5.

          #4 Justin Dunn (11 GS 58 IP 2-5 5.52 ERA)
Dunn's struggles didn't stop once he got demoted to AAA. He will most likely spend the rest of the season in Tacoma and hopes to fight for the #5 spot in the M"s rotation next year

          #5 Chris Flexen (9 GS 77 IP 5-5 3.13 ERA)
Flexen actually made 2 spot start's in Seattle this season going 1-0 with a ERA of 8.68 He has a chance to battle Caberea and Dunn for the #5 spot but also could move to the bullpen as long relief if he want's to stick with the M's fulltime.

          AA

          #1 Emerson Hancock (10 GS 59 IP 6-2 3.36 ERA)
The 6th Overall pick of the 2020 draft, Hancock appears ready to make the jump to AAA.

          #2 Ian McKinney (10 GS 54 IP 4-3, 3.83 ERA)
The former 5th round pick by the Cardinals in 2016, he owns a 44-25 record in 5 seasons in the minors. At 25, he could be destine for a bullpen role if he wants to make the Majors at a fulltime basis.

          #3 Robert Dugger (7 GS 41 IP 2-2 1.52 ERA)
Dugger came over via the Marlins and actually has 11 career games for Miami including 8 starts going 0-4 with a 7.40 ERA. Only 24 yrs old, look for Dugger to move up to AAA at some points this season.

          #4 Brandon Williamson(10 GS 54 IP 3-1 2.98 ERA)
Another young lefty. The 2nd Round pick in 2019 has pitched well and is currently ranked the #9 prospect in the M's farm system.

          #5 Isiah Campbell (20 G/4 GS/ 53 IP 6-1 2.52 ERA)
Ranked the #13 prospect, Campbell was a Competitive Balance pick. He started out in Long relief but moved to the rotation after pitching well in relief and has won 3 straight starts.

          LONG RELIEF

          MLB-Casey Sadler (33 G, 66 IP, 1-5 3.92 ERA)
Sadler has logged alot of innings and at times has been dominating and others times not so great. In 2019 Sadler had his best season going 4-0 with a save in 46 IP

          MLB/AAA Nick Margevicius (35 IP 1-1 2.57 ERA, 48 IP 3-3 2 saves 2.44 ERA)
Margevicus is one of those guy's who typically is a long relief option out of the pen. He should head back to Seattle by the All-Star break.

          MLB/AAA Juan Then (51 IP 1-2 2.81 ERA)
Ranked the #10 prospect by the M's, was traded to the Yankees but was brought back. Only 20 yrs old, Then was signed as a International player at just 16. Should make his debut this season and could earn a bullpen role in 2022.

AA Darren McCaughan (8 GS 47 IP, 1-4 3.23 ERA)
Was the 2019 POY for the Travelers but has struggled to find run support, he should rejoin the rotation once some promotions happen

          MIDDLE RELIEF

          MLB

RHP Wyatt Mills (16 IP) 1-1 1.62 ERA)
The former Gonzaga Bulldog was a 3rd round pick by the M's in 2017. Probably will never be considered for a CP role but is someone to turn to in the 7th/8th to get the M's to their main man.

          LHP Tanner Scott (20 IP, 0-1 3 BS, 8 HLD, 6.20 ERA)
Once considered a Top prospect by the Orioles, Scott came over last month in a deal with the Birds to give the M's another lefty option out of the pin. He has both a 4 seama and 2 seam Fastball that hits 97-100.

RHP Erik Swanson (28 IP 1-1 1 Save, 3.77 ERA)
Swanson is a former 8th round pick by the Rangers, he came over via the Yankees in the Paxton deal in 2018. He made 8 starts in 2019 going 1-5 well also posting 2 saves. in 2020 he appeared in just 7 IP going 0-2 posting a 12.91 ERA.

RHP Domingo Tapia (30 IP 5-1 1 Save, 2.97 ERA)
Former Top Mets prospect, played for Boston in 2020 pitching 4 IP. He has both a 4 seam and 2 seam fastball that reaches 1000 mph and could potentially earn a role as a closer should Giles get traded, for now he is tied for 3rd on the team in Wins with 5.

RHP Keynan Middleton (14 IP 2 Saves, 14 Holds)
Former Angel has earned the role of 8th inning setupman, despite a bloated ERA. He had 6 saves and a 2.04 ERA in 17 IP in 2018 for L.A.

          AAA

LHP Anthony Misewicz (10 IP 9.28 ERA in MLB, 6 IP 1-0 1.42 ERA in AAA)
Misiewic started the year in the pen in Seattle but struggled. So far in Tacoma has preformed well. As a lefty he should always have a chance to find a roster spot somewhere.

RHP Paul Sewald (23 IP 1-1 3 saves 1.90 ERA)
The former NY Met has logged 147 IP at the MLB level but is 1-14 with a 5.50 ERA. So far he is pitching well in Tacoma and should get a chance at some MLB IP this season.

LHP Aaron Fletcher (8 IP 4 holds 1.04 ERA)
Made his MLB debut last year pitching 4 IP well posting a 12.90 ERA. Like Misewics as a lefty and the fact he is on the 40 man roster, I am guessing he will get his chance at some point to make a MLB return.

RHP Rafael Montero (3 IP 10.80 ERA MLB, 4 IP 3 Holds 0.00 ERA)
Posted 8 saves in 2020 for the Rangers after starting his career with the Mets as a starter. (5-11 in 18 starts in 2017). Currently trying to find his grove out of the pen and be a 8th IP option to bring back up at the All-Star Break.

          AA

RHP Yohan Ramirez (19 IP 2-1 1 save, 1.83 ERA)
The only player in AA on the 40 man roster. Ramirez pitched 20 IP in 2020 for the M's and saved 3 games well posting a 2.61 ERA. With a 96-98 MPH 4 seam and 2 seam fastball he is viewed as a potential late inning option.

RHP Brady Lail (6 IP 1-0 0.00 ERA)
Lail has made his MLB debut with the Yankees in 2019 (2.2 IP) and Blue Jays (16.1 IP) in 2020. He has 5 pitches and could work his way into a long relief role.

LHP Jaret Gutu (8.2 IP 3 holds, 8.31 ERA)
Gutu has a 90+ running fastball and some potential (B) but is most likely a trade piece moving forward.

          RHP Conner Phillips (21 IP, 2-1 5 saves 9 holds, 2.14 ERA)
The 64th selection of the 2020 draft, is just 19 year old. With another year or 2 in the minors and with all the promotions look for him to jump from his current ranking of #19 prospect to Top-10 next year and could be a closing option in 2023-2024.

RHP Kyle Wilcox (5 IP 4 holds 0.00 ERA)
Another hard throwing 7th/8th IP option At 25 he most likely could be a career Minor leaguer.

          CLOSER

          MLB Ken Giles (21 IP 0-2 19 saves 1 blown, 2.53 ERA)
The former Astro/Blue Jay has been pretty dominating so far and is 3rd in the AL with the most saves so far. He is signed through next season, but could be in line for a extension..

          AAA-Andres Munoz (24 IP 17 saves 1.48 ERA)
Brought over with Trammel in the Austin Nola trade. Munoz has logged MLB IP with the Padres in 2019. He has the talent and stuff to be a future CP for the M's should Giles get traded or not resigned.

AA- Darrell Zuniga (16 IP 1-0 12 saves, 2.16 ERA)
Zuniga is running out of time. At 28 yrs old, he is probably a career minor leaguer, but he throws hard and should have a spot on a roster at least for a year or two. (71 Overall/D Potential)

BRYANT TO THE M'S RUMORS HEATING UP!!

Mariner GM Ryan Sands has been very clear that seeing Kris Bryant in a Mariner uniform is something he would like to see. Now the question is does the Mariners try and trade for Bryant with a agreement of a long term in place in 2021 or do the M's stand pat with their roster and wait and hopes of securing Bryant in the off-season as a Free Agent?

Bryant a 3 time All-Star and former MVP is in the mist of another All-Star MVP type season. He is currently batting .289 with 11 HR and 46 RBI in 273 AB's well playing 5 positions for the Cubs (1B/3B/OF).

Some might say where would Bryant play in Seattle. With 3B Kyle Seager having a great year of his own and former Brewer Ryan Braun in the midst of his own MVP type season at 1B, as well as the OF soon to be crowded with young talent like Kyle Lewis, Jared Kelenic and Julio Rodriguez., but Ryan Sands feel confident with a bat like Bryant in the M's lineup they will find a way.

            Sands
"Bryant is the type of player who can give you production 1-5 and can play at a elite level at 5 positions. With Seager in the last year of his contract at 3B and Evan White still a ?? at 1B plus the ability to put him in the OF plus a game once a week at DH, we feel like we can keep his bat in the lineup no matter who we face."
Reports are the Cubs are trying to hold out for 1 of the Big 3 (Gilbert,Kirby,Hancock) but reports are the M's say none of their Top-5 prospects are going anywhere.

Rumors are a package built around current MLB/AAA Jake Fraley,as well SP Juan Then (#10 prospect), AAA 3B Joe Rizzo and possibly 1 other player that might include MLB/AAA SP Justin Dunn or even current SS JP Crawford who could allow the Cubs to move Javier Baez to 3B for the remainder of the season.

              BUSY WEEK AROUND THE LEAGUE

Well the Official Trade Deadline is still weeks away, several teams made moves this past week including 3 teams from the AL West.

              SEATTLE

GM Ryan Sands was a busy man this week dealing 3 OF's as he shores up other positions and opens up a possible roster roster spot for Cubs Kris Bryant to join the team.

Sands first sent OF Jake Fraley to the Boston Red Sox for veteran LHP RP Darwinzon Hernandez.

              Sands
"LHP out of the Bullpen is a hot commodity and we have had several discussions with current players on our roster as well as having Hernandez's name come up as well"
Hernandez was 3-4 with 2 saves in 26 IP this season well posting a ERA of 8.44. At 24 yrs old Hernandez has a chance to grow into a dependable option out of the pen.

Sands trade #2 sent 1B/OF Jose Marmolejos to the St Louis Cardinals for 22 yr old 1B Luken Barker. The 76 Overall selection in the 2018 Draft has struggled this season hitting just .213 with 2 HR and 13 RBI but was considered to be a Top-20 prospect for the Cardinals (A potential, 58 Overall)

Barker will be assigned to AA Arkansas.

Trade #3 saw Veteran OF Cory Dickerson head home to Colorado where he spent his first 3 seasons including a All-Star season in 2014.

Coming back to Seattle is IF Ryan McMahon. McMahon was hitting .186 with 3 HR and 11 RBI in 102 AB's so far this season but is just 2 years removed from hitting .250 with 24 HR and 83 RBI in 2019.

McMahon will report to AAA Tacoma where he is scheduled to start at 1B, but McMahon can also play 2B and 3B as well.

Reports are McMahon could potentially be packaged to Chicago in the Bryant deal as the 26 yr old still has 3 years of ARB before becoming a FA in 2025.

              ANGEL'S

L.A. is currently in 1st place in the AL West and despite a OF that already had Dexter Fowler (.310 12 HR 24 RBI), Justin Upton (.250 8 HR 33 RBI) and mega star Mike Trout (.299 19 HR 50 RBI), the Angels just added 2 more power hitting OF's acquiring Teoscar Hernandez (.219 21 HR 46 RBI) from the Blue Jays and Franmil Reyes (.262 17 HR 53 RBI) from the Indians for Catcher Max Stassi.

Could this be the end of Albert Pujols (.240 2 HR 7 RBI) at 1B/DH for the Angels?

              ATHLETICS

Marcus Semien finished 3rd in the AL MVP voting in 2019 hitting .285 with 33 HR and 92 RBI for the A's. But in 2020 he signed a 1 year deal with the Toronto Blue Jay's, now Semien is heading back home, as Oakland sents 3B Porter Whitt and SP Trey Sukekup North.

              YANKEES

New York bolster their rotation acquiring former Atlanta Brave Ace Julio Teheran.

Teheran pitched in 9 games for the Angels in 2020 before signing a deal with the Detroit Tigers in 2021. He was 5-7 with a 3.83 ERA in 11 starts for the Tigers.

Going back to Detroit is SS Wilkerman Garcia. The 23 yr old can play 2B and 3B as well and is expected to report to AAA Toledo.

              TAMPA BAY

Austin Meadows is headed to the Cardinals for CP Jason Ferrell.

The former 9th Overall pick of the 2013 Draft is headed back to the NL. Meadows made his debut in 2019 and ended up making the All-Star game finishing the year hitting .291 with 33 HR and 89 RBI. But a Covid shorten season saw Austin hit just .205 with 4 HR and 13 RBI in 132 AB's for the Rays as he fell out of favor with the current management team. This season Meadows was hitting .260 with 13 HR and 43 RBI.

**To be honest this trade makes no sense, but sadly I don't have full control of all the teams**

Re: Rebuilding the Kingdom-A Seattle Mariners 2021

For Ryan Sands landing All-Star and former MVP Kris Bryant has been a target for the past 2 weeks. The Mariner GM finally got the deal done.

Seattle is sending SP Justin Dunn, SP Juan Then, OF Zach DeLoach, 3B Joe Rizzio for Bryant and both teams are swapping a pair of struggling catchers with the M's sending Luis Torrens to the Cubs with former Colorado Rockies Tony Wolters heading back to the the M's along with Bryant.

Dunn the former NY Met 1st Round Pick in 2016 came over via the Edwin Diaz/Robinson Cano deal, and was projected to be the M's #4 SP this year but struggled going 1-4 with a ERA of 8.89, Then is the M's #10 Prospect didn't crack the starting rotation in AAA Tacoma but had pitched well out of the Bullpen posting a ERA of 2.31.

This marks the 2nd time the 20 yr old has been traded by the Mariners as he was dealt to the Yankees.

DeLoach was the M's 2nd Round pick in 2020 after winning the 2019 Battling Title in the Cape Cod league, but with several prospects rated higher then him already ready to make their MLB debut, DeLoach' path to the Majors won't be as blocked in Chicago.

Rizzo was the Mariners 2nd round pick in the 2018 draft as a 18 yr old High Schooler, Rizzo has hit well in the Minors and before the the M's acquired Ty France was viewed as Kyle Seager's potential replacement.

The swap of Torrens and Wolters is a chance for each player to hopefully produce better in a chance of scenery.

Wolters a 3 year starter for Colorado was originally a 3rd round pick by the Indians. In 2020 after just 42 games played, the Rockies elected to not tender Wolters a contract making him a Free Agent, he signed a 1 year deal with the Cubs but failed to the rotation and was sent to AAA Iowa.

Torrens acquired last year from the Padres hit well when he first got to Seattle and was expected to back up Tom Murphy this season but struggled to hit above .180 and was optioned to Tacoma.

                  Sands
"I ran the trade through several simulators and well we might have overpaid for Bryant according to most, we still fill very happy to finally have the deal done. Dunn is a exceptional pitcher who has had a rough start and sometimes it's good for a guy to get a chance to succeed somewhere else. We feel the same about Torrens and Wolters. Hopefully both players will find some success with the move. We like Troy's left handed bat which we feel will be valuable in a platoon role and help mentor Cal as he comes up next year to be our #1."

                    SANDS DEALS AGAIN!!

On the same day GM Ryan Sands dealt for Catcher Troy Walters, Sands dealt his former Rockies teammate veteran Tom Murphy to the Braves. Murphy who hit 18 HR's in 2019 missed all of 2020 with fractured left foot. This season Murphy started out as the team's #1 Catcher but lost AB's when the M's traded for Wellington Castillo. Murphy was hitting .160 with 3 HR at the time of the trade.

Coming back in the deal is another former Mariner, in Catcher Alex Jackson. The 6th Overall pick of the 2014 draft, Jackson has yet to make the impact that many thought he would make in his first 6 years recording just 7 AB's at the Major league league, but he has shown the ability to hit for power at the minor leagues including 19 HR's in 2017.

                    Sands
"Despite Tom's poor #'s this year we had had 10 teams call with offers. After talking about it it was very clear we still have several in the organization who think very highly of Alex and his potential. I know at the time of the trade it was tough to let him go but we felt it was important to shore up our bullpen and felt very good about our catching situation with "Z". We are excited to get Alex back and give him a chance to compete with Cal for a role at the major league level soon"

Ayeeee, LOVE the trade for Bryant. I mean honestly, with the pitching prospects you have you really didn't need Dunn (and especially after seeing his record/ERA this year) or Then. And if you're getting Bryant and have Ty France, you honestly don't need Rizzio. Just a flat out great trade.

And make sure you don't let Bryant hit Free Agency!

Yeah being a Cubs guy too, Bryant has been a favorite for along time. It makes me sad to see the Cubs not spend the money to keep him, but all signs are pointing to him going elsewhere.

Having alot of young guy's on the M's helps me with my budget. I plan on giving him a big deal. From everything I am ready it looks like 30-35 mil is what it's going to take to get him signed in real life so will be interesting to see what the game thinks..

At this point the plan is to probably play France at 2B if possible but IRL again France is starting to look like a DH more so then a 3B, but as you will soon see, Evan White can't seem to stay healthy, he missed the first 2 months of the season and now he just hit the DL again for another 2 months so France or Bryant could be a longterm option at 1B as well and maybe I resign Seager for another couple years if he keeps playing like this.

                        .

M'S GO INTO BREAK 1 GAME ABOVE .500

The Mariner's managed to take 2/3 games from the Yankees and 2/3 from the Angels and will go into the All-Star Break sitting at (46-45) on the season, tied with Los Angeles for 2nd place in the AL-West (2.0) games back of the Houston Astros for 1st place and (4.5) games back of the Twins in the Wildcard race.

Both Dylan Moore and Ty France went deep well Y. Cespedes drove in 2 runs with a double.

James Paxton went 6 IP giving up 2 runs on 8 hits well striking out 6 but got the no-decision as Tanner Scott picks up the "W" out of the pin pitching the 8th. Ken Giles got his 21st save of the season.

NEW YORK GAME 3 (LOST 6-1)

Kris Bryant made his debut playing 1B with Evan White hitting the 60-day DL for the 2nd time this season. Bryant batted 2nd and finished 1/4.

Kyle Lewis drove in the only run with a solo HR.

Marco Gonzales made his return from the DL pitching 6 IP giving up 5 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks well striking out 4 as he drops to (4-5) on the season.

                          L.A. ANGELS GAME 1 (WON 11-3)

M'S MUST DECIDE ON CRAWFORD'S FUTURE?

The Seattle Mariners face a big decision on J.P. Crawford, a Gold Glove defender yet to consistently produce at the plate. Is Crawford the team’s long-term answer at shortstop? Or, does Seattle pursue a more accomplished replacement at a position teeming with elite-level hitters?

Next offseason, a relatively large class of premier shortstops are projected to hit the free agent market. Candidates potentially available to the Mariners and 29 other teams include Francisco Lindor, Javier Báez, Carlos Correa, Corey Seager, and Trevor Story.

All are All-Stars, several were Silver Slugger winners, two were MVP finalists. If Mariners GM Ryan Sands felt his young roster gelled in 2021 and was on the verge of something special, would he pursue any of these acclaimed shortstops next winter?

Perhaps, but it likely depends on how the Mariners view Crawford. Despite the absence of a power stroke, it’s understandable why Philadelphia drafted him so high and how his potential intrigued Dipoto. He’s hard-working, athletic, a great defender, and demonstrates excellent plate discipline. With more power, Seattle would have an all-star caliber player. A less expensive, younger option than the stars of next year’s free agent class.

That’s why this season will be pivotal in determining Crawford’s future with the Mariners. Sticking with him past 2021 means Dipoto and Sands bypasses a chance at signing Lindor, Correa, Seager, Story, or Báez to anchor the middle of his infield.

To date, a compelling argument can’t be made for keeping Crawford rather than pursue one of these star shortstops. So far this season Crawford is hitting just .212 with 2 HR and 23 RBI in 269 AB's.

With the Trade Deadline just a few weeks away should Sands try and move Crawford for a potential prospect or 2 or does he just ride out the season and what to make a decision this off-season.

BRAUN AND GILES HEADED TO ATLANTA

1B/DH Ryan Braun is going to be a All-Star one more time. Braun who signed a 1 year with the M's at the end of Spring Training when 1B Evan White hit the 60 day DL has been a major reason for the M"s ability to play .500 ball this season.

Braun so far this season is batting .279 with a team high 22 HR and 66 RBI despite being 37 yrs old. Braun's play has led many teams including the M"s to inquire about his desire to play beyond the 2021 season.

Well Braun is well deserving of a All-Star bid and should be celebrated. The final voting also left a sour taste in the mouth of many Mariner fan's.

3B Kyle Seager is also in the middle of a career year hitting a career best .301, Seager has also hit 13 HR and has 43 RBI, and OF/DH Yoenis Cespedes also a late Free Agent signing is even doing it better hitting .360 with 16 HR and 49 RBI with a insane .653 SLG%.

Yet neither player will be joining Braun in Atlanta.

SP Felix Hernandez has been a feel good story as well going 5-1 in his first 8 starts with the club, but he too is staying home.

Instead only CP Ken Giles will be headed South. Giles despite a 0-3 record has been pretty lights out all season for the M's with 23 saves in 25 2/3 IP giving up just 9 runs on 14 hits (3.16 ERA_ well striking out 33.

                              Mariner Manager Scott Servais
"Well I am really proud and excited for Ryan, it's a dam shame that Kyle and Cespedes are not going as well. Yoenis's stats are worthy of not just a All-Star bid but a MVP award"
