    Week 8 Results

    January 2, 2014: #19 Gonzaga 78, Charleston Southern 69

Surprisingly, this one was a fight until the end. But, the undefeated Bulldogs managed to pull out a 78-69 victory.

Charleston Southern took a 44-42 lead going into halftime. It was an awful defensive effort for Gonzaga, but they turned it around in a big way in the 2nd half as they held the Buccaneers to just 25 points.

Gonzaga was led by Sophomore SG Keithan Krager who scored a team high 16 points on 6-10 shooting from the floor. Krager also finished with 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

Sophomore C Doug Montgomery finished with a double double in just 21 minutes of playing time as he finished with 12 points and 11 boards. He also blocked 2 shots. Junior PF Vernon Lopez also finished with 12 points. Lopez finished 5-11 from the floor and added 5 rebounds to his stat line.

For the second straight game, Sophomore PF Gabriel Temple came off the bench and scored 10 points. Temple was 4-7 shooting and 1-2 from the free throw line in his 11 minutes of playing time.

Despite only scoring 69 points, Charleston Southern had some players put up some really good numbers. The Buccaneers were led by Redshirt Senior PG Vitor Schaen who scored a game high 20 points on 8-18 shooting. Schaen also finished with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.

Junior SF Jaason Wyatt was just one point away from a double double. Wyatt finished with 9 points and grabbed a whopping 14 rebounds in 31 minutes of playing time.

Senior PF Samuel Pittman finished with 10 points (3-8 shooting from the floor and 4-4 from the free throw line) and pulled down 8 boards. Finally, sixth man Junior SF Jean-Baptiste Harper, came off the bench and scored 10 minutes in 21 minutes of playing time. Harper was 2-5 shooting from the floor and 5-6 from the free throw line.

With this win, Gonzaga's record is now a perfect 14-0 as they finish up non-conference play in 4 days when they travel to Oregon State to take on the 8-7 Beavers.

          Week 9 Results: Part 1

          January 6, 2014: #17 Gonzaga 68, Oregon State 66

In a thrilling 2 point road victory at Oregon State, the #17 Gonzaga Bulldogs made it to Conference play with an undefeated record of 15-0.

Gonzaga was led by Sophomore C Doug Montgomery. Montgomery finished with a team high 16 points on 5-11 shooting from the floor and 6-9 shooting from the Free Throw Line in just 21 minutes of playing time.

Junior PF Vernon Lopez who put up a double double. Lopez finished with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Thank the Lord for Free Throws, because if it weren't for them, he wouldn't have gotten anywhere close to 10 points. Lopez was unbelievably bad shooting the ball. He made just 2 shots out of 14 attempts.

Freshman PG Anil Howard did a little bit of everything tonight. Howard finished with 10 points (perfect 4-4 from the floor), 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 1 steal. However, he turned the ball over 5 times, but that's to be expected when you play a Power 5 conference team on the road.

Oregon State was led by Senior C Jess Messy. Messy came off the bench and scored a team high 14 points in 19 minutes of playing time. Messy finished 5-10 from the floor and 3-6 from the Free Throw line. He got extended playing time tonight as starting Center, Coleman Ricci, found himself in foul trouble early and ultimately fouled out late in the 2nd half.

Junior SF Tony Hood finished with 12 points on 3-10 shooting. However, Hood finished 4-4 from the charity stripe and also added 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 assist to his stat line.

Also receiving an extended role tonight was Freshman PG Joel Wallace who finished with 11 points in 21 minutes of playing time off the bench. Wallace finished 4-11 shooting from the floor, but shot 3-5 from 3 point range. He also added 5 assists to his stat line.

Conference play begins for Gonzaga as they will travel to the Saint Mary's Gaels (7-4) in 5 days.

Week 9 Results: Conference Play Opener

              January 11, 2014: #17 Gonzaga 86, Saint Mary's 80

The Gonzaga Bulldogs started off WCC play with an exciting 86-80 win over the Saint Mary's Gaels to push their record to a perfect 16-0.

The Bulldogs were led by Sophomore C Doug Montgomery who had a fantastic game as he finished with a double double. Montgomery scored 20 points (7-17 shooting from the floor, 6-9 from the free throw line) and grabbed 13 rebounds. Montgomery's 13 rebounds accounted for 48% of Gonzaga's rebound total.

Junior PF Vernon Lopez made up for his unbelievably awful shooting performance against Oregon State. Lopez finished with 18 points despite making only 2 of 6 shot attempts. Lopez scored 14 of his 18 points from the Free Throw Line.

Senior SG Elton Briggs came off the bench when Keithan Krager got his 4th foul in the 2nd half and was a huge spark in a close game. The senior scored 12 points in just 9 minutes of playing time. He shot 3-4 from the floor including a perfect 2-2 from 3 point range and 4-4 from the free throw line.

Saint Mary's was led by a pair of starters who scored 16 points in 20 points or less. Star Junior C Demond Randle scored 16 points on 7-14 shooting in just 20 minutes of playing time due to foul trouble. Then Sophomore SF Lanny Brand scored 16 points and was extremely efficient shooting the ball in his 18 minutes of playing time. Brand shot 4-5 from the floor, 2-3 from 3 point range, and was a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe.

Sixth Man, Freshman PF Jorge BRO, had the best game of his young college career. BRO finished with career highs in points and rebounds. He scored 15 points (5-9 shooting from the floor, 4-6 from the free throw line) and grabbed 7 boards. The Gaels will have a really solid 4 man for the foreseeable future with current starter (and rebounding machine) Rulon Shimokawa along with the true Freshman, Jorge Bro coming off the bench for the next 2 years.

Exactly one week from today, Gonzaga will play in their conference home opener against the Santa Clara Broncos.

                January 18, 2014: #13 Gonzaga 72, Santa Clara 50

If we can consistently play half court defense like this, going undefeated this year wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. Santa Clara shot 29% from the floor and 9% from 3 point range. Despite not forcing a lot of turnovers, this was the best defensive performance from any team I've ever coached.

We were led by Freshman SF Ashton Reece who came off of the bench and provided us with 24 quality minutes. Reece finished with a game high 19 points on 5-7 shooting from the floor and 8-8 from the free throw line.

Junior PF Vernon Lopez posted another double double as he finished with 14 points (5-9 shooting from the floor, 3-4 from the free throw line) and 10 boards in 29 minutes of playing time. And Sophomore C Doug Montgomery finished just 1 rebound short of his 2nd straight double double. Montgomery finished with 12 points, 9 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots. He was also tasked with matching up against Santa Clara's Vern Maye who is arguably the best player in the WCC and a fantastic job.

I'd also like to point out the playmaking efforts of Freshman PG Michael Yates. Yates didn't shoot the ball well, but he dished out 11 assists in just 24 minutes off the bench as he got extended playing time with Anil Howard in foul trouble.

Senior PF Vern Maye was the only player for Santa Clara to hit double figures in scoring. Maye finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds. He had his least efficient scoring effort so far this year as he made just 4 of his 13 shot attempts thanks to the stifling defense by Montgomery and Lopez.

While no other Bronco scored more than 7 points, it's important to note that Santa Clara has a couple of true Freshmen with high potential who have bright futures ahead of them. SG Kirk Hicks and PF Allen Diaz both have A- potential, so if coached well, they'll both probably turn into All-WCC caliber players in the future.

                  January 20, 2014: #9 Gonzaga 78, San Francisco 66

With their 78-66 win over San Francisco, Gonzaga is now one of only 2 undefeated teams left in College Basketball.

Gonzaga was led by Junior PF Vernon Lopez who finished with a game high 23 points. Lopez shot 7-14 from the floor, 1-3 from 3 point range, and made 8 of 10 free throw attempts. It's getting to the point where if we need clutch Free Throws at the end of a game, we'll turn to Lopez. He seems to be the most consistent Free Throw shooter on the team.

Sophomore SG Keithan Krager had an all around solid game. He finished with 13 points (5-10 shooting from the floor). He also grabbed 7 boards, dished out 6 assists, and had 2 steals. Really solid all around game for the Sophomore.

Sophomore C Doug Montgomery, yet again, came close to another double double. He finished with 8 points and 9 boards, while also blocking 4 shots in 30 minutes of playing time.

San Francisco had a couple starters turn in really productive outings... However, both ended up in foul trouble. Senior C Petroslav Minor finished with a team high 14 points (5-14 shooting), but finished with 4 fouls and only played 18 minutes. Sophomore SG Christian Berry finished with 13 points. Berry shot the ball really well as he finished 4-8 shooting, 3-4 from 3 point range, and 2-2 from the free throw line. However, he fouled out late in this game.

Sixth man, Sophomore SG Van Doss, finished with 12 points in a very solid 16 minute effort. Doss shot 4-6 from the floor and made all 4 of his 3 point attempts. He also dished out 6 assists and came up with 2 steals.

                  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                  January 25, 2014: #9 Gonzaga 90, Loyola Marymount 69

In what was probably our best shooting performance to date, we pushed our winning streak to 19 straight wins in a 90-69 win over Loyola Marymount. We shot 58% from the floor and 56% from 3 point range. I won't get into Free Throw shooting, I'm sure you know how I feel about that by this point.

We were led by Sophomore SF Sammy Sola who finished with a season high 25 points on 9-18 shooting from the floor, 2-5 shooting from 3 point range, and 5-8 from the free throw line. He also finished with 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal. This was arguably the best individual performance from any of our players this year.

Junior PF Vernon Lopez continues to be a steady scorer for us as he put up 13 points on 4-7 shooting. He managed to drain 2 of his 3 3 point attempts and he made 3 of 4 free throw attempts. This was all in just 15 minutes of playing time due to foul trouble.

No one else had more than 10 points on our team, but it was a balanced scoring attack for us. Our bench in particular played extremely well. They combined to make 13 shots out of 19 attempts. We also only turned the ball over a season low 8 times which is a HUGE improvement.

Loyola Marymount was led by Senior PG Collis Cannon. Cannon finished with a game high 22 points on 7-14 shooting. He was 4-10 from 3 point range and 4-10 from the free throw line.

The Lions' mountain of a Center, Vincent Snipes (7'3", 306 lbs.) finished with 11 points on 3-13 shooting and he only grabbed 2 rebounds. Now how the hell a 7'3", 306 lbs. player only grabs 2 rebounds is beyond me... But, I'll take it!

Then a pair of SF's put up 10 points each for the Lions. Starting SF Israel Polk finished with 10 points in just 13 minutes of playing time. His backup, Sophomore Francisco Goia, finished with 10 points in 15 minutes of playing time. Polk shot 3-7 from the floor, while Goia was a perfect 2-2 from 3 point range and made 4 of 5 free throws.

                    January 27, 2014: #8 Gonzaga 103, San Diego 84

With this win, not only is it our 20th straight win, but we're now the only undefeated team left in College Basketball!

Also, these next two games are so incredibly different if you look at the box score... Had to do a double take when looking at a few stats.

Anyway, Gonzaga was led by Sophomore rising stars, Sammy Sola and Doug Montgomery. Sola finished with a team high 23 points on 9-15 shooting from the floor and 5-6 from 3 point range. He also finished with 5 rebounds in 25 minutes of playing time. Doug Montgomery had his best all around performance of his career. He finished with 18 points on 9-14 shooting, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 blocks. Both of these guys are developing into stars.

Sophomore SG Keithan Krager and Freshman SF Ashton Reece both scored 11 points a piece. And Freshman PG Anil Howard was one bucket away from a double double. He finished with 8 points and 10 assists in 26 minutes of playing time.

San Diego was led by lightning quick Senior SG Drew Willis. Willis scored a game high 33 points on 12-23 shooting from the floor. He shot 4-9 from 3 point range and 5-6 from the free throw line.

Torero star PF Kurt Holton scored 15 points on 6-10 shooting and 3-4 from the free throw line. Holton did a little bit of everything for San Diego as he also finished with 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks.

Senior PF Ken Hoyer finished with 10 points in just 13 minutes of playing time off the bench and Freshman C Felipe Cunningham finished 2 points shy of a double double. Cunningham scored 8 points and grabbed a career high 16 rebounds.

                    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                    February 1, 2014: #8 Gonzaga 98, Pepperdine 67

The first half of this game was the best shooting display I've seen by any team I've ever coached. We put up 66 points in the first half of this game. It was unlike anything I've ever seen!

Sophomore C Doug Montgomery undoubtedly led the way with his career high 32 points. He was 9-24 shooting from the floor and 13-17 from the free throw line. He also added 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks to his stat line.

Freshman PG Anil Howard had a pretty solid shooting performance as he finished with 11 points on 2-4 shooting from the floor, 1-2 from 3 point range, and 6-8 from the free throw line.

A pair of Freshmen backups put up 10+ points in their limited playing time. Freshman PG Michael Yates scored 14 points in just 12 minutes of playing time while Freshman SG Timothy Bernard finished with 10 points in just 14 minutes of playing time.

Sophomore SG Keithan Krager stuffed the stat sheet tonight as he finished with 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists while only missing one shot.

The Waves' were led by Sophomore PF Alvaidas Bell. Bell finished with a team high 16 points on 7-14 shooting and would have been even more effective if he didn't get into foul trouble.

Junior C Bryan Devonish was the only other Pepperdine player to score in double figures as he scored 10 points on 5-18 shooting. He put up 18 shot attempts in just 20 minutes of playing time.

Up next we'll face our toughest WCC opponent, the Portland Pilots.

                      February 3, 2014: Portland 87, #6 Gonzaga 85

Our 21 game winning streak was finally snapped tonight as Portland beat us on a buzzer beater.

All around, it was a great scoring effort. Every single player that saw playing time scored. That's the first time that's happened all year.

Sophomore's Sammy Sola and Doug Montgomery led the way with 13 points a piece. Sola finished 4-5 shooting from the floor and 5-8 from the free throw line. Montgomery finished 5-10 from the floor and 3-4 from the free throw line.

Freshman PG Anil Howard was the only other player on our team to score in double figures. He scored 10 points on 4-5 shooting while also dishing out 4 assists.

Portland was led by star Senior PG Clark Leslie. Leslie finished with a double double as he scored 16 points (6-12 shooting, 4-8 from 3 point range) while dishing out 10 assists.

Junior SG Shantay Hicks scored a game high 22 points. He was incredibly efficient shooting the ball as he made 6 out of 9 shot attempts, 3 of 4 3 point attempts, and 7 of 8 free throw attempts.

Sophomore PF Jerald Cunningham was 1 rebound short of a double double as he scored 12 points and grabbed 9 boards. He shot 5-7 from the floor and 2-3 from the free throw line. Junior SG Blake Adeleke came off the bench and scored 13 points in 23 minutes of playing time.

We lost this game due to two reasons. The first is the fact that both of our starting big men fouled out. That hurt us a TON down the stretch and allowed Portland to come back late in the game. The second thing is our damn free throw shooting. I knew our first loss would be in part because we missed too many free throws. All year our free throw shooting has been awful, and tonight we shot 64% from the free throw line, yet our FG% and 3P% was both 58%. It doesn't make any sense.

However, we still have the best record in all of College Basketball and have a favorable schedule up until the end of the year. IF we can win out, a #1 seed won't be out of the question.

We'll look to rebound exactly one week from today as we take on Saint Mary's at home.

                        February 10, 2014: #12 Gonzaga 70, Saint Mary's 60

After a poor 1st half, Gonzaga dominated the 2nd half to improve their record to 22-1.

Sophomore C Doug Montgomery led the way for the Bulldogs with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. Montgomery shot 7-15 from the floor in 31 minutes of playing time.

Sophomore SF Sammy Sola finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds while having a 50% Field Goal Percentage and 3 Point Percentage. He also shot 5-6 from the charity stripe.

Junior PF Vernon Lopez scored in double figures for the first time in a couple games. Lopez finished with 12 points on 4-8 shooting from the floor and a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. He also grabbed 4 rebounds in his 28 minutes of playing time.

Saint Mary's once again got a solid performance from star Junior C Demond Randle. Randle finished with 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks. He shot 4-8 from the floor and made 8 of 13 free throw attempts in just 23 minutes of playing time.

The only other Saint Mary's player to score in double digits was Junior SG Harrison Sessoms. Sessoms scored 10 points on 3-7 shooting from the floor, 2-5 from 3 point range, and 2-4 from the free throw line. He also dished out 5 assists during his 22 minutes of playing time.

                        February 15, 2014: #12 Gonzaga 83, San Francisco 59

After a shaky win against Saint Mary's, Gonzaga came out and dominated San Francisco on the road as they win by 24 points.

Gonzaga was led by Sophomore SG Keithan Krager who finished with 15 points on an extremely efficient 5-7 shooting. He shot 4-5 from 3 point range and made 1 of 2 free throws. Krager also stuffed the stat sheet as he grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, and came up with 2 steals.

Sophomore C Doug Montgomery finished with 15 points and 5 rebounds just like Krager. However, Montgomery missed a whopping 15 shots in 30 minutes of playing time. Even though his shooting was off tonight, Montgomery blocked 4 shots and only had 1 personal foul in 30 minutes of playing time.

Junior PF Vernon Lopez scored 12 points on 3-9 shooting from the floor and 6-8 from the free throw line. He also came down with 5 boards. And Freshman SF Ashton Reece came off the bench and scored 10 points in 17 minutes of playing time. Reece shot 3-5 from the floor, 2-3 from 3 point range, and 2-2 from the free throw line. Just like the 3 players mentioned before, Reece also finished with 5 rebounds.

San Francisco was undoubtedly led by Senior C Petroslav Minor. Minor was the only player on the Dons' roster with over 8 points. Minor finished with a game high 20 points on 8-17 shooting, 2-3 from 3 point range, but he only made 2 of 9 free throw attempts. Minor also brought down 8 rebounds and blocked 2 shots in just 23 minutes of playing time.

                          February 17, 2014: #12 Gonzaga 72, Santa Clara 55

Gonzaga got a couple surprise standout performances in route to their 17 point win over Santa Clara.

The Bulldogs were led by Sophomore SF Sammy Sola who was 1 rebound short of a double double. Sola finished with 12 points (4-7 shooting from the floor and 4-5 from the free throw line), 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. It was a great all around effort by Sola.

Sophomore C Doug Montgomery finished with 13 points on 4-11 shooting from the floor and 4-7 from the charity stripe in just 19 minutes of playing time due to foul trouble.

Gonzaga got huge lifts off their bench by two unlikely players. Freshman SG Timothy Bernard scored 12 points on 4-8 shooting from the floor, 3-4 from 3 point range, and 1-2 from the free throw line in just 16 minutes of playing time. Then, Sophomore Walk-On PF Gabriel Temple finished with 12 points in just 9 minutes of playing time. Temple was a perfect 5-5 shooting from the floor and a perfect 2-2 from 3 point range.

Santa Clara was led by All-WCC Player of the Year nominee, Senior PF Vern Maye. Maye finished with a game high 20 points on 5-13 shooting from the floor and finished 9-11 from the free throw line. Maye scored those 20 points in just 24 minutes of playing time.

Sophomore C E.J. Kapono was the only other Bronco to score in double figures. Kapono finished with 10 points on 2-5 shooting from the floor and 6-8 from the free throw line in just 15 minutes of playing time.

                          February 22, 2014: #12 Gonzaga 98, Loyola Marymount 73

After only leading by two points at halftime, the Bulldogs poured it on in the 2nd half as they outscored the Lions 57-34.

Sophomore SG Keithan Krager led the way for Gonzaga with a team high 19 points. Krager was extremely efficient scoring the ball tonight. He shot 6-9 from the floor, 1-2 from 3 point range, and 6-7 from the charity stripe.

Sophomore C Doug Montgomery was also extremely efficient on the offensive end tonight. Montgomery finished with 18 points on 6-7 shooting from the floor. He was a perfect 4-4 from 3 point range and 2-2 from the free throw line.

Once again, Timothy Bernard and Gabriel Temple came up big off the bench. Bernard scored 14 points on 3-6 shooting, 2-4 shooting from 3 point range, and 6-6 from the free throw line. Gabriel Temple also scored 14 points on 5-6 shooting from the floor, 1-1 from 3 point range, and 3-4 from the charity stripe in just 10 minutes of playing time.

Loyola Marymount was led by their 7'3", 306 lbs. Junior C, Vincent Snipes. Snipes finished with a game high 22 points on 9-18 shooting from the floor while also grabbing 7 boards. A big improvement in those categories from our last matchup. However, he only went 3-13 from the free throw line.

Junior PF Willie Medina finished with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals in 30 minutes of playing time. Medina shot 6-13 from the floor and was a near perfect 7-8 from the free throw line.

One major positive that I'd like to point out real fast is our fantastic free throw shooting tonight. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come because I don't think we'll be able to make a serious run in the NCAA Tournament if we continue to shoot 64% from the free throw line.

                            February 24, 2014: #9 Gonzaga 84, San Diego 75

Thanks to yet another strong 2nd half, Gonzaga managed to pull away and win by 9 on Senior Night.

Gonzaga was led by Sammy Sola who had a fantastic all around game. Sola finished with a double double as he scored 18 points and grabbed 10 boards. Sola shot 5-11 from the floor, 1-3 from 3 point range, and 7-9 from the free throw line.

Sophomore SG Keithan Krager was just one assist shy of a double double himself. Krager finished with 14 points and 9 assists. He shot 6-10 from the floor and 2-4 from 3 point range in 31 minutes of playing time.

Freshman SF Ashton Reece came off the bench and was nearly perfect shooting the ball as he put up 15 points in 18 minutes of playing time. Reece shot a perfect 5-5 from the floor and 1-1 from 3 point range. But, he shot 4-5 from the free throw line as he just barely missed out on not missing a single shot all night.

Sophomore C Doug Montgomery scored 13 points despite missing 9 shots. Montgomery also blocked 3 shots during his 24 minutes of playing time.

We were once again dominated by San Diego SG Drew Willis. Willis put up 26 points on an incredible offensive performance. He shot 9-12 from the floor, 2-4 from 3 point range, and 6-8 from the charity stripe. Willis also finished with 6 rebounds, a pair of assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Junior PF Kurt Horton and Freshman PG Gregg Valdez both scored 10 points for the Toreros. Horton in particular had a rough night as he made just 2 of 14 shot attempts.

                            March 1, 2014: Portland 69, #9 Gonzaga 62

                            They got us again.

To say we struggled on offense would be an understatement. We couldn't shoot the ball tonight and turned the ball over way too much.

The only two players that scored in double figures for us were Vernon Lopez (12 points) and Doug Montgomery (12 points). The two of them combined to make 7 out of 23 shots.

Portland Senior PG Clark Leslie completely dominated this game. Leslie finished with 22 points on 6-12 shooting from the floor, 2-3 shooting from 3 point range, and 8-10 shooting from the free throw line... Including some key late free throws to ice the game. Leslie also finished with 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Senior C Anis Forth was the only other player on the Pilots' roster with 10+ points. Forth scored 16 points on 5-9 shooting from the floor and 6-8 shooting from the free throw line.

This was an extremely disappointing loss for us as Portland once again had our number. I promise you one thing though... If/when we play them in the WCC Tournament next week, we will win that game.

                              March 3, 2014: #13 Gonzaga 99, Pepperdine 86

Gonzaga ended the season on a high note as they almost hang 100 points on Pepperdine in the season finale.

Gonzaga was led by Sophomore SG Keithan Krager who scored a team high 20 points. Krager shot 6-12 from the floor, 5-7 from 3 point range, and 3-6 from the charity stripe. He also finished with 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. It was a great all around performance for Krager.

Freshman PG Anil Howard put up 17 points on an incredibly efficient shooting night. Howard shot 6-7 from the floor, 1-2 from 3 point range, and 4-4 from the free throw line. Howard also came up with 3 steals on the night.

Freshman SF Ashton Reece scored 14 points in 21 minutes off the bench. He shot 2-2 from 3 point range and made 8 of 10 free throw attempts while also grabbing 6 rebounds.

Senior SG Elton Briggs finished his final regular season game in a big way as he scored 12 points in 13 minutes of playing time off the bench. Briggs was a perfect 4-4 shooting from the floor and 2-2 from 3 point range.

Pepperdine was led by C Bryan Devonish who scored a game high 25 points in 26 minutes of playing time. Devonish finished 7-14 from the floor and 11-17 from the free throw line. He also blocked 2 shots and came up with 2 steals.

Junior SG Jamie Shields finished with 15 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds, while Sophomore PF Alvaidas Bell chipped in 10 points on 3-5 shooting.

Gonzaga ends the season with a phenomenal 27-2 record and with their win today they have claimed the #1 seed in the WCC Tournament. Gonzaga will take on the #8 seeded San Diego Toreros in the first round.
