Hey SJ, did you complain to Microsoft about getting your 360 and it not working? I bet if you did then you might get something for free. Tell them that you are going to be selling it when you get it back and see if they offer you anything.

Re: "Mountaineers Are Always Free"
BTW, I may be restarting this dynasty with NCAA 2004. I am going to try that game out tonight to see how it fares compared to 2006 and see which one I will pick for my long-term dynasty. I know it'll probably make some people mad to see me starting over again, but I really do think I can keep this going.Last edited by superjames1992; 02-18-2008, 05:45 PM.Comment

Re: "Mountaineers Are Always Free"
Okay, here is what I have decided on:
You will see a Marshall dynasty firing up later today most likely for NCAA 2004. (I'm a sucker for old games, not to mention my 360 just died again. It broke and once I got it back from repair it wouldn't even turn on, that's a sign of a great repair job isn't it.) I will do the Marshall dynasty more as a coaching career with weaker teams, but I will continue this as well. I have no life, so fitting in both games will not be a problem.
Thus, this will be continued, but I will also run a Marshall one in the same format and such as this one.Comment

Re: "Mountaineers Are Always Free"
Alright, I am pleased to announce that this should be resuming in the next couple of days! However, I am going to change my coach's name to James Frizzell. I don't get that vibe from Superjames, you know?
Okay, well I may have the Uconn game up tomorrow possibly. I played a few games over the last few days and I had a lot of fun. I probably won't be getting NCAA 09 this year as I hated 08, but we'll see about that when the demo comes out for it. For now we shall play this.Comment

Re: "Mountaineers Are Always Free"
Payback at the "Rent"!!!
UConn dominates WVU 66-24
N/R24 -- (5-4)
#2366 -- (7-0)
East Hartford, CT - Connecticut came into the game boasting a perfect 6-0 record thus far. However, the Huskies would face their toughest opponent yet in the might Mountaineers of West Virginia. West Virginia annihilated the Huskies last year in Morgantown by a tune of 73-24. However, this year it seemed as if Connecticut was looking for some payback today as they came out early with a chip on their shoulders.
Connecticut struck early as Mountaineers quarterback Adam Bednarik threw an interception on the very first drive of the game as one of the Huskies' linebackers leaped in front of Rashawn Bolden to pick off the pass. Connecticut would convert the turnover to a field goal to make the score 3-0 early. West Virginia would march down the field on the next drive and Colby Jones would convert a tough 54 yard field goal attempt with a few yards to spare the tie the game up at 3. After a Connecticut three-and-out, the Mountaineers got the ball back. A Scott Kozlowski punt was muffed by the Huskies resulting in a touchdown for the Mountaineers to give the Mountaineers a 10-3 lead as the first quarter ended.
Unfortunately, that would be the last lead the Mountaineers held as Connecticut took control in the final three quarters off of huge passing plays. The Huskies scored off of passes of 43, 72, 6, and 38 yards in the second quarter as they seized a commanding 31-17 lead at halftime.
It looked as if the Mountaineers may get back in the game early in the second quarter, but a quick turnover followed by two quick scores by the Huskies effectively put the game away as the Huskies grabbed a 45-14 lead midway through the third quarter and sailed to a dominating 66-24 win to stay atop the Big East standings.
Defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel took a lot of heat after the game for his team's defensive effort. However, head coach James Frizzell stick up for him saying, "It wasn't so much poor play calling as it was great plays by the Huskies and poor efforts by us. They played their hearts out today as they have been doing all season. They were just a step faster than us and that ultimately cost us this ballgame."
The Mountaineers now fall to a disappointing 5-4 overall and 3-2 in Big East play with three games remaining, two of which are against Big East opponents.

Re: "Mountaineers Are Always Free"
Yeah, it's starting to get to me. I am very excited about the upcoming football season. I just don't think I will be getting NCAA 09, but who knows...I will play the demo and then decide. I really hope they improve on the game, but it looks for the most part the same to me and I don't care about online dynasties and stuff since I never go online anyways for the most part. The computer gives me enough fun.Comment

Re: "Mountaineers Are Always Free"
So I just got caught up.
First let me say I agree with you 2006 was the better game, however I had to buy 2008 just for the fact that they had my boy Z on the cover. Normally I trade in my old versions and buy the new years version of Football,Hoops and MLB but this is the 1st time I kept it. The box went up in my office dedicated to the Broncos.
Only thing I don't like about 2006 is that Boise State is not that good on the game. At least in 2008 coming off our Fiesta Bowl win, they actually made us decent. So as much as I like following your dynasty I am sad to not be able to see my Broncos in the Top 25...
I can't wait until 2009 comes out I really do hope they bring back some of the gameplay from 2006. I however am looking forward to the online dynasty because I got a couple friends back in Boise and one in Portland that we plan on setting one up with.
Tough loss against Michigan.Comment

Re: "Mountaineers Are Always Free"
Mountaineers Top Cincinnati in Morgantown
Mountaineer Defense Only Allows 7 Points in Victory
07 -- (5-3)
31 -- (6-4)
Morgantown, WV - Cincinnati came in boasting one of the worst defenses in the nation as did West Virginia. It did not look like that today, though, as West Virginia's defense was superb and Cincinnati's was not too bad either.
The Mountaineer defense was dominant as they held Cincinnati scoreless for the first 3 quarters before allowing a broken coverage which resulted in a 40 yard touchdown pass to get the Bearcats on the board early in the fourth quarter. Cincinnati was held to a mere 196 yards of total offense in the game and had negative rushing yardage. However, that was mostly due to the 7 sacks from the resentless pass rush from the Mountaineers.
Jason Gwanltney was held to only 9 carries for 34 yards in the game, but suffered a bruised sternum early in the third quarter which sidelined him for the game. He should see action in the "Backyard Brawl" in 2 weeks as the Mountaineers are off next week which should help rehabilitate the injury. "He'll be fine," commented head coach James Frizzell. "He probably could have played some more late in the Cincinnati game, but I did not want to risk an injury with us in the lead."
Fullback Owen Schmitt stepped up in Gwanltney's absence as he carried the ball 6 times for 68 yards, including a 29 yard dagger with the Mountaineers backup up at their own 3 yard line with a tough third down and 5. "He bailed us out there big," commented Coach Frizzell. "That allowed us to drive down the field and get another touchdown to go back up by 21 with just a few minutes remaining."
