I've done about 5-7 Michigan dynasty's and year 1 isn't fun at all. From what I've seen, it only works if you get that QB in year two. If not, year two can be just a little better.

Re: Return to Glory - A Michigan Dynasty
Tough Loss in the Horshoe
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- In order to beat the Ohio State Buckeyes yesterday, the Michigan Wolverines had to do three things. They had to limit turnovers, to sustain long drives and score touchdowns, and they had to stop All-American running back Chris "Beanie" Wells.
The Wolverines did none of those things, and they got chased out of Ohio Stadium by the Buckeyes, losing their 2008 season finale 34-16 to their most hated rivals.
Michigan turned the ball over four times yesterday, as they fumbled the ball twice and struggling quarterback Nick Sheridan threw two interceptions. The Wolverines did sustain long drives and did have the ball for five more minutes than the Buckeyes, but they scored just one touchdown and had to settle for a field goal three times.
In what may be his last game against the University of Michigan, Ohio State running back Chris Wells manhandled the Wolverines defense. He carried the ball twenty times and racked up a season-high 201 yards on the ground and scored three rushing touchdowns. Without Wells, the Buckeyes would have lost 16-10 and would have managed just 198 yards of offense.
There was some silver lining for the Wolverines in this game, despite the crushing loss. The two-headed monster of Brandon Minor and Carlos Brown in the backfield for the Wolverines finally showed what it could do after a mediocre first eleven games. Minor rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries, while the speedy Brown carried the ball 14 times for 76 yards.
Senior kicker K.C. Lopata has struggled mightily at times this season, but he was perfect yesterday. Lopata earned Player of the Game honors by hitting all three field goals he attempted last night, including one from 41 yards out.
So the Wolverines wrap up the 2008 season with a 9-3 record, a pretty good start for new head coach Rich Rodriguez. The Wolverines figure to be one of the three Big Ten teams to play in a January 1st bowl game. The Buckeyes basically sealed their ticket to the National Championship Game, while the Wisconsin Badgers have already sealed the Big Ten Championship and a trip to the Rose Bowl. The Wolverines are currently expected to play in the Capital One Bowl against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Re: Return to Glory - A Michigan Dynasty
Going out with a Bang
ORLANDO, Florida -- For the second straight season, the Michigan Wolverines ended their season with a big victory over a team from the SEC in the Capital One Bowl. The Wolverines capped off a 10-3 season with a 24-13 victory over the Auburn Tigers.
Michigan Quarterback Steven Threet returned to the playing field for the first time this season since he broke three ribs against Penn State eight weeks ago. Threet showed off against the Tigers yesterday, as he threw for 201 yards and a touchdown, winning the Player of the Game Award for the Wolverines.
Threet got the Wolverines on the board late in the first quarter with a one-yard run that gave Michigan a 7-0 lead after one quarter of defensive football. Threet would throw a touchdown pass to Darryl Stonum in the second quarter, and Michigan headed into the locker rooms at halftime up 14-0.
The Tigers offense finally woke up and realized they were playing football in the third quarter, as they scored ten unanswered points in the third to make it a 14-10 game going into the final quarter. Auburn quarterback Kodi Burns hit Ben Tate from 21 yards out to get them on the board, and kicker Wes Byrum added a field goal late in the quarter.
The Wolverines put together their best drive of the game to kick off the fourth quarter, and it was capped off by a one-yard run by Brandon Minor to increase their lead to eleven. That would be the last touchdown of the day for either team, as the only scoring for the rest of the afternoon were field goals by Byrum and Michigan kicker K.C. Lopata.
