Oakland - 6 Final (12)
Texas - 4
WP - Rincon (1-0)
LP - Yan (0-1)
S - Fickas (1)
HR - Jay Bell (1), Greene (1), Sierra (1)
This game was a see saw battle as Texas was out for revenge after being blown out of the yard. The Rangers took the lead with Everett's 3 run shot in the 4th of Lilly who again had a shaky outing, lasting only 5 innings and giving up 3 runs. Oakland fought back thanks to some timely base hits and a 2 run shot by Jay Bell to get a 4-3 lead into the 9th inning. Keith Foulke had struck out the first 2 batters when Greene popped a solo shot to send the game into extra innings. In the 12th inning, Terrence Long drove in 2 runs with a double and Fickas came into the game to close it out for the A's to move to 8-1 on the year after a thrilling game.
Game 10: Oakland @ Texas
Oakland - 4
Texas - 11
WP - Benoit (2-0)
LP - Harang (1-1)
HR - Phelps (4), A. Rodriguez (3), Ju. Gonzalez (1)
The A's were hammered from the beginning as Aaron Harang struggled walking the first 2 batters of the game. A Rod made Harang pay by hitting a three run homer and Juan Gonzalez followed with a solo shot and Harang was knocked out without getting a single batter out. The blow-out first inning really knocked the A's out as they lose 11-4 to the Rangers to drop them to 8-2 on the year. A Rod was the player of the game with a homer and 4 RBIs and went 3-5 at the plate on a whole. The A's travel to Anaheim to take on the Angels in a 3 game weekend series next
