NATE ABDULLAH RECORDS 3 SACKS IN 34-10 VICTORY OVER SAINTS

Seattle and New Orleans struggled offensively in the first half. Seattle’s lone points came on a touchdown pass to George on a slant route from 28-yards out. With 3 minutes remaining Claybrooks threw his first of two interceptions which New Orleans ran back to set up 1st and goal. The defense stood strong and held them to a field goal before half to go into the locker room with a 7-3 lead.

The second half saw Seattle make adjustments on offense as Lynch ran in from 2-yards. The Saints marched right down the field and got a 4-yard run of their own by Forrest. Seattle then made sure to assert their offensive dominance as Karney scored on his old time via a 2-yard flat pass.

Seattle added on 13 more points in the final frame to make sure there was no comeback.

The Seattle defense was harassing Drew Brees and sacked him a whopping 7 times, as Nate Abdullah was presented the game ball by DC Belichick

RAY CLAYBROOKS THROWS FOR 5 TOUCHDOWNS IN BLOWOUT VICTORY OVER RAMS

It was all Seahawks from the kickoff. After forcing a Bradford turnover, Claybrooks found Gronkowski in the flat for a 4-yard score. Then before the end of the quarter, Claybrooks tossed it to Karney who broke a couple of tackles before going in for the 18-yard score.

Karney added a 1-yard plunge halfway through the second before Nichols added a field goal before the half. Seahawks led 24-0, a lead they would continue to add onto.

The third quarter was more Claybrooks dominance as he set up an Arrington 1-yard plunge after connecting with George on a beautiful 38-yard complete toon down the left sideline. Claybrooks then tossed it to Lynch in the left flat who did the rest to get the 11-yard score.

The fourth quarter the Rams scored twice, both on big plays. The first was Devone Bess beating Cason for an 82-yard score, the second was Michael Gilyard streaking across the middle and outrunning everyone for a 53-yard score. In between those two scores, Seattle forced a safety after Abdullah tackled Jackson in the end zone and Arrington caught an 8-yard score. Tyler Boyd ended the night as he caught Claybrooks 5th touchdown on a flat pass that he dove in the end zone to cap of the special night.

Claybrooks had a stellar night, going 35 if 45, for 478 yards and 5 touchdowns to 1 interception.

HAWKS DOMINATE COLTS 45-26 AS CLAYBROOKS HAS ANOTHER SOLID NIGHT

Ray Claybrooks had another good night, despite making one costly throw. Claybrooks found Gronkowski down the seam for a 16-yard score. While Indy came back and got a field goal minutes later.

The second quarter saw the Hawks get a field goal to start to quarter. A punt got blocked in the end zone for a safety as Session tackles poor Nick Harris after he covered up the ball. Seattle made sure to put that mistake behind them as Lynch ran it in from 1-yard to go into the half with a 17-5 lead.

Indianapolis refused to quit as Session picked off an ill-advised throw to Lynch from Claybrooks who took it back for the 18-yard pick-6. Seattle got right back to work scoring back-to-back touchdowns. Gronkowski grabbed his second of the game as he caught a corner route and ran over a guy for the 28-yard score. Then Tyler Boyd ran right, and juked a guy out of his cleats for the 13-yard score.

The final quarter saw team exchange touchdowns. First was Indy, as Reggie Wayne ran it in the 4-yard jet sweep run. Then Seattle’s Arrington dove in from the 1-yard line. Then George ran it in from 1-yard for the Indy score. Seattle put an exclamation on the game as Indianapolis guessed run but Hawkins ran straight and went in for the easy 65-yard bomb.

The final line for Claybrooks was 25 of 40 for 388 yards, 3 touchdowns to 1 interception. He was happy to be back on track, but gave all the credit to the guys on his team.

“I’m finally playing like I knew I could. The team kept their faith in me, and picked me up after I made mistakes. I just don’t want my effectiveness to cost the team games”

SEAHAWKS KEEP UNBEATEN STREAK BUT LOSE POLAMALU IN PROCESS

The game was back and forth. The first quarter ended tied after both kickers exchanged field goals.

The second quarter the Hawks started with a touchdown as Lynch bullied his way up the gut for a 7-yard score. Andre Johnson caught the Hawks defense napping as he blew by Trufant for an explosive 79-yard score. Before the half, Arrington caught a swing pass and scored from 7-yards out to take a 17-10 lead into the locker room.

Richie Barrie caught a 48-yard pass from Barnes shortly into the third period to tie the game at 17. Before the end of the quarter Nichols knocked in a 29-yard field goal.

Karney got the game winning touchdown pass from 2-yards out, but Houston managed to score as Barnes snuck it in with 1:30 left in the game. Troy Polamalu was injuries on the final drive of the Texans. He tackled a receiver, but got hit by a fellow lineman trying to make a play. He laid on the ground for some time and had to be carted off the field. The Hawks recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock.

More tests would have to be done to further diagnose Troy, but first look was not good at all.

TESTS CONFIRM BROKEN TAILBONE FOR TROY POLAMALU, OUT 10-12 WEEKS

One of the hardest hitting strong safeties in the game suffered a sever injury. On one of the final plays of last weeks game, which the Hawks were victorious over the Houston Texans, test have revealed that Troy Polamalu suffered a broken tailbone.

His prognosis is to have immediate surgery to set the brake, and then he will be sidelined for the next 10-12 weeks in recovery and eventually physical therapy.

DESEAN JACKSON HAULS IN 3 TOUCHDOWNS BUT EAGLES STILL LOSE BY 3

The game started out as a good defensive battle as neither team yielded much yardage. Nichols managed to knock in a 48-yard field half way through the first in windy conditions to take a 3-0 lead.

The second quarter both offenses got going. Gronkowski caught his first touchdown as he took a post route in for the 29-yard score. Glen Nichols added another 34-yard field goal to push the lead to 13-0. Claybrooks’ called an audible at the line and faced some pressure. He went to throw the ball when it popped out as Ernie Sims scooped it up and ran it back for the 45-yard fumble recovery touchdown giving the Eagles their first points. DeSean Jackson caught touchdown number one on a little 4-yard slant route from Aaron Rodgers. Seattle had different ideas however as Lavelle Hawkins screamed past his defender and hauled in a 80-yard touchdown pass to end the first half with a 21-14 lead after a successful 2-pt try.

The third quarter was Philadelphia’s quarter as they scored twice. DeSean Jackson hauled in passes of 13 and 8 yards, one from backup Cutler and the other from Rodgers as Rodgers was being looked at because of a potential ankle injury which turned out to be nothing.

Seattle’s third string tight end Craig Steven caught a corner post pattern, broke a few tackles and tumbled in for a 39-yards score to set up a 28-28 tie heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter was rife with drama, as these two powerhouse teams went at it. Both defenses played tough as the only points scored was a field goal of 23-yards by Nichols giving them the go ahead points with 6:40 to go.

Seattle stonewalled Cutler’s attempt at a comeback to go into week 13’s matchup versus the Tennessee Titans in rare company as not many teams have started a season 11-0. Looking at their remaining schedule, it’s conceivable they could go undefeated...but each team will be throwing everything they’ve got at the Hawks.

HAWKS GIVE UP FIRST BIG PLAY THEN GO ON TO ROUTE TITANS 37-7

The Titans only took one play to get points on the board. The all star Chris Johnson ran it off tackle and to the house for an explosive 78-yard touchdown run to set the tone early. Seattle responded by going 85 yards in 12 plays capped off by a Lynch 1-yard run to tie the game at 7. Too bad for Tennessee the Seahawks defense was not so giving for the rest of the game. The downside was, Seattle lost their star wideout Chad Ochocinco as he went down with what has deemed a hip injury and would need tests in the coming days to see how bad it was.

Seattle scored at the beginning of the second quarter as Lynch squeezed over the goal line for a 1-yard score, then at the halfway Mark Gronkowski caught a 6 yard post route to go into halftime with a 21-7 lead.

The Titans defense forced a punt early into the third quarter, but veteran punter Nick Harris pinned them on the 2-yard line. After a holding penalty, Lawrence Jackson tackled Chris Johnson in the end zone for a safety.

Seattle added on passing touchdowns of 21-yards and 4-yards to tight ends Smith and Gronkowski respectively to put the game absurdly out of reach by a final score of 37-7.

The Hawks next test will be 8-4 Jacksonville Jaguars as they travel to Seattle to try their hand at giving the Hawks their first loss of the year.

CHAD OCHOCINCO SUFFERS BROKEN TAILBONE ON FIRST PLAY AND OUT FOR SEASON

Chad Ochocinco has been called baller, a diva, among other things. Now, at the veteran age of 35, he suffered a broken tailbone that will require surgery and will end his season even if the Hawks make it back to the Suowr Bowl.

A rumor immediately started about whether he will retire after this year, because recovering from such an injury may limit or hamper his ability and production.

He told the media, “I want to focus on my surgery and my recovery. I will deal with all that noise later once I’m back healthy and going into training camp. Until then, GO HAWKS and bring me a ring back ‘kay”

JACKSONVILLE MAKES LATE NOISE BUT NO MATCH FOR HAWKS OFFENSE FALLING 36-26

Jacksonville started out the game with 10 unanswered points. First it was a Jay Feely field goal, followed by a Jones-Drew 2-yard run.

The Seahawks finally got points on the board early in the second quarter via a 40-yard field goal, which they followed up 4 minutes later with a perfectly thrown ball to George as it was placed high towards the sideline for a 36-yard score. Seattle tacked on a field goal before the end of the half to take a 13-10 lead.

The second quarter started out miserable for the Hawks as their offense stalled and their defense gave up a game tying field goal. Their next possession Claybrooks was strip-sacked by Calais Campbell and his teammate Curtis Holt scooped and ran it back 55-yard for the score to go up 19-13. Before the quart was over, Arrington ran it in from 1-yard to go up 20-19 heading into the fourth quarter.

Seattle knows how to close out games, and they did just that. Nichols got a field goal, thanks to Lamar Sparks forcing a fumble from Matt Cassel. Marcus Trufant who has probably forgotten more football than what some know, read Matt Cassel’s eyes and jumped a route. He then took it back 30-yard for a pick-6. The Hawks lead was 29-17.

Jacksonville wasn’t backing down, they marched down the field as Jones-Drew scored with a tick over 6 minutes to make it a 29-26 ball game. Seattle couldn’t kill the clock but forced them to punt. Seattle then drove down 57-yards in 11 plays as Claybrooks ran behind his beefy linemen for a 2-yard score to cap off his efficient evening, for a final of 36-26.

Claybrooks completed 20 of 32 for 378 yards and 1 touchdown. His next opponent would be the Rams, who he lit up for 53 points week 9 in St. Louis.

DIFFERENT WEEK BUT SAME RESULT AS HAWKS WIN 31-12

The Rams held Seattle in check most of the game. Claybrooks connected with Gronkowski down the seam for a 33-yard score. Thanks to multiple overthrown balls, the Rams got two interceptions. Seattle would at least hold the Rams to a pair of field goals, and take a 7-6 lead after the first quarter

Claybrooks would start by tossing an 8-yard score to Smith, and take a 14-6 lead into the locker room.

The third quarter only saw the Hawks put up a lone field goal.

The fourth quarter had some action however as Seattle put up points in the beginning and end of the quarter. Craig Stevens caught a pass that deflected off of George’s hands for a 2-yard score. Javon Ringer for the Rams scored on a 4-yard run, but it was Seattle’s Arrington who got the last points with a 20-yard reception.

INJURY BUG BITES TWICE AS SEATTLE HOLDS OFF SECOND HALF SURGE OF VIKINGS

It was a tale of two half’s on Monday Night Football. The first half was all Seahawks as they scored 27 points, as most people thought they were going to handedly win the game.

Claybrooks marched down the field and found Gronkowski in the back of the end zone for a 23-yard score. He then followed it up minutes later as George made an adjustment on the ball and snatched it out of the air for a 32-yard score. Minnesota got a line field goal to make it 14-3 after one quarter of play.

The second quarter was much the same, Glen Nichols kicked a field goal and Claybrook converted on a quarterback sneak to push the lead to 24-3. Minnesota was pinned on their 1-yard line when Adrian Peterson busted off the right side and down the sideline for a 99-yard score to deflate the Hawks for the moment. Right before the half, Seattle kicked a field goal to make it 27-10.

The second half, was anything but Seahawks. The first play, Claybrooks got rid of the ball with pressure bearing down, and his elbow hit the turf hard. He left the game, with a deep bone bruise and would be evaluated the next day. The first pass for backup rookie Kendall Jenkins was picked off by Cedric Griffin who ran in back 28-yard for the tide changing pick-6.

Jenkins settled down and drove them down on his next series and found Moore for the 28-yard score, while Nichols hit another field goal before entering the fourth quarter with a 37-17 lead.

Seattle couldn’t run the ball, and Jenkins just didn’t have the arm talent to sling it like Claybrooks. The Seattle defense almost blew the large lead as they gave up two touchdowns...the first on a Peterson run and the second from Berrian’s 5-yarder from Flacco. On the drive when Peterson scored, young talent J.T. Hutchinson went down with elbow injury as well.

Seattle held Minnesota on their game tying drive with under a minute to go to remain undefeated, as their only roadblock was the Carolina Panthers as they would finish the season on Monday Night Football in the great Pacific Northwest.

J.T. HUTCHINSON WEEK-TO-WEEK AFTER DIAGNOSED WITH ELBOW STRAIN

The elbow was examined by Seattle doctors and luckily the Hawks star free safety will just be sidelined for a couple weeks. They have Eric Weddle as their backup just as an embarrassment of riches at the position.

Many in the Hawk’s Nest wonder why their players are getting injured all of a sudden, as they are expected to make a deep run in the playoff this year to atone for last year’s early first round exit.

SEAHAWKS CAP OFF PERFECT REGULAR SEASON BY DROPPING 53 TO AVENGE LAST YEAR’S PLAYOFF LOSS TO PANTHERS!!

Seattle game started out horribly as usually reliant Mike Karney caught the ball on a flat route and went for the first down. He got crushed by bruising linebacker Jon Beason and put the ball on the turf, his first of three fumbles. Michael Boley scooped it up and ran it back for the 58-yard fumble recovery touchdown.

The Hawks settled down after that as Claybrooks found Lewis Moore as he blew by Captain Munnerlyn as he bit on play action as Moore went in for the 51-yard score without a defender near him. Claybrooks then found Lynch down the seam for a 25-yard score to go up 14-7 after the first.

The second quarter was even worst then the first as multiple turner overs by Seattle cost them potential points. The first was an interception by Claybrooks as he failed to see Sherrod Martin taking the underneath route to snag it. Then the second was another Karney fumble on his way to a first down, this time he got crushed by Everette Brown. The Hawks defense stood stronger though as they forced punts on both occasion. It was finally a 6-yard pass to Arrington with :33 to go in the half to give them a 21-7 lead.

The third quarter was tragedy and joy. Young defensive tackle Biff Young went down with an injury to his lower back. After tense moments, he gave a thumbs up to the crowd as he was carted off the field. Then joy came as Smith caught a 29-yard pass down the seam, followed up a couple series later by a Nichols field goal and then Eugene Bronson stripped Jonathan Stewart of his only pass catch and proceeded to run it back for the 18-yard scoop and score. As time hit 0:00 in the third, Young connected with Antonio Gates on fourth down to make it a 38-14 game.

The Hawks defense shut out the Panthers in the final quarter, while the offense added 20 more points to make sure the Panthers knew they hadn’t forgotten about last year. With the beatdown, Seattle added on the fact they eliminated the Panthers from playoff contention as Green Bay claimed the final spot.

BIFF YOUNG OUT FOR POSTSEASON WITH STRAINED BACK

Star defensive tackle Biff Young will be out for the next 9-10 weeks with a severe strained back. He has full range of motion and feeling, so the risk of paralysis isn’t there luckily. It’s just another blow to a team with clear Super Bowl aspirations on their mind.

In a logical move the Hawks placed him on IR, to free up a spot on their 53-man roster. They signed veteran Shaun Cody to a 1-year deal for $1M + $150K bonus to provide depth behind Pro Bowl Mike Patterson and rookie Lamar Sparks for the upcoming playoff run.

CLAYBROOKS TAKES HOME MVP HONORS AT AWARDS SHOW

Ray Claybrooks ended the year on a high note. He brought his team into the playoffs with a perfect score of 16-0, and the sports writers rewards his dedication and hard work with an unanimous vote for NFL MVP of 2014. He finished the year with over 5500 yards passing, 39 touchdowns to 21 interceptions and completing 59% of his passes. He added on 2 rushing touchdowns for good measure. He received the Best Quarterback award for good measure beating out Aaron Rodgers.

He was the only trophy getter on the Seahawks as Eugene Bronson took home Defensive Player of the Year honors as well as Best Linebacker honors. He registered 95 total tackles, 7 sacks, along with 4 interceptions.

Mike Pollak received Best Offensive Lineman award for both the NFL/NFC by only allowing 4 sacks on the year, beating out the rest of his talented team of Winston Justice and Kwame Harris.

Mike Patterson earned Best Defensive Tackle honors for the NFL/NFC by dragging down opposing quarterbacks 12 times, and being a force up front with 53 total tackles.

Benjamin Leon was flying all over the field in route to taking home the Best Defensive Back award. He claimed 5 interceptions (1 for a TD), and got 61 tackles beating out a talented Nick Collins from Green Bay for the award.

Coach Pete Carroll was the obvious choice for Coach of the Year. He with the help of his coordinators took the team to a perfect regular season of 16-0.
