Re: The Coaching Legacy of Danny Carmichael (CH 2K8)
December 29, 2010: North Florida vs. Radford
Radford avoids a devastating upset as they pull off the victory in the final seconds of the game to win 70-67.
With 18 seconds left, Freshman SF Latece Mathis just grabbed his 7th rebound of the ball game and Radford Coach Danny Carmichael had just called a time out.
So, the ball was inbounded to Freshman PG Josh Tigert who waited at the top of the key for Latece Mathis to come off his screen. When Mathis did, Tigert hit him in the chest with the pass, and Mathis launched the wide open three and drained it with just 5.3 seconds left in the game to give the Highlanders the 70-67 lead!
North Florida, out of timeouts, tried to pass the ball inbounds when Sophomore SG Kenny Andrews came out of nowhere to tip the pass. By the time any one got a hold of the ball time had expired and the Highlanders escaped with the 3 point victory!!
Radford was definitely led by Freshman SF Latece Mathis who had a great game! Mathis scored a game high 20 points on 6/12 shooting and 7/8 from the free throw line. Mathis also grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. Sophomore C Marquis Peterson finished with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Sophomore SG Kenny Andrews only scored 6 points, but he dished out a game high 7 assists. Sophomore PG Cedrick Covington finished with 8 points off the bench as he made 3 of 4 shot attempts in just 10 minutes of playing time.
North Florida was led in scoring by role player, Junior SF Prosper Hobbs. Hobbs came off the bench and scored a team high 14 points and shot 4/4 from the court in just 10 minutes of playing time. Sophomore PG Thor Joseph also came off the bench and scored 10 points in just 13 minutes of playing time. Senior PF Braxton Ramlow was the only starter to finish in double figures in scoring as Ramlow put up 11 points. Senior PF Courtland Osimani was very close to a double double as he finished with 9 points and 8 rebounds.
2010 Final Record: 31-5

Well... Good news and bad news...
My file somehow got corrupted. This has happened to me once before which is why I always keep a backup. But, I forgot to save my progress throughout the season, so my backup file started from the beginning of the season.
Luckily I was able to recreate the results of the games from this season but the scores definitely are not the same... Which means all the box scores and stats I've posted so far are not going to be the same.
Because of that, I'm just going to post the rest of the results of the season and the stats from this new save file.
Sorry about this and I'll make sure to save my backup file more often.

Re: The Coaching Legacy of Danny Carmichael (CH 2K8)

Danny Carmichael accepts Gonzaga Coaching Position
Spokane, WA -- Former Gonzaga coach Mark Few took the DePaul opening earlier this week. And just 4 days later, Gonzaga has already hired their top candidate.
Danny Carmichael.
Carmichael, 29, was the head coach at Radford University for the past 4 seasons. In those 4 seasons he took a program that only won 8 games the year prior to his arrival and turned them into a team that won 33 games and just got off an Elite 8 appearance.
In his 4 seasons at Radford Carmichael's Radford records are as follows:
2007-2008: 13-15
2008-2009: 21-10: First Round of NCAA Tournament
2009-2010: 31-4: Second Round of NCAA Tournament
2010-2011: 33-4: Elite 8 Appearance
Total: 98-33
So, not only are the Bulldogs getting a proven winner in Carmichael... But, they're also getting one of the nation's top recruiters. What Carmichael did recruiting wise at Radford was nothing less than amazing.
Radford has historically never recruited on a national level, but in 3 recruiting classes under Danny Carmichael, their lowest recruiting class ranking was #52. Their highest recruiting ranking was #18 with this past 2010 class which included 4 top 150 players in the country.
This is an absolute home run higher for this Gonzaga program whose last NCAA Tournament appearance was in 2009.
Gonzaga went 24-11 (8-6) this past year and is just coming off a loss in the NIT Championship Game to Alabama.

Re: The Coaching Legacy of Danny Carmichael (CH 2K8)
Wow very surprised you made the jump with the group of kids you brought to Radford, i thought you had planned on staying and turning Radford into a Gonzaga type program.
Obviously the WCC will be a little tougher then the Big South, but because of you recruiting abilities, you will soon fine that you probably won't get challenged much conference wise, so like Gonzaga in real life I hope to see you challenge yourself with alot of tough non-conference matchup's. However also in case you don't know this, most won't come to Spokane to play in the Kennell, so Gonzaga ends up having to win all those games on the road.
Also another key rivalry matchup is playing Washington and WSU so don't forget to put them on your non-conferece schedule. Typically UW hasn't been willing to come to Spokane in the past and the Zags end up having to play every year in Seattle, but I believe recently they did finally agree to a home/away setup, just like WSU has.
