Holy Cow!!!
Mountaineers Wow Uconn with 73 Points!!!

Morgantown, WV - 49 points. That's how many points West Virginia scored in the 1st half alone. West Virginia tacked on 24 more points in the 2nd half to win the game 73-24. "Wow," was all Connecticut Coach Randy Edsall had to say following the game.
West Virginia was led, as usual, by Jason Colson's legs, as he single handedly scored more points than the entire Connecticut offense did. Colson rushed for a career-high 260 yards in the game and 5 touchdowns. He had over 200 at halftime before the starters were pulled in the 2nd half.
Vaughn Rivers was spectacular returning punts today for the Mountaineers. Rivers returned 4 punts for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns, adding up to a 40.5 yard average per punt return.
West Virginia's Bill Stewart was more than pleased with the performance by his Mountaineers. "I am simply amazed," he said. "73 points is a very nice score total and that is pretty amazing to do, especially against a Connecticut team that was 5-2 and coached by a very good coach in Randy Edsall."
With the 49 point, or 7 touchdown, win, the Mountaineers improve to 8-1 (5-0) and will be looking to possibly move into the top 10 when the polls come out tomorrow. Next, the Mountaineers will take on lowly Cincinnati, who coming into today, was 2-6 (1-3), so, barring any unforeseen upsets, the Mountaineers should roll into their final game against Pittsburgh with a 9-1 (6-0) record and the Big East Title on the line.
