Brown's shooting (he did shoot 60% (20-30) from the floor vs Lehigh) has been a driving force as to why we've done as well as we have. He has certainly got to be being looked at as a possible PL (Patriot League) player of the year candidate. I took a look at his focus and confidence chart and they are both sky high. In the flex offense, he's mostly stationed down near the key but he has great off ball AI and gets out to the perimeter a lot, as you can see by the number of 3s that he takes. He's been tough all season long for the defense to contain and cover.

Another reason may be the surging of Jimmy Sewell's play defensively. His shot blocking combined with his and Corban Bates' rebounding.

Thanks for the feedback. It's greatly appreciated.

I'm definitely following along. I may not post often in the thread but I keep tabs on all of my coach mode brethren's legacies.

          2/14/07 -- Army (12-11, 6-4) @ American (14-11, 6-5)

Army Upsets American, 78-75, Takes Conference Lead

          Bender Arena
          Washington, D.C.

          First Half
Ingram puts in a layup and Lewis hits a 3-pointer before Army goes on a 7-0 run. After Ingram sinks a 3-pointer and Joneliunas puts in a layup, American has the lead by 3, 10-7, with 15:00 remaining. The teams trade a couple of baskets as both teams struggle for points. A put back after an offensive rebound by Sewell pulls the Black Knights to within one, 14-13, halfway through the first half. Ingram sinks a jumper and Nichols puts in a layup then Brown leads Army on a 9-3 run to give them the lead. After Carr and Thompson trade 3-pointers, the Black Knights lead by one, 25-24, with just under 5:00 left. The lead changes hands as Nichols puts in a layup and Carr tips in a rebound. The teams trade baskets then Koszuta sinks a runner before Ingram and Brown trade 3-pointers as the Eagles go into halftime with a one point lead. Brown and Ingram lead Army and American, respectively, with 12 points each.
          American 33, Army 32

          Second Half

Army comes out of the half and Brown leads them on a 10-0 run. After a runner by Sewell, the Black Knights' lead is 9 points, 42-33, with just under 15:00 remaining. The teams trade two points as Lekavicius puts in a layup and Bates sinks two free throws. After Ingram and Lekavicius put in layups to cut the Army lead to five, Bates hits a jumper to put the Black Knights back up by 7, 46-39, midway through the second half. Brown slams in a tomahawk dunk then Nichols puts in a pair of layups to lead American on a 9-2 run. Thompson hits a 3-pointer to stop the run and give Army a 5 point lead, 53-48, with just under 5:00 left. Ingram hits a 3-pointer to start the Eagles on a 7-0 run to take the lead. Brown ties the game with a layup with less than a minute to go then Bates puts the Black Knights in front by putting in a layup with 39 seconds to play. American starts fouling and Sinning, the best free throw shooter on Army, only sinks the front end of a one-and-one. Ingram shoots from three point range at the buzzer but it bounces off the rim into the waiting hands of Sewell as Army, without starting SG Matt Bell, holds on and upsets the Eagles.

This win, coupled with losses by both Holy Cross and Bucknell, gives the Black Knights a 1/2 game lead in the Patriot League.

                          2/24/07 -- Bucknell (12-13, 7-6) @ Army (14-12, 8-5)

                          Bison Bites Black Knights, 80-64

                          Christl Arena
                          West Point, NY

It's Senior Day at West Point as the Army salutes the seniors on the basketball team: Matt Bell, Marshall Jackson, Jimmy Sewell and Cory Sinning. Marshall Jackson was told by Coach Bob Knight in the locker room before the game that he will try to give him some time on the floor, as normal, but also said that he wasn't going to get a courtisy start on Senior Day. Coach Knight told him that the team is in the hunt for home court advantage throughout the postseason Patriot League tournament and that meant more to the team than him starting.

                          First Half
Badmus opens the game with two layups then Jarell Brown hits a runner and Sewell sinks a hook shot to tie the game. Griffin leads Bucknell on a 7-0 run with a short jumper and a 3-point play as the Bison lead by 7, 11-4, with just under 15:00 remaining. The teams trade a couple of baskets then Zastoupil sinks two free throws. Donald Brown tips in a rebound for Bucknell and after a runner by Bell, the Bison lead by 5, 17-12, halfway through the first half. Behan tips in a rebound then Bell hits two 3-pointers to lead Army on a 12-4 run to take the lead. After a layup by Evans, Bucknell retakes the lead by one, 25-24, with just under 5:00 left. The teams trade jumpers then Evans sinks a 3-pointer. After Jarell Brown hits a jumper, McNaughton puts in a put back layup with five seconds to go to give the Bison a four point lead at the half. Army's Matt Bell leads all scorers with 10 points and Griffin leads Bucknell with 9.

                          Second Half

McNaughton sinks two short turnaround jumpers to lead Bucknell on a 9-2 run to start the second half. After Sinning puts in two free throws, the teams trade baskets and the Bison lead is now nine, 43-34, with 15:00 remaining. Behan and McNaughton lead Bucknell on a 17-5 run. After Jarell Brown hits a jumper, Behan sinks a 3-pointer as the Bison open up the lead to 22, 63-41, midway through the second half. A layup by Sinning starts Army on a 9-3 run as they try to battle back. Castleberry stops the run with a 3-pointer then Sinning hits a jumper from the foul line to cut the Bison's lead to 17, 69-52, with 5:00 left. The Black Knights and the Bucknell reserves go basket for basket as the Bison hold on to win.
