With a playoff that featured James Madison, Bowling Green and UAB making it's first playoff's and teams like Boise State and Michigan playing in the 8th and 7th, 2 teams emerged for their shot at the Natty.

Texas Tech is making it's 5th straight playoff appearance is looking for its 4th Natty in 5 years well Oregon is looking to finally get what Nike owner Phil Knight has been paying for for the last 9 years playing in their 2nd Natty since their loss to Clemson in 2025.

Coach Scott is no stranger to the Ducks, having played Oregon in all 4 seasons well at BSU as well as leading Boise State to a victory over Oregon in the 2026 Semi Finals. Scott is (3-2) vs the Ducks as Oregon.

    Coach Scott

Well most people love to talks about Offense and for good reason as TTU ranks #1 and Oregon ranks #3. This game will be decided by the defense. Texas Tech is #3 in the nation in least amount of points allowed and is averaging just 13 points in their 2 wins over over Boise State and Bowling Green resulting in blowout wins.

Oregon however however has had to put some work into getting here with a 6 point win over James Madison in Round 2 and just a 2 point win over Michigan last week with teams averaging 28 points a game against them.

Both team's boast 2 of the Best Pass Rush's in the country as Oregon leads the nation with 55 sacks (SR's J. Gallimore 15.5 sacks and M. Sturgis 13 sacks), well Texas Tech is #3 with 48, going up against the Top-3 Passing Offenses in the nation (Texas Tech #1 with 4976 yds and Oregon #3 with 4449 yds.

    Coach Scott

That offense will need to be at the top of their game though if they are going to match the output of TTT that is favored by 14 points to win their 4th Natty.
You accidentally posted this in my USC thread lol

"I have had 12 loss's in my career and Oregon was actually responsible for my 1st and I can still remember it like it was yesterday, despite it being 9 years ago.. Well TTU and Oregon are not natural rivals, it's safe to say the Ducks are my rivals."

        RED RAIDERS WIN #4!!!!

Texas Tech makes history joining the Minnesota Gophers (1934,1935,1936) as the only other team to win 3 straight championships in College Football in the past 100 years, as Phil Knight once again fails to buy the Ducks a National Title.

        GAME RECAP

Oregon jumped out to a (14-0) lead as Freddie Vildor is picked off on the opening drive but TTU answers back after a Oregon score with 1 play as Freddie Vildor hits Brian Head on a 72 yd bomb to make it (14-7) at the end of the 1st Quarter. Head and Vidor would hook up for TD #2 midway through the 2nd Quarter as both teams go into the locker room tied (14-14).

Texas Tech opened up the 2nd half with a 9 play drive capped by a 27 yd TD strike from Vildor to "King" Felix Addison to give TTU the lead, but the Ducks answer back as JC Spitzer takes the handoff 28 yds for the score to tie the game again (21-21).

A Vildor INT killed the Red Raiders chance at taking the lead into the 4th but Oregon fails to capitalize leaving it a tied game.

TTU takes the lead midway through the 4th as Vildor and Addison hook up for their 2nd TD of the day to give Texas Tech the (28-21) lead, but Oregon again answers the call as backup RB SO Jimmy Wood (82 ovr) finishes off a 11 play drive with a 1 yd score to tie the game (28-28) with 2:12 to play.

Coach Scott knew at this point the winner of the game would most likely be whoever had the ball last.. With Vildor already having thrown 2 INT in the game, took no chances as the Red Raiders use 7 plays to get the ball inside the Redzone and after forcing Oregon to burn all 3 of their timeouts, TTU sends out JR PK Doug Khaled with 5 seconds to play in the game to kick a chip shot FG (17 yds) for the game winner. The kick is good, as TTU takes the crown...

FINAL SCORE TEXAS TECH-31 OREGON -28

        KEY PLAYERS

What a game for the three peat! Vildor came up clutch when he needed to keep the Red Raiders at the top.

                2033 TEXAS TECH MEDIA GUIDE

                THE SCHEDULE

Texas Tech coming off back to back Championships riding a 29 game winning streak will once again start the year #1 (We will get a Top-25 post up later). TTU will be challenged Week 1 as they travel to Columbus Ohio to take on the #12 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes.

TTU then returns home for a 3 game homestand starting in Week 2 with a 2032 Natty rematch with #2 Oregon, followed by a Week 3 matchup with Alabama and then a Week 4 matchup with North Texas before taking off Week 5 with a "Bye"

Texas Tech returns to action in Week 6 @ TCU with the "Battle for the Saddle" on the line before returning home to host Houston in Week 7

Week 8 and 9, the Red Raiders are back on the road @ TAMU and @ #7 Nebraska before returning home for a Week 10 matchup vs #11 Oklahoma

Week 11 TTU is back on the road in Austin to face Texas with the Chancellor Spurs up for grabs, before closing out their season at home vs Oklahoma State in Week 12 and vs Baylor in Week 13 for 'Senior Night"

                ROSTER CUTS

After securing the #1 Recruiting Class last season with 25 players including 11-5* recruits, Coach Scott was faced with a very difficult decision as he had to release 15 players from scholarships. Several players have found new homes. Here are a few of them.

WR RS JR Bobby Byron (80 ovr) 50 rec 781 yds 5 TD (Kentucky)
WR RS SR LaMichael Murray (80 ovr) 15 ec 334 yds 5 TD (Indiana)
WR RS SO Jay Washington (76 ovr) 2 rec 24 yds (Colorado State
TE RS SO Demarco Awoskia (76 ovr) 1 rec 2 yds 1 TD (Air Force)
FB RS SR Deon Irving (76 ovr) 1 rec 1 yd 1 TD (Air Force)

                Coach Scott
"Our WR room just got a little crowded.. Last year we had huge years from Redshirt Freshman Brian Head and Felix Addison. Both are former 5* guy's and we knew they had impact type abilities. We also still have Rico Hatfield as well as Prince Ekwonu and now we got guy's like Craig Smyth (5*) and Dashaun Riggins (4*) coming off redshirts as well. Both Byron and Murray were huge for us in past seasons but at the end of the day both players wanted opportunites for more snaps and PT, same with Jay Washington, the kid is just to talented to be sitting on our sidelines as a #7 WR. I am excited to see how they do with their new schools"
FORMER RED RAIDERS EXCELLING AT NEW SCHOOLS

Last season we saw 2 former TTU Red Raiders who excelled at their new schools.

Former 4* QB Dee Fuller (87 ovr) threw for 3108 yds with 30 TD and 7 INT for Arizona State last season and former 3* WR RS JR Eric Lopes (79 ovr) had 53 rec for 711 yds and 9 TD for Boston College last year as the Eagles #1 WR.

A EARLY LOOK INTO 2033 RECRUITING

Coach Scott and the TTU staff have 17 scholarships via Seniors and probably 3 scholarships via early draft potentials to deal with this year as the possibility of transfers, its safe to say the Texas Tech class once again will be somewhere between 20-25 players.

With 5 graduating Seniors on the O-Line and just 4 OLB currently on the roster, I would expect those 2 positions to be TTU's biggest needs as well as securing another QB as well.

                Coach Scott
"We currently have 42 True/Redshirt Freshman on the roster that were apart of a #1 and #5 Class, so we feel pretty good about the future of this program, but if you as a coach don't continue to reload each year you will find yourself in a full blown rebuild state and that's not something we are looking to do"
When asked if Coach Scott was going to try and break his record of 11-5* Recruits in a class, he had this to say "
Well we got 16 we are currently scouting and have made scholarship offers to, so yeah it's safe to say we are trying to break our record"
Reports are 3 of those players are RB Rashaad Hollliday (#1 Overall/#1 OH/#1 RB) from Mentor Ohio, QB Curtis McFadden (#2 Overall/#1 LA/#1 QB) from Lafayette LA and DE Luis Crummey (#8 Overall/#1 TX/#1 DE) from Coppell TX.

                Coach Scott
"I think alot of people look at our RB room right now and think we are probably crazy to try and land another 5* after already having 3 on the roster plus a 1000 yd rusher in JR Netori Morton, but talent like Holliday is excited about your school, you don't turn the kid away and say go sign at Ohio State, we don't need you. We are excited about McFadden he reminds us alot of both GNK and Vildor with his ability to make plays with his feet and outside the pocket.. However we have already been told, he loves the idea of staying home and playing for the Ragin Cajuns, so it's going to be a tough battle ahead.. Our #1 priority every year is to sign the best of Texas and honestly with the type of year our D-Line had last year, I will be shocked if we don't see some guy's getting NFL looks early, so its never a bad thing to have extra pass rushers on our team..

some tough matchups early on that will definitely test the defense, but even if you drop a game or two along the way I don't see this team slumping enough to keep them from challenging for a natty again!

Really like the update on where transfers are going and how they performed, nice to know they don't disappear into the ether lol

Thanks. Yeah I am excited to get rolling. Playing a school like Ohio State on the road is always tough. I struggle sometimes not being able to see the routes and what buttons each receiver is and sometimes I throw to the wrong spot, so it should be a good game and I figured I owed them a home game after making them come to Lubbock last season.. I thought about scheduling Oregon on the road too, but didn't want to play the first 2 weeks on the road. I will most likely put Oregon on the schedule next year and play in Eugene.

Alabama hasn't made the playoffs much during this Dynasty, but they are a 90 Overall this year and I am am surprised they are not ranked. If they win their first 2 weeks (@ Arizona and vs a FCS school) I think they will be rated when we play.

North Texas is actually a 84 overall and one of the best Texas schools not in the Big 12, so I figured why not give them a chance to knock off the big dog.

My Defense is pretty stout. I basically only have 2 new starters, Gash at DT and Beckford at CB. I am a 93 Overall with a 94 Defense and 92 Offense, so to be completely honest I am not sure how much trouble we will have his year, but at least the schedule should give me some closer games.

It was fun tracking down the transfers and also finding some former guy's who ended up playing well. I am going to try and make a spread sheet so I can do a better job of keeping track. I also want to start doing a better job of tracking some of the recruits that turn me down like 5* QB Garrison Irving (90 ovr) who signed with Colorado and threw for 3315 yds with 30 TD and 9 INT

                      IN-DEPTH LOOK AT THE ROSTER

                      QUARTERBACK

National Player of the Year and Heisman Winner RS SO Freddie Vildor (85 ovr) is QB1. Vildor passed for 4850 yds with 53 TD and 12 INT last year well adding 466 yds and 9 TD on the ground. Now the question is does he follow in GNK's footsteps and stay at TTU for 4 years or will NFL dreams coming calling early.

Former 3* Recruit RS SR Joey Heredia (82 ovr) takes over as QB2. Heredia hasn't played a snap yet for the Red Raiders but he is a fan favorite and teammates love him.

Former 5* Recruit, RS FR Junior Tu'ikolvatu (77 ovr) is coming off his redshirt and will be the team's #3. Unlike Vildor and Heredia, Junior is a pure pocket passer who some think could potentially look at the transfer portal for a offense that better suits his game, but time will tell.

4* Recruit Raekwon Segal (78 ovr) will redshirt this season. Segal has a similar build and play style of Vildor/Heredia and some believe a better future at TTU then J.T.

                      RUNNING BACK

Previously known as a passing offense, the TTU offense had a different look last season as the Red Raiders led the nation in rushing..

RS JR Netori Morton (93 ovr) led the team with 179 carries for 1097 yds (6.1 avg) and 10 TDs' despite missing almost 5 weeks.

Former 5* RS SO Sean Byham (89 ovr) played great as the #2 with 990 yds of combined offense (818 rush/172 receiving) with 16 TD's (12 rushing/4 receving)

RS SO JJ Robert (94 ovr) had a huge spring game and actually looks ready to take on a bigger role as he pushes Morton and Byham for more carries. Roberts last year had 58 carries for 321 yds (5.5 avg) and 3 TD's well also working on special teams (14 KR for 325 yds (23.2 avg) and 25 punt returns for 236 yds (9.4 avg)

RS SO Jaylen Kalu (84 ovr) saw even more limited action with just 7 carris for 90 yds with 1 TD, but had a team high 12.9 yd average showing that he needs a bigger role in the offense.

5* Recruit Nico Souza (82 ovr) will redshirt this season and look to carve out some type of role in 2034 and beyond.

                      FULLBACK

Former TE RS JR Spencer Bostic (85 ovr) converted to FB last season and took over as the starter. He carried the ball just 2 times (9 yds) and had 1 rec 3 yds and a TD.

5* Recruit Ezekiel Warmack (74 ovr) has made the move to FB. Listed at 5'10 232 lbs, Warmack will redshirt this season, but look for him to fill a goal line role next year as Coach Scott looks to get the FB more involved in the run game.

                      WIDE RECEIVER

A trio of 5* Recruits sits atop the depth chart with another joining the fold this season as the teams #5.

RS JR Rico Hatfield (85 ovr) returns as the teams #1. Hatfield after posting 90 rec for 1555 yds and 21 TD's in 2031, saw his #'s dip with the addition of Head and Addison as he finished with 51 rec for 910 yds and 12 TD last year.

RS SO Felix Addison (88 ovr) returns as the teams #2.. Listed at 6'4 214 lbs, Addison is the perfect goaline target and after posting 56 rec for 875 yds and 10 TD's he has despite missing 5 games, he has shown he has the potential to have even bigger #'s this year.

RS SO Brian Head (93 ovr) is listed as the #3, but that's because he lines up in the slot. Head had a huge year last year leading the team with 74 rec for 1524 yds and 14 TD. He also showed the ability to make plays out of the backfield with 9 rushes for 115 yds and 2 TD, as he finished #5 in the POY voting.

RS SR Prince Ekwonu (76 ovr), is a player who plays with 1000% heart. Prince has 158 receptions with 2367 yds and 26 TD's over the past 3 seasons .. He will be the team's #4

RS FR Craig Smythe (83 ovr) will be the team's #5. The former 5* is coming off a redshirt season and like Hatfield/Head/Addison is ready for a chance to have a breakout season. Word on the street is he has the best hands of any receiver on the team (91 catch)

RS FR Dashaun Riggins (82 ovr) will be the #6 and provide depth in case anyone gets hurt. A former 4* from Salem OR (same high school GNK played at), Riggins will get his chane to shine.

5* Recruit Carl Chunn (81 ovr) and 4* Recruits Tye Tompkins (76) Issac Trapp (76) and Ben Magana (76) will all redshirt.

                      TIGHTEND

RS SO Ramon Barbosa (84 ovr) is a former Athlete who originally signed to play QB, but now finds himself the #1 TE following in the footsteps of TTU producing the last 3 Mackey Award winners. Barbosa listed at 6'5 212 lbs is a pure receiving TE who had 5 rec for 118 yds (23.6 avg) with 1 TD last season.

RS FR Dell Paxton (79 ovr) is a former 3* who redshirted last season. Like Barbosa, Paxton is potential redzone freak listed at 6'6 221lbs.

4* Recruit FR Donald Chancey (77 ovr) will redshirt this season..

                      O-LINE

This year's O-Line will look to replace 3 starters who graduated last year.

Former RT RS SR Larry Brooks( 90 ovr) moves over from the rightside to LT to protect Vildors blindside with the graduation of D. Myers.

RS SR Tyler Valdez (92 ovr) will start at LG well RS SR George Igwenagu (87 ovr) slides over to RG to start.

RS SR Nigel Session (88 ovr) returns as the team starting center well RS SR Ahmad Wooten (90 ovr) is back starting at RT after being replaced by John Todia last season.

With 5 Seniors in the starting lineup, most coaches would be worried but the Red Raiders have alot of talent waiting in the wings ready to take over.

RS JR Jason Clemens (88 ovr) is the primary backup at Tackle with RS SO Lamont Marvin (88 ovr) the primary backup at guard and RS FR Emeka Yeboha (83) or RS SO Fredrick Browning (83) ready to take over at Center.

TTU also has RS SR Dillion Virgin (85) and RS FR Devin Carraway (79) active as backup Tackles and RS FR Juan Kumah (84), RS SO BJ Morrissey (83) and RS FR Kona Hautau (83) as backup guards.

FR Kenya Sowells (80) and FR Nick Longoria (77) are future Tackles who are redshirting

FR Adrian Marshall (78), FR Melvin Watt (78) and FR Finau Aaitui (79) are all future guards redshirting.

                      Coach Scott
"Most coaches would be worried about having 5 Seniors starting, but honestly our 2nd unit is probably better then half the countries starters and the guy's we have redshirting could be starting for probably almost any non Power 4 team in the country. I feel pretty blessed with the depth we have built here"
                      D-LINE

Last year's D-line produced over 50 sacks and ranked in #3 in the nation. RS JR DT Enrqiue Nunn left a year early and ended up being a 1st Round pick, but the Top-3 sack artists return including RS SR Thad Leon (87 ovr). Leon a former 3* had a breakout season after not playing in any previous years. Leon won both the Best DE Award as well as the Lombardi as he finished the year with 13 TFL and 11.5 sacks.

RS JR Antwan Allgeirer (91 ovr) is a former 5* who flirted with the idea of going pro last year after posting back to back seasons with double digit sacks (10.5 and 13.5) well recording 118 Tackles including 21 TFL.

RS JR Kevin Zuber (90 ovr) is another former 3* who produced starter type #'s as a reserve last year with 10 sacks..

RS SR Brian Guillermo (87 ovr) provides excellent depth and will be ready to step in should any of the Top-3 get hurt for a extended amount of time.

5* Recruits Jesus Castillo (81 ovr) Calvin Dalton (81 ovr) and Kenyon Canady (81 ovr) and Alex Mathis (78 ovr) will all redshirt this season, and all 4 will battle with each other to take over future starting spots next season should
                      Zuber or Allgeier leave early.

Former 4* DE RS SR Faitele Gash (92 ovr) takes over as the starting DT. Gash like Zuber posted starter type #'s despite working as a reserve last year with 7.5 sacks with just 13 tackles.

RS JR "Q" Rozeboom (87) will be the primary backup at DT with converted DE RS FR Kyle DeMulling (84) as the #3

5* #1 Overall/#1 DT Gordon Teamer (81) is expected to redshirt and will push Rozeboom for the starting job next year. Fellow 5* Recruit FR Earl Turbin (81) will also Redshirt as well 4* FR Kona Okada (79), as they will look to provide excellent depth for the next 4 seasons.

                      LINEBACKERS

RS SR Manuel Vizcaino (92 ovr) is a former 3* who also plays with 1000% heart. "Viz" led the team last year with 88 Tackles with 7 TFL and 2 sacks, well defelecting 8 pass's and recording 1 Forced Fumble and 2 recovery's.

RS SO Gideon Abedo (93 ovr) beat out former 5* Recruit RS SO John Cushenberry (87 ovr) for the other starting job.

Abedo posted 67 Tackles with 8 TFL and 2 INT last year well also deflecting 5 pass's.

Cushenberry as the backup had 10 Tackles (8 solo) in a very limited role. He is expected to take over for Viz nexxt year.

RS SR Christian Cormier (85 ovr) is another former 3* who makes plays at MLB.. He has posted 81 Tackles with 2.5 Sacks, 1 INT and 5 pass deflections over the past 2 season's, when TTU goes with a 3-3-5 formation over the 3-2-6.

RS SO Deandre Eagles (82), RS FR Chester Rutter (82) and RS FR Cameron Elias (81) all provide depth at MLB and will push each other for Cormier's role next year.

RS FR Joshua Alli (82) and RS FR Angel Childs (78) provide excellent depth on the Outside and will take over the primary backup roles with Cushenberry moving to the starting lineup next year.

                      DEFENSIVE BACKS

RS SR John Baggett (94) returns for his Senior season after missing 5 weeks with a injury last season. Many thought the former 5* would follow in Matt Sorah's footsteps and leave a year early as he was projected as a 1st-2nd Round pick. Baggett has posted 128 tackles with 5 INT and 22 Pass Deflections over 3 seasons.

RS FR Teddy Beckford (87) is a former 5* recruit who is joining the starting lineup as CB2, with RS JR Jose Bias (85) staying in the slot role. Bias well starting for Bagget last season posed 36 tackles and had 3 INT well allowing just 6 catches allowed.

RS SR Ben Ricks (83) and RS FR Cesar Flores (80) provide solid depth allowing 5* Recruit FR Miguel Trevino (78) , 4* Recruit FR John Masifilo (77) and 3* Recruit FR Manuel Crespo (71) all a chance to redshirt.

Former 5* Stephon Freeland (84 ovr) returns for his Senior season. Freeland has 112 tackles and 3 INT with 10 Pass Defelctions and just 25 catches allowed over 3 seasons at Free Safety.

RS FR Javon Proche (82) and RS FR Bryce Kenyon (80) will be the primary backups at FS and will via for Freeland's starting role next year, well 4* Recruit FR Max Worthy (76) redshirts.

Former 3* Athlete/RB RS JR Ben Martini (86) converted to SS 2 years ago and last year saw plenty of action recording 53 Tackles with 2 INT and 9 pass deflections well allowing just 10 catches.

Former 4* RS SO Shawn Loudermilk (86) also saw plenty of action well TTU ran 6 DB set's recording 42 Tackles with 1 INT, and 5 Deflections but he did allow 15 cathces the most of any player on the unit.

RS SO Tyler Rios (83) provides excellent depth and plays on special teams.

                      SPECIAL TEAMS

RS SR Doug Khaled (85) returns as the teams primary FG kicker despite converting just 9/14 last year. (He was perfect inside 40 though)

RS FR Jimmy Chosen (69) will be active this season after redshirting last year and could push Khaled for a chance at longer FG's and will most likely serve as the kickoff specialist this year.

RS SR Eric Covington (80) has gotten better each year, posting a (44.3 avg and a 39.2 net avg) last season with a new career long of 64 yds.

                        TOP-25 PRESEASON POLL

                        #1 Texas Tech (93 Overall/92 Offense/94 Defense)
"Back to Back Championships and 3 titles in 5 years, TTU has dominated the college football landscape since the arrival of Coach Ryne Scott. Early season tests with #12 Ohio State on the road and #2 Oregon in a Natty rematch could end the Red Raiders 29 game winning streak but their is no reason not to think they are the favorites to win the Big 12 for a 5th straight year and make the playoffs in their 6th straight year.

                        #2 Oregon (91 Overall/91 Offense/91 Defense)
Last year's Natty Runner Up is once again a favorite for yet another playoff run. But how much more heartbreak can Phil Knight take.

                        #3 Washington (85 Overall/85 Offense/85 Defense)
Last year's Pac-12 Champ and #2 seed in the playoffs is back ready to challenge the Ducks and Broncos for another Pac-12 crown and another chance at the playoffs.

                        #4 Michigan (87 Overall/89 Offense/87 Defense)
Always a contender for the title, the Wolverines are ready at another run.

                        #5 Boise State (87 Overall/85 Offense/90 Defense)
The domination of the Pac-12 hasn't been there since Coach Scott left, but the Broncos are still one of the nation's best teams and have made the playoffs in 8 times (4 with Scott and 4 without)

                        #6 Miami (86 Overall/86 Offense/86 Defense)
The Hurricanes won the title in 2024, but since then have been only good at landing Top-5 Recruiting class's.

                        #7 Nebraska (91 Overall/91 Offense/92 Defense)
You know the Huskers have already circled their matchup with TTU as a must win this year.

                        #8 Kansas State (86 Overall/86 Offense/87 Defense)
The Wildcats have turned into a national power house typically ranked every year and challenging for a playoff spot..

                        #9 USC (90 Overall/90 Offense/90 Defense)
The Favorite to win the Pac-12 South, now the question is can they beat Oregon/Washington and BSU to actually win a title and make a run at the playoffs.

                        #10 Colorado (81 Overall/81 Offense/81 Defense)
The Buffs have a tough division with TCU, SMU, Nebraska and K-State. Will this be the year they manage to pull it off and make it to the Big 12 title game and a playoff spot?

                        #11 Oklahoma (89 Overall/89 Offense/89 Defense)
The Sooners have started in the Top-25 and almost Top-10 for the last 3 seasons but have struggle in rivalry games and TTU leading to typically a 3-4 loss season struggling to make the playoffs.

                        #12 Ohio State (90 Overall/90 Offense/90 Defense)
The Buckeyes won the Big 10 title game beating Michigan but then lost in Round 1 in a rematch game. Can OSU get back to being one of the nation's favorites to win a Natty?

                        #13 UCLA (83/82/84)
                        #14 Duke (81/81/81)

                        #16 Missouri (85/85/85)
                        #17 Georgia (89/89/90)
                        #18 Florida (87/87/87)
                        #19 James Madison (80/82/80)
                        #20 Louisville (85/84/86)
                        #21 Maryland (81/81/82)
                        #22 UNC (84/84/85)
                        #23 Tennessee (87/87/87)
                        #24 Arizona State (85/87/85)
                        #25 Appalachian State (84/84/84)

Receiving votes BYU (215) UAB (181), Florida State (146) Bowling Green (112) Louisiana (23).

BUCKEYES KNOCK OFF #1 RED RAIDERS!!!

Ohio State got it's revenge as they snap Texas Tech's 29 game winning streak knocking off the #1 ranked Red Raiders in Week 1 in front of a sold out crowd of 100,000+ screaming fans.

                          Coach Scott
"Ohio Stadium ranks #4 as the toughest place in the country to play and it showed tonight. We couldn't hear anything, and it showed. I have coached against some of the best teams in the country in front of some hostile crowds, but this crowd tonight brought their "A" game"
                          GAME RECAP

Both teams would go scoreless in the 1st Quarter, with TTU taking the lead (7-0) early in the 2nd as Freddie Vildor finds RS FR Craig Smythe for his first career catch and TD (23 yds), TTU then extended the lead to (14-0) as RB Sean Byham scores on a 9 yd run up the middle capping a 9 play drive, but after that it was all Ohio State.

The Buckeyes scored 21 unanswered to close out the 1st half taking a (21-14) lead as they pick off Vildor 3 times turning 2 INT's into "Pick 6's" including a 84 yd return by SR CB TJ Anders (86 ovr) and a 31 yd return by SR CB Byron Sankey (88 ovr).

The other INT inside the endzone to stop a TTU score would setup a 42 yd TD run by SO RB Keke Law (85 ovr) to close out the half with just 12 seconds to play.

Trailing (21-14), TTU opened up the 2nd half with the ball but had to settle for a Doug Khaled (43 yd) FG to make it (21-17).

Ohio State would extend the lead to (24-17) as SR PK G. Thurber (80 ovr) nails a 33 yd FG early in the 4th, and then after another Vidor INT, SR GB Gabriel Grissom (88 ovr) finds his big TE SO Larry Trash on a 8 yd strike to extend the lead to (31-17) with under 4 minutes to play.

Texas Tech would get the ball back twice in the final 4 minutes but their first drive resulted in a turnover on downs, as Vildor's pass on 4th and 10 is broken up and then with less then a minute to play, Vildor would throw INT #5 in the endzone for a 2nd time on the day as Sankey comes away with his 2nd INT.

                          FINAL SCORE #12 OHIO STATE-31 #1 TEXAS TECH-17

4TH QUARTER COMEBACK KEEPS TTU FROM 0-2 START!!

After watching #1 Texas Tech fall to #12 Ohio State, #2 Oregon came with a completely different mindset then just revenge. They were looking for something more and they almost pulled it off.

Tied (7-7) at the end of the 1st Quarter, both teams continued to struggle on offense throughout the half as TTU manages to score with 22 seconds to play in the half as Vildor finds TE Ramon Barbosa on a 14 yd strike to make it (14-7).

Oregon though answers back on the opening drive of the 2nd half as QB Tyrone Russ (88 ovr) hits his SO TE Thad McClover (85 ovr) on a 13 yd pass to tie the game (14-14).

Stilled tied when we entered the 4th, TTU retakes the lead on a 31 yd TD run by Morton to make it (21-14), Oregon already with 1 missed FG on the day must settle for another attempt as the Red Raider "D" steps up but this time SO PK Rico Duggan (67 ovr) kick is good from 46 yds as Oregon cuts the lead to (21-17).

Then it was the Duck D stepping up forcing a Punt with less then 3 minutes to play in the game and then it was JR RB Jimmy Wood (87 ovr) coming up with a huge 37 yd TD run to make it (23-21) with 1:21 to play. Oregon however would make a interesting call as they leave the Offense on the field trying to convert the 2pt play but TTU was ready as they stop Wood in the backfield leaving it just a 2 point game.

Needing just a FG to win, Coach Scott knew he didn't need to take any chances and remind Vildor to just play smart and he listened, as he completes 5/5 pass's on final drive including a nice 28 yd strike to Smythe to setup a 5 yd TD by Morton leaving just 17 seconds to play to make it (28-23).

Oregon needed a miracle but didn't find one as Russ's final pass of the game is picked of Jose Bias...

5INTs on the day and it was still just a 2 score game. If both of those pick-sixs don't happen makes you wonder if you'd have been able to mount a drive.

Nice bounce back from Vildor and the Raiders against the Ducks. He might not have put up huge stats against Oregon, but no interceptions is a step in the right direction

2 Pick 6's and 2 others actually in the endzone, so yeah for sure a different ball game. I don't know why i struggle so much when I play Top-25 teams with Top-25 rated stadiums. Ohio Stadium is ranked as #4 hardest stadium to play in and it showed.
