Tough loss to open up SJ. It's LSU though, so maybe there is still an outside shot at a title.

Yes, it was tough. I actually just made a slider switch to Heisman which allows a more defensive game. All of my games were becoming mindless shootouts like the LSU game. I was able to run the ball, pass the ball, and move the ball at will against the defense. Now with the new sliders, we hopefully won't see many 59-38 games. I like some defense, ya know?

I suppose we have an outside shot at a title, but I don't think we have the team to get us there. We could easily lose the Michigan and Virginia Tech games and go to 1-3 before conference play begins, but if we win those, we have a chance. I made the schedule too hard. No LSU next year! Michigan and Virginia Tech is enough!

        Thanks for following again Highheat.

By the way, I think I may change Bill Stewart to Coach Superjames. I would like the freedom to act like an idiot, threaten to leave, ect.

            Important Editor's Notice

I am going to chance WVU's head coach from Bill Stewart to Coach Superjames. This will give me a bit more freedom to either mess around, threaten to leave WVU, leave WVU if I grow tired down the road, and if this dynasty lasts for 20 or so years like I hope it will (I do not plan on getting NCAA 09), then Coach Superjames will not be old (Stewart would be in his upeer 80s by then).

I would edit all the previous posts, but OS does not allow you to edit posts more than a few days old for some reason.

            Thanks for your readership!

              Mountaineers Win Black Diamond Trophy

              NR 38 -- (2-1)
              #7 35 -- (1-1)

              Blacksburg, VA -
After a disappointing game in Morgantown against the Virginia Tech Hokies last year, the Mountaineers managed to rally and defeat the Hokies 38-35 in a hotly contested affair. Colby Jones would hit a 25 yard field goal with 10 seconds left that put WVU up 38-35 for good. Of course, Virginia Tech missed starting quarterback Marcus Vick, as he was out with and injury for two weeks. Sean Glennon filled in for Vick, but had a rather lackluster day, only completing 10 of 23 passes for 2 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

The Hokies went up 7-0 early, but a Glennon interception was taken to the house by senior Mountaineer linebacker Jay Henry. West Virginia took a 14-10 halftime lead. West Virginia had a meltdown in the 3rd quarter, as they were outscored by the Hokies 18-7, but recovered in the 4th, as Colby Jones would knock in the winning field goal to seal the game up.

"It feels nice to finally beat Virginia Tech," commented Coach Superjames. "I really did not want to face Michigan with a 1-2 record already. We need a strong start and I think we are delivering quite a punch with a victory over a top 10 team in the Virginia Tech Hokies."

Adam Bednarik was tossed towards the end of the 2nd quarter, after throwing his third interception of the game. Pat White played most of the rest of the game, completing 11 of 21 passes for 171 yards, a touchdown, and an interception, the first of his career. White also rushed for 110 yards on 13 carries and scored a rushing touchdown. Coach Superjames declined to comment on whether Pat White would start against Michigan next week, citing, "You will see next week. Be patient."

Jason Gwanltney was slowed quite considerably in the game as he only got 59 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Fullback Owen Schmitt had a couple huge runs in the game. He ended the day with 62 yards rusjing on just 3 carries. "We need to get him the ball more," commented Coach Superjames. "He is really good, maybe the best fullback in the entire nation, so we need to utilize his abilities. We love his speed."

With the win, the Mountaineers improve to 2-1 (0-0) on the young season. Coach Superjames picks up his first win against rival Virginia Tech. He now has a record of 1-1 against the Hokies. Overall, Superjames improves to 5-1 in rivalry games.

If it wasn't for Marcus Vick being injured, we probably would have lost by 10+ points. But when Sean Glennon goes out there and throws 4 interceptions, that's a good way to lose the game.

Haha, yeah. He seems to take a lot of heat. It seems he was not as good as was expected of him. He is an average quarterback, but some people expected him to be a Heisman candidate, ect. Now you guys got Tyrod Talyor, so you all are set for a few years with a good scrambling quarterback.

Too bad Tyrod won't get the reins of the offense to himself.

Yeah, you all were running a two-quarterback system with Tyrod and Sean. WVU did that back in 2005, but it disrupts the flow of the offense too much IMO. It's okay to bring in a guy every now and then to run or something, but playing musical quarterbacks usually doesn't bode well for a team. Hopefully, Beamer will let Talyor play most of the time, because Glennon has really never impressed me...

                              Michigan Tops WVU 45-18

Morgantown, WV - Rich Rodriguez was successful in his first visit to Morgantown since he was hired by the Michigan Wolverines. The Wolverines topped the Mountaineers in Morgantown by a tune of 45-18 in a blowout. Going in, it looked like Michigan would have the advantage, and they certainly did, as they simply had more talent the the Mountaineers. The young Mountaineers offensive line, which has 3 true freshmen starters, continued to struggle in protecting Adam Bednarik. The Mountaineers were down 35-0 before they even got on the board with a 4 yard touchdown run by Adam Bednarik.

Rich Rodriguez was booed and jeered at by many fans in Morgantown prior to the game. As he was arriving in Morgantown the day prior, fans were throwing stuff at the bus he and his team arrived in. He had the last laugh, however, as Michigan demolished the Mountaineers.

The Mountaineer defense allowed Mike Hart to rush for 100 yards on 17 carries, but more importantly, let Chad Henne crush the weak Mountaineer secondary. Henne completed 20 of his 25 pass attempts for 357 yards and 6 touchdowns. Overall, the Wolverines outgained the Mountaineers 509-325 in the game as the Mountaineer defense continues to show how terrible they truly are. "59 points to LSU, 28 to Maryland, 35 to Virginia Tech, and now 45 to Michigan! When will it stop!" exclaimed a hot and fuming Superjames. "I cannot believe how inept our defense is, especially after last year's amazing defensive effort. I suppose it has something to do with our weakness at the cornerback position, as Michigan's wide receivers ran a lot of streak routes and simply outran our secondary. I can deal with Mike Hart gaining 100 yards, because he is something special, but I cannot deal with 6 Chad Henne touchdown passes. That is something to be very ashamed of."

The Mountaineers turned the ball over 3 times, but the Wolverines committed no turnovers in the game. All 3 turnovers were off of Adam Bednarik interceptions, as he only completed 12 of 20 passes for 160 yards, a touchdown, and 3 crucial interceptions, his second straight game with 3 interceptions. "He did so well at protecting the football last year," commented Superjames. "I think it has a lot to do with the fact that he is getting little or no time to throw the football since our line sucks so badly at protecting the quarterback. He literally drops back and is hit within 2 seconds every time. He either has a choice to get sacked or throw some wild pass up in the air, which often ends in an interception. It's hard to be a good quarterback when you have no pass protection."

On defense for the Mountaineers, Jay Henry had another monster game. After picking off 2 passes last week and returning 1 for a touchdown, earning him Big East Defensive Player of the Week honors, Henry got 8 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks on Chad Henne. Fellow linebacker Bobby Hathaway also got 8 tackles in the game.

The Mountaineers were without senior wide receiver Rayshawn Bolden for the game, who prior to the game, was suspended for 2 games for an undisclosed reason. Superjames commented, "It's none of the media's business. I like to keep these things private because there is no point in damaging a kid's reputation. He's getting his proper punishment as he will not play this week nor next week."

With the loss, the Mountaineers fall to a disappointing, though not totally unexpected 2-2 (0-0). Conference play starts next week, so the Mountaineers better get in shape before the real season begins.
