SEATTLE TWO-PRONGED ATTACK LEADS TO VICTORY OVER BENGALS

Seattle got going early and often in this road matchup. Seattle scores two rushing touchdowns i the first quarter after long drives. Morris got a 1 yard plunge towards the beginning of the game. Gronkowski added his own 1 yard plunge about halfway through. The first quarter ended with Seattle up 14-0.

The second quarter the Bengals buckled down on defense, only giving up a lone Nichols field goal, but they still were comatose on offense. Seattle took a commanding lead into halftime as they shut out Cincinnati 17-0.

Seattle opened the third quarter with a touchdown run by Gronkowski after a 3 minute drive. After Cincinnati punted, Nichols kicked a field goal. The Hawks defense remained vigilant and gave the offense another opportunity to score. Smith caught a touchdown pass in traffic for a 30 yard score. The Seahawks lead was insurmountable at this point as they led 34-0.

The Cincinnati offense finally did something as Sproles was not picked up coming out of the backfield and ran up the seam, away from all the Seahawk defenders for a catch and run score from 80 yards out. Claybrook returned the favor by connecting with rookie George for a 52 yard score as he got a step on his defender.

Cincinnati opened up the fourth quarter with a long touchdown of 60 yards to Caldwell. Seattle responded in kind, as Lynch ran out of the backfield, caught a pass, breaking multiple tackles and tumbling in for a 40 yard score.

The final score of the game as Lynch fumbled in his own endzone after the Hawks were pinned on the 1 yard line by a punt. Kirby was right there to fall on top of it.

Seattle won by a final score of 48-21.

NEW YORK HEADLINE READS: SCOBEE SUCKS

Seattle didn’t need Josh Scobee we to help them dismantle the Net York Giants, but they weren’t going to deny it either. The poor Giants’ kicker missed all 3 XP attempts afforded him as well as his only field goal attempt afforded him as well. These missed points didn’t cost them the game, but it’s still not good either.

Bradshaw got the Giants on the board first by taking a pitch left and running up the sideline for an 81 yard score. Seattle quickly answered though as Claybrooks found Smith on a seam route, jumping him in the end zone and coming down with the ball. Seattle scores again before the end of the first as McDonald caught a crossing route pass and juked into the endzone. Seattle led 14-6 after the first.

Lunch caught a pass in the flat, and ran it in for the touchdown after the defense forced a punt in the beginning of the quarter. New York responded with a 5 yard pass to Moore to close the gap. Too bad Seattle was too efficient and scored before the half on a Morris 1 yard run. Seattle led 28-12.

New York got the ball after the break, and got a touchdown as Manning passed to Davis to make it a 28-18 hole. Seattle managed to get a field goal with a few minutes left in the quarter to go up 31-18.

The fourth was all Seattle and a Claybrooks/Moore clinic. Claybrooks found his speedy rookie twice. One for 13 yard on a hitch route, the second as he blew past his defenders for a 71 yard bomb. The final score was 45-18, as Claybrooks was making his case for Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

“Would I like to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award; of course. But I’d rather the TEAM win and play well. My ultimate goal of Super Bowl, and my focus is on that, not my own accomplishments.”, he told reporters after the game.

SEAHAWKS DROP 55 VERSUS RAMS, CLAYBROOKS THROWS 6 TOUCHDOWNS

Seattle started off strong as Claybrooks completed a 1 yard pass to Gronkowski. Nichols added a field goal about half way through to go up 10-0. St. Louis got on the board as backup running back Ogbonnaya ran up the gut, breaking tackles on his way to a 78 yard score. Seattle’s defense would have to play better and not surrender big plays. The first quarter ended with Seattle ahead 10-7.

Quarter number two was all Seattle. Lynch caught a little 2 yard flat route for a touchdown in the early minutes. The Rams advanced the ball better then previous drives and got a field goal. The Hawks were ahead 17-10. Seattle put points up twice before the half. Backup left tackle and third string tight end Tupou caught a little 3 yard pass to push the Hawks lead to 24-10. Nichols added a field goal before the whistle blew to take a 27-10 halftime lead.

After the break in the action, Morris kept up the offensive pressure as he took a sweep pass right, and went in untouched as the Rams committed to stopping the pass. Running back Logan for the Rams got a short little touchdown run to counter Seattle’s last score. Too bad Claybrooks had taken notice of the cornerbacks lacking burst of speed. He adjusted Moore’s route and found him up the sideline for a 53 yard score. Before the quarter ended Claybrooks found Smith for a 34 yard touchdown catch down the right seam.

Seattle’s lead was to a insane 48-17. The fourth quarter saw St. a Louis score twice on deep balls. One to Bess for 80 yards, as he blew past Trufant and went in untouched. The second to Gibson for 49 yards as Weddle took a bad angle and let him in the end zone. Seattle’s Smith was found again for a 20 yard score with seconds to go in the game.

The final score was Seattle 55, Rams 30

SEATTLE CLINCHES NFC WEST DIVISION TITLE WITH VICTORY OVER TB 12

Tom Brady in another uniform not named New England is a sight to behold. He had been a fixture behind center for the team for over a decade. Regardless of how one feels about him, love him or hate him, his name is and was synonymous with New England.

Seattle got on the board first as they drove down the field, eating up over 5 minutes of clock and scoring on a Smith 5 yard catch. The Seattle defense made Washington punt, but it was a perfect corner coffin punt. Two play later, Claybrooks was sacked in the end zone for a safety.

Despite giving up a safety, the defense forced another punt. Seattle drove down the field and Morris punched it in from the 2 yard line to go up 14-2. Seattle got the ball with about 3 minutes to go. Claybrooks was facing pressure in his face, and threw a bad ball. Brian Orakpo picked him off and ran it back 44 yards for the pick-6. It was Claybrooks’ 4th pick-6 of the season. He’s not known for mistakes, but when he does make one it is usually a big one. Seattle led 14-8.

They used all three time outs with under :90 seconds to go. Claybrooks completed clutch passes to Smith and Gronkowski. Morris caught a ball out of the backfield and was ya led down by his face mask, giving them extra yardage. Gronkowski caught a 2 yard flat route to go up 21-8 at the half.

The third quarter was a defensive spectacle as both defenses shut out the opposing offenses. This set up a drama filled fourth quarter.

The quarter belonged to the Redskins as they scored twice. Brady was classic Brady as he drove down the field and tossed a score to Thomas. Seattle’s lead was cut to 21-15.

Seattle responded by going 77 yards in 10 plays as Morris capped it off with a 13 yard run up the gut of the defense to make it a 28-15 ballgame.

Washington drove and scored with :60 to go in the game as Cooley caught the touchdown pass. The onside kick was recovered by Seattle and they ran out the clock.

With the victory, Seattle clinched a playoff spot, clinched the NFC West division title for the second consecutive year, and Ray Claybrooks Has cemented himself in RotY discussion.

CLAYBROOKS COMPLETES FIRST COMEBACK VICTORY OVER COWBOYS

This game came down to the wire between the two teams. Seattle’s defense forced a punt to open the game. Seattle’s offense then took the field, went the 77 yard to score on a Lynch touchdown run to go up 7-0. Dallas responded in under :30 as Dez Bryant beat Trufant off the line and left him in his dust as Romo found him streaking down the left side for the 82 yard bomb. Seattle is known for giving up big plays and this was no exception to tie the game at 7-7.

The second quarter was all Cowboys, even of the scoreboard didn’t show it. Seattle drove down the field twice, but only managed a pro of field goal by Nichols to go up 13-7. Dallas had a morale victory for sure. Then part way through the quarter Dallas capped off a 65 yard drive as Felix Jones ran it in for a score. The extra point was shanked right as the teams went into halftime tied at 13-13.

Seattle got the ball to start the third, but we’re forced to punt. Dallas punted on their next drive, and Seattle finally got on the board after Claybrooks found Smith in the end zone for the score. Seattle took their 20-13 lead into the fourth quarter.

About 2 minutes into the final quarter, Seattle scored on a Morris run up the middle, as he bounced off a few arm tackles and put Seattle up 27-13. Dallas responded in kind with a quick touchdown pass to Jason Witten as Thurmond took a bad angle and he went in for a 56 yard score, Seattle led 27-20. Dallas picked off Claybrooks as they tightened up their defense, while their offense Kicked a field goal with 6 minutes to go. Dallas forced a punt, and with under 2 minutes got a go ahead touchdown as Jones ran it in.

Claybrooks armed with all three timeouts; orchestrated a comeback. He made key passes to Smith and Lynch. The Dallas defense helped out by yanking Morris down by the face mask, giving them a first and goal for under :60 second in the game. Two plays later Morris ran around the left edge for the score. Dallas was unable to comeback, as Seattle held in for the win.

“It was great, what a rush”, Claybrooks told reporters after the game. “I never gave up, Coach told me to keep my head up after I threw the pick late in the game. I believe in our guys, in what we’ve put together”

SEATTLE DISMANTLES CARDINALS, CARDINALS FANS CHANT FOR SEATTLE

Nobody would confuse the Arizona Cardinals for a collegiate team, but many fans and media pundits began to wonder that after the game they played in Seattle. Ray Claybrooks put on a masterful performance, one that rivaled men who’ve been in the league for decades.

Seattle jumped out to a quick 14 point lead after the first, and that was the begging of the spiraling decent Arizona’s defense took. Claybrooks called his own number as he snuck it into the end zone for their first score. Antonio Pierce then do all of the work himself. He sacked Seneca Wallace, stripped the ball while doing so, then grabbed it and ran it in for the score.

The second quarter saw Claybrooks run two more QB sneaks to add to their lead over the Cardinals. Arizona’s offense finally got on the board with a field goal as time expired. The Seattle lead was a giant 28-3 lead at halftime.

The third quarter was much the same as Gronkowski caught a 10 yard pass and broke multiple tackles on his way to pay dirt. Arizona at least showed signs of ‘defensive life’ as they stripped Marshawn Lynch then ran it back for a score. Seattle forgot all about that as the offense picked right back up and scored on another Claybrook sneak.

Seattle took a huge lead of 42-10 lead going into the fourth. In the final quarter, Seattle kept adding to their lead as Lynch ran it in from the 2. This was followed up by a McCoy catch as he ran a short out route. Arizona caught the Seattle defense napping as Jenkins was turned loose and scored on a 78 yard bomb. Claybrooks showed off his arm as he connected with rookie George for his own 65 yard bomb.

The final score was Seattle 63, Arizona 17. Fans left the stadium at the half, and chants of “Boo” and other cursing and vulgarity could be heard throughout the stands. Claybrooks ‘one-man show’ was impressive to watch as he went 26/37, 412 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT and rushed for 4 TD!!

“I’m speechless for once everybody”, was all he could muster to the media after the game.

SEATTLE CLINCHES FIRST ROUND BYE WITH VICTORY OVER RIVAL

Seattle played inspired football versus the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco started out playing well. Crabtree blew by Cason on his way towards an easy 65 yard touchdown. The Seahawks responded with a sustained drive, but were only able to get a field goal out of it. After San Francisco punted, Seattle was able to get a touchdown as Claybrooks found Smith for a 10 yard score. Seattle led 10-7, after the first.

The second was dueling quarterbacks. First it was Garrard from San Francisco finding Davis in the end zone to go up 14-10. Seattle was forced to punt and San Francisco found pay dirt again as Frank Gore rushed for a 3 yard score. San Francisco was now up 21-10. Seattle before the half got a touchdown as Claybrooks flipped it to Gronkowski for a score to make it a 21-17 game at the half.

Seattle started with the ball after the half, and got a touchdown to open up the quarter as Morris ran it in. Seattle now led 24-21. Seattle’s defense stepped up and forced a Frisco punt, and the offense took advantage as Claybrooks found rookie Moore running on the left hash for a 40 yard score, Seattle was building a sizable lead of 31-21. Seattle got another quick touchdown as they forced a turnover as Garrard was escaping the pocket, coughed up the ball and Pierce ran it back for a quick score. Seattle led 38-21 going into the fourth quarter.

Settle piled on 13 more points into the 49ers to route them with a final of 51-28 only because Crabtree burned Trufant late to get a touchdown as time expired.

With the blowout victory, Seattle clinched a first round bye, but not the top spot in the NFC. They had a 1 game lead over the Minnesota Vikings as they were holding the number 2 spot. Next weeks game versus the Cardinals whom they just got done trouncing could decide the top two spots in the NFC playoff picture.

SEATTLE CLINCHES TOP SPOT IN NFC PLAYOFF AFTER DEFEATING CARDINALS

Seattle’s motto was “one game at a time”, they kept focused on the current game. It showed as they defeated the Cardinals once more, this time is the sandy desert of Arizona.

The defense was tenacious, by causing Seneca Wallace to fumble on the second play of their opening drive. Seattle offense took the free possession and went in for a touchdown. Gronkowski ran it in for the score, Seattle took an early 7-0 lead.

Seattle got another possession after a Cardinals punt. This time the Cardinal defense got a takeaway as Claybrooks threw his first interception of the game to superstar safety ?? Arizona capitalized on this as Garrard tossed it to Fitzgerald for 19 yards. The game was tied early at 7-7.

The second quarter was uneventful as both defenses played well, as both teams exchanged multiple punts. It wasn’t until there were :90 left in the half that Claybrooks wedged himself on a QB sneak for the touchdown. Seahawks took a 14-7 lead going into the half.

Seattle got the ball after the break, and Lynch busted a long 77 yard touchdown on a sweep right while breaking multiple tackles and following his blockers. Claybrooks threw his second interception to ??? which turned into a field goal after Seattle had a nice goal line stand. Seattle Lynch scored on a 12 yard run on their next possession. The down side is Claybrooks was knocked out. Further tests would be for the next day after the game. Seattle took a healthy 28-10 lead into the fourth quarter.

Backup quarterback Leinart only hand to manage the game. Seattle scored as Gronk got his second rushing you shown of the game. A few minutes later Leinart connected with safety net Alex Smith for a score. Larry Fitzgerald then found h the end zone again on a 41 yard pass as he escaped Weddle’s tackle. Leinart scores on his own QB sneak. Seattle’s defense was lax, as Weddle and Thomas missed tackles allowing Fitzgerald to get his third touchdown of the night. As time expired Fitzgerald got his fourth touchdown, but Seattle offense was too much to overcome.

Final score was Seattle 56, Arizona 34. The win, coupled with Minnesota losing allowed Seattle to claim the Number 1 spot in the NFC playoff picture. This would prove pivotal should they square off against the Number 2 spot, Minnesota Vikings whom were locked in to that spot.

RAY CLAYBROOKS HAS BRUISED RIGHT ARM AS RESULT OF BIG HIT

Ray Claybrooks suffered a bruised throwing arm after he was the recipient of a big hit from linebacker Joey Porter. Tests showed that there was no major damage.

“I’m relieved about the news. I’m confident that Ray will be ready for next weeks finale. We get the privilege to play in the final Monday Night Football game of the year. We will monitor his status, and how he feels. The training staff is some of the best in the business” Pete told the media.

“It’s been a wild ride. Taking hits and getting banged up is part of the game I’ve always loved. I’ll let the staff work on my shoulder, and I’ll take it day by day“, Ray told reporters.

RAY HAS OFF GAME AS VIKINGS OFFENSE BLOWS UP FOR 55 POINTS VERSUS SEATTLE DEFENSE

Ray Claybrooks didn’t look like his usual self in the Monday Night Football finale versus the Minnesota Vikings. The Seattle defense played well below their standards, even if their standards were very high.

Minnesota jumped out to an early 21 point lead and never looked back. Antoine Cason was picked on and abused by multiple Vikings receivers. First it was Sidney Rice as Cason was caught out of position as he burned for a long 65 yard touchdown. Then it was Johnny Lee Higgins who caught a 55 yard bomb as he blew past Cason. It was Higgins’ first of three touchdown on the evening.

Seattle was able to muster a field goal, half way through. Then Claybrooks connected with tight end McCoy who made a quick cut and ran 55 yards for the score. Before the end of the quarter Rice burned Cason again, which set up a Peterson 2 yard plunge. Vikings led 21-10 after the first.

The second quarter started out better as the Hawks defense held the Vikings to a field goal, while Claybrooks found Smith for a score to make it a 24-17 game. Too bad Higgins caught a pass, shook Weddle and ran in for the long 76 yard score. This was a common theme for the entire evening as a whole. Viking led 31-17 at the half.

The third quarter was when the Vikings showcased their running game. Peterson ran up the heart of the Seattle defense and scored on a long 75 yard run. He then added another short 4 yard score towards the end of the quarter.

The Seahawks were only able to muster 3 touchdowns in the second half, but the Vikings offense was too much. Minnesota won by a final score of 55-38, putting the Seahawks on notice that they were coming for the Lombardi Trophy.

“Maybe we rushed Ray back our, but he was cleared by the medical staff, and he didn’t have any pain or swelling. He’ll have a full week to rest up as we got a first round bye. We will be good to go in the Divisional Round for our opponent” — Pete Carroll

“Yeah, not my best game. It could have been rust, didn’t get into the game flow much. Credit to Minnesota defense and their offense.” — Ray Claybrooks

NICHOLS’ LEG SENDS SEAHAWKS INTO CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Seattle’s Ray Claybrooks started out on the worst note possible. He threw an interception on his first pass attempt. Lucky for him his defense stood tall and held the Cowboys to a field goal to strike first on the scoreboard. Seattle answered on their next possession as Lynch plunged in from 1 yard. At the end of the first, Jones rushed for a absurd 78 yard run up the right sideline as he weaved through traffic for the score. Dallas led 10-7.

The second quarter belonged to the Hawks. First, it was a Nichols field goal. Dallas got their next possession, but Maualuga has a different idea. He hit Jones DP hard he coughed up the ball and Antonio Pierce grabbed it and ran it back for the 57 yard score. Claybrooks used his timeouts perfectly and added a 1 yard sneak before time expired on the quarter. Seattle led 24-10 at the half.

The third quarter was dueling touchdowns. First it was Dallas’ Choice who scored on a 8 yard run. Then 4 minutes later Claybrooks found Smith on a seam route for a score of his own. The fourth quarter began with a 31-17 Seahawks lead.

With 8 minutes to go, Romo found Anderson for a touchdown, and followed it up with a Witten 2-point conversion, Dallas was down 31-24. Nichols made a field goal with 1:02 left in the game to push the lead to 34-24. Dallas’ Romo tossed a touchdown to Dez Bryant in the back of the end zone with :30 seconds to go. Luckily Seattle recovered the onside kick and knelt the ball.

Seattle won the game by a score of 34-31. The game ball was given to Antonio Pierce for his fumble recovery for a touchdown and kicker Nichols for his game winning field goal.

“I’m proud of my guys, with their drive to never give up. Next, we face Carolina and the talented Vince Young and company” — Coach Carroll

SEATTLE MAKES BACK-TO-BACK SUPER BOWL APPEARANCE AFTER PANTHERS GET DE-CLAWED

Seattle won the coin toss and deferred until the second half. Their defense set the tone as they forced a punt. Seattle used up 4 minutes of the first quarter as Claybrooks ran it in from 1 yard as he called his own number to end the first quarter with a 7-0 lead.

The second quarter was all Seahawks as they put up 20 points before the half had come. It started out a few minutes in when Nichols knocked home field goal and another a minute later. Seattle’s defense got back-to-back interceptions; Th e second was by Nick Reed who ran it back for a defensive touchdown. The half ended as Claybrooks connected with tight end Smith for a 31 yard touchdown up the seam. Seattle led 27-0 at the half.

The third quarter was better for the Panthers as Steve Smith blew by Cason for a long 78 yard touchdown from Vince Young. The two teams exchanged field goals the end the third quarter Seahawks leading 30-10.

The Panthers did their best to make a game of it by scoring 20 points in the final frame. Their defense wasn’t up to the task as they allowed Seattle to keep pace and drop 17 points of their own. Carolina’s Williams ran it in from 1, but Lunch responded but taking the next play from scrimmage up the right sideline for a soul crushing 88 yard touchdown. Steve Smith caught his second touchdown from 8 yards out, but Seattle’s Nichols got a field goal to keep the pressure up. LaFell caught a touchdown to get the game within 10 points at 40-30, but McCoy made sure the game was over by catching a 40 yard touchdown to end the game at 47-30.

With this victory, Seattle would be heading to Indianapolis , to play in Lucas Oil Stadium. They are seeking their second Lombardi Trophy in as many years.

Seattle once again boasts the best passing attack in the National Football League this season, led by rookie phenom Ray Claybrooks. The high octane offense will be facing off against a stingy defense that has only allowed the opposition to score an average of 17.8 points per game. The Jets know how to attack the quarterback, but so do the Seahawks as both team rank top-15 in sacks

This game will come down to whether or not the Jets defense can step up, and ground the Seahawks air game, and can force the rookie signal caller into long downs and force the rookie to make some mistakes.
