You may have just relegated Indiana to the MAC after that beatdown lol

Glad to see FIU is still holding up their end on the Natty rematch

I am actually considering bumping Indiana to the American, but then have to decide if I am bumping Purdue back to the Big Ten.. The Boilermakers have done really well in the American making the playoffs 3 times, so well their resume says they deserve the Big Ten they might have a easier time making the playoffs if they stay where they are.. Kentucky is the same way. They have done well in CUSA winning and making the playoffs 3 times but if they were to move back to the SEC they would probably end up a doormat. Oklahoma is a team that needs a chance of scenery.. They havn't done anything in the SEC since the start of my dynasty, so I am probably going to move them back to the Big 12 but need to decide if I am going to move a Texas team to the SEC to replace them or I could look at a FIU/Miami move to the SEC and then maybe bump Kentucky and Charlotte to the ACC.

Another option for Indiana in the Big Ten could be moving Utah out of the Big 12 being how I still have West Coast teams (Oregon/Washington/USC) which would open that spot in the Big 12 for Oklahoma..

I am not loving my Pac-12/16 right now. UCF and USF have both sucked and could move to the ACC just to get a fresh start.

I might leave it for 1 more year and then do a major swap in 2035 cause that will be officially 10 years of my Dynasty..

        PAWS UP PODCAST

Good evening and welcome to "Paws Up" A FIU Panther Podcast where we talk Panthers football.. I am your host Jake Gibson and tonight we are joined by FIU Panther HC Barry Valdez (Luke Fickell)

JG- Coach first let me say congrats on the season you are having your 9-0 Overall and 7-0 in ACC play.. As it sits now you are the favorite to win your final 3 games of the season and play for another ACC title in just your 2nd year at the helm..

BV- Thanks for having me Jake. Yeah we are feeling pretty good about this year.. We knew once we got the "W" over Miami that we really liked our chances at 12-0 and getting that win hopefully will give us come confidence going into the ACC Championship game that we can get it done again.

JG-Coach I want to start with a little about your background. I don't think all of are listeners/followers are aware of history not just as a Coach but also as a player.. You played Nose Guard at Ohio State, you played next to the great Dan Wilkerson and you started on the 1997 Rose Bowl team and after a injury cut your NFL career short, you went back to Ohio State as a grad assistant in 1999 before become the DL line coach at Akron in 2000.. You then went back in 2002 and served as the Special Teams Coordinator for Coach Tressel and over the next 16 years served in multiple positions with the school including the interm Heach Coach during the 2011 season. You guy's went (6-6) and despite being offered the HC job you turned it down and the school hired Urban Myer but you stayed on staff until 2017 when you were announced as the HC at Cincinnati. After a 4-8 season with the Bearcats you then led Cincy to back to back 11 win seasons in 2018 and 2019. In 2021 you led the Bearcats to a undefeated 13-0 season winning the Paul Bear Bryant Coach of the Year but ended up losing to Coach Saban and the Tide in the in the Cotton Bowl.

In 2022 you became the Head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers but in 2024 you guy's went just 5-7 snapping Wisconsin's 22 year bowl streak and were let go. In 2025 you became the Head Coach at Kentucky 2 years ago you led Kentucky to the National Championship before losing to Virginia Tech.. With Coach Miller taking the HC at your Alma Mater you left Kentucky and came to FIU and in Year 1 led the Panthers back to the National Championship only to lose to Coach Miller and the Buckeyes.. How did that make you feel playing the school where you were a player and a coach?

BV- I think it was weird for both me and Coach Miller.. There were alot of mixed feelings in that game for sure. But you know I love FIU, I love coaching in Miami.. My family loves it here too. I got to be honest I don't miss those cold sidelines in Wisconsin in late October/November.

JG-Coach you have had alot of success in your career.. You are currently among the favorites to win another Coach of the Year award.. Do you view FIU as a long term stop for you or is it your hope to get back to a job in the Big Ten or even the SEC?

BV-You know Jake alot of people think that coaching in the SEC or Big Ten is every coaches dream.. But the truth is there can only 1 SEC/Big Ten Champ and just because you play in those conferences doesn't mean your chances of making the playoffs or winning a National Championship increase. In fact I would almost argue and say it makes it harder. FIU has gone to 7 straight playoff, won 2 National Championship and played for a 3rd. The first Natty was won as a member of CUSA. #2 was won as a member of the ACC.. I know there has been some rumors of the SEC trying to bring both us and Miami into the mix, but let me ask you. How many Championships has Clemson, South Carolina or Florida State played for as SEC members. How long has it been since Florida has played for a title.. How many playoffs has Oklahoma and Texas made since making the move.. I honestly think that FIU is in a great spot right now and it's a place I want to be for along time, but I think Coach Miller can agree, sometimes when the right school comes calling you got to leave a good thing.. Even if that good thing is actually great.

JC-Coach you are not wrong.. The Panthers have the best record in all of college football over the past 6 years. (96-16) not counting your 9 wins this season and at this point it's pretty safe to say your going to making it 8 straight years in the playoffs and most likely a Top-seed as well.

JC-Coach despite your success on the field this season, recruiting had been pretty slow for the first 10 weeks of the season but this past week the flood gates have opened.. We are hearing reports that you guy's have secured 8 commitments including some pretty high profile players. 247 Recruiting currently has the class rated #19 Overall and #4 in the ACC.. I wanted to talk about 1 player in particular because we are being told you landed Tyler Bail the #1 Overall Player in this year's class, North Carolina's Gatorade POY and the best part is you signed him away from Ohio State before he made his official visit to Columbus..

BV-It is true. It's actually a Funny story because we actually had Tyler scheduled to come here to Miami this week for our matchup with Virginia, so now instead of being on the sidelines as a potential teammate, he will be here to hopefully celebrate with us as we go for our 10th win of the year.. Here is a list of the 8 guy's we got confirmed so far, but I will tell you Jake I think the next 3 weeks are going to be huge I really feel like we could double this class and go into the offseason with 16-20 guy's committed and ready to be apart of keeping FIU in the National Title hunt for the next 4 years.

        5* ATH Tyler Bail (#1 OVR/#1 NC/#1 ATH)- 6'6 260 lbs
"Projected as a TE. 82 Catch in Traffic, 84 Catch, 86 ACC, 89 Agility"

        5* SS Mitch Finger (#4 OVR/#1 TN/#1 SS)-6'2 221lbs

        4* ATH/LB/FS Josh Okorafor (#48 OVR/#2IA/#2 ATH) 5'11 231lbs
        "83 Tackle, 88 Speed, 89 AGL, 89 ACC, 77 Zone Coverage"

        4* MLB Isaiah Stroud (#56 OVR/#4 LA/#3 MLB) 6'0 227lbs

        4* ATH/QB Akeem Armah (#62 OVR/#1CT/#5ATH) 6'0 203lbs
        "91 THP, 87 SA, 82 MA, 87 SPD, 96 ACC)

        4* DT Jason Avant (#64 OVR/#3 IN/#3 DT) 6'2 292lbs

        4* FS John Poujade (#75 OVR/#11 FL/#5 FS) 6'0 199lbs

        4* WR James Sills (#87 OVR/#15 FL/#11 WR) 6'1 194lbs

JG-Coach looks like a nice well rounded class so far. We have heard rumors you guy's are still fighting for 5* WR Alexander Weir (#13 OVR/#2 FL/#2 WR). I know he visited FIU back in Week 8 but he took a visit this past week with the Hurricanes and rumor is he has move them to #1 on his list.. What can you tell us?

BV-It's true. Both Coach Dees and I have called him multiple time, hard selling him on the things that are important to him, but sadly most of the things that we offer him, Miami can too.. Right now our hope is the connections we have made with his friends and family as well as DM messages we have sent him will hopefully get us back to #1 but I know V.T. Florida State and Florida have all offered and from what we have been told he has cut his list to 3 and its Miami, FIU and V.T. in that order.. I know V.T. has him scheduled for a Week 14 visit.. We were really hoping by getting him here early we could get him signed before he took those other visits."

JG-Coach we are starting to run low on time but I wanted to talk real quick.. Right now you have both K.P and Emari Boenzi both in discussions around the Heisman.. How do you as a Coach and as a school try and support both players.. Do you think there is a possibility that each player could pull votes away from each other that could help someone like Legend Coffee become a 2 time winner or someone like Trey Silvestro (Purdue) win?

BV- It's pretty tough to win as a WR because for the most part the same stats you are getting the QB is getting too. "Boz" is a unique talent and so we have worked him into the run game, but K.P. is also one of the best dual threat QB's in the nation so he is getting rushing stats too. The fact that "Boz" right now is the only WR on the list with 4 other QB's I think helps him stand out more because I think at the end of the day people could have a hard time deciding exactly which QB is better, but right now the only way we support them is by myself and Coach Dee's putting them into situations where they can make plays and help us win ball games.

JG- Alright coach, well best of luck to you the rest of the season. Hopefully we can have you back on the show soon.

BV- Sound good. I would love it.

          GAME RECAP

Virginia started the year in the Top-25 and had goals of making a run at the playoffs but the Cavalieres season has not gone as planned as they entered the game with a (3-6) record.

The would keep things close in the 1st Quarter (7-7). The Defense came up big picking off Kevin Pounds twice in the 2nd Quarter but both times would have to settle for FG's to cut the lead leaving it (17-13) with :36 seconds to play.. FIU facing a 4th and 2 with just 2 seconds on the clock would line up in a 5 WR spread, as Pounds looked to see if he could create some magic.. KP rolled out of the pocket and got the DB to bite as he breaks off from RS FR Devin Kennedy and Pounds would fire a floater over the head of the defender and into the arms of D.K. who takes it 55 yds to the house for the time expiring score to give FIU a (24-13) lead at the half.

FIU opened up the 2nd half with the ball and Pounds quickly found RS SO Ian Kamaula for his 2nd TD of the day as FIU extends the lead to (31-13)..

Then it was the FIU Defense coming up big as JR FB Gerald Sykes comes up with his 2nd INT of the day on Virginia SR QB Greg Niemann (81) to set up a Trevor Costanzo FG to make it (34-13) with 2:30 to play in the 3rd.

The Virginia Defense doubled and tripled teamed Emari Boenzi all day, but despite that KP would still try and get the ball to his favorite WR and best friend but the play backfired as Pounds throws his 3rd INT of the day this time to SR CB Nick Traore who takes it back 54 yds to the house for the "Pick 6" as the Cav's make it (34-21).

FIU however would waste no time extending their lead back to 3 scores as True Freshman Major Mentor takes the kick return 96 yds to paydirt showing off elite speed in the process to make it (41-21) as we head to the 4th.

Virginia opened up the 4th Quarter with Niemann finding his SR TE Bo Thompson for his 2nd TD of the day to make it (41-28), but FIU answers back as Taylor Coxie scores the first of 2 4th quarter TD runs making it (48-28).

Virginia fires right back as Niemann hits SR WR Glenn Worthy (80) on a 69 yd bomb to cut the lead back to 2 scores (48-28) with 3:55 to play

The Cav's would attempt the onside kick but the Panthers hands team was ready. FIU would stick to the ground game and their 4 minute offense as they looked to erase valuable time off the clock and it worked as Coxie scores on a 18 yd TD run to make it (55-28) with 2:25 to play.

Virginia never gave up though as Niemann kept firing but with less then a minute to play Major Mentor comes up with his 2nd big play of the game as Niemann throws his 3rd INT of the game and Mentor almost takes it to the house for a "pick 6" but he is called out after a 52 yd return.. FIU would elect to just run out the clock.

Niemann finished 26/41 (63%) for 290 yds with 3 TD and 3 INT, he also added 53 yds on 6 carries.

          KEY PANTHERS

          QB K. Pounds-19/35 (54%) 332 yds 3 TD 3 INT, sacked twice, 5 carries 47 yds

          RB T. Coxie-22 carries 156 yds 2 TD
          RB T. Trinidad-10 carries 50 yds 1 TD
          RB M. Ware-5 carries 30 yds
FB A. Higgins-2 carries 30 yds (both 4th down runs)

          WR E. Boenzi-2 rec 36 yds

          CB G. Sykes-2 INT
          CB M. Mentor 1 INT, 4 KR 154 yds 1 TD (96 long)

          UP NEXT

FIU moves to (10-0) Overall and (8-0) in ACC play with 2 games to play both at home. First they will take on #21 (6-3) Georgia Tech in Week 12 before closing out the regular season in Week 13 vs (5-4) Rutgers on "Senior Day"

**I don't know yet if they move up in the rankings, cause I havn't played my Week 11 Ohio State game.. Also I do plan on playing both of my final 2 games of the season with FIU.. G.T. has played me pretty tough and with them ranked I am hoping for a good game. With Rutgers I just want a chance to play the 10 Seniors final home game.. I feel bad I havn't played more games this year, cause Coxie has gotten lost in the throwing attack of the CPU sim.. He is actually a really solid RB. He still has a legit shot at a 1000 yd season but I am not sure if he will beat out Dave Jones for the Doak Walker or not. **

            GAME RECAP

**I played this before bed and didn't take time to write down the scoring summary but here is a brief recap of what happened.*

Wisconsin opened up the game with the ball and would settle for a FG after their drive stalled.

Ohio State scored 3 straight as Ledford connects on a pair of touchdowns to SR WR Terron Pappoe and then after JR QB Sean Cole (81) throws a INT to SO CB Frank Pounds, Ledford extends the lead to (21-3) with a 17 yd strike to Gill Alexander..

Cole would bounce back from his earlier INT by hitting SR WR Caleb Chosen (84) on a 47 yd TD to close out the half (21-10).

Ohio State opened up with the ball in the 2nd half and Ledford showed off his running abilities with a 50 yd touchdown run to extend the lead to (28-10).

Ohio State would latter add on a Monty Carty FG to make it (31-10) going into the 4th.

OSU would extend the lead to (34-10) on another Carty FG but Wisconsin answers back as Cole hits SR WR Lyle Madu (87) on a 78 yd bomb to make it (34-17)

OSU sticking with their ground game would look to take some time off the clock but True Freshman Cameron McCracken had a different plan as he busts off a 37 yd touchdown run to extend the lead to (41-17).

Cole looking to try and strike twice would try and hit Madu down the sideline for another big score but JR CB Faitele Nauta was ready as he picks off Cole..

Ohio State would then run out the clock.

Cole finished 15/26 (57%) for 227 yds with the 2 TD and 2 INT. He was sacked 3 times.

            KEY BUCKS

            QB D. Ledford-18/26 (69%) 203 yds 3 TD, 7 carries 64 yds 1 TD
            RB C. McCracken-11 carries 63 yds 1 TD

            UP NEXT

With the win Ohio State moves to (9-1) Overall and (7-1) in Big Ten play with 2 games to play.

#1 Georgia fell this week to Texas (I will have more about it in the Weekly Top-25 recap) which opened the door for OSU to move to #1 with FIU jumping to #2.

Ohio State will close out it's season with 2 rivalry matchups. First they will host Illinois in Week 12 before hosting Michigan in Week 13.

The Illini are (1-9) on the season. So similar to last year this is their biggest game of the year.

              WEEK 11 TOP-25 RECAP

#1 Georgia lost to Texas (38-24) to drop to (9-1) Overall and with it dropped to #6 in the last CFP Rankings. The Bulldogs will travel to South Carolina in Week 12.

#4 Miami falling to Wake Forest (26-23) was the upset of the season so far.. With the loss the Hurricanes are now (8-2) overall and have picked up their 2nd ACC loss tying them with Virginia Tech and NC State putting a chance at a rematch with FIU in the ACC Championship at risk.. The Conference Championship isn't the only thing at risk though because with the loss they also drop to #12 in the rankings putting them on the wrong side of bubble in the latest CFP Projection. The Hurricanes will host NC State in Week 12.. The loser will be out of any ACC Championship discussion.

#5 (9-1) LSU moves up to #3 after having Week 11 off.. The Tigers return to action as they will take on Tennessee on the road in Week 12.

We saw 3 more Top-10 teams fall in Week 11.. #6 Kansas State lost (34-10) to Arizona State dropping to #18 in the rankings, #7 Kentucky's playoff dreams are probably over as they fall (35-24) to Western Kentucky dropping to #21 in the rankings, well #8 Utah fell (35-24) to SMU dropping to #17.

With all the Top loss's we saw several teams make big jumps in the rankings and help solidify their chances at a seat at the playoff table.

#9 (8-2) Oregon jumps 4 spots to #4 this week with a (29-14) win @ Illinois.. The Ducks will host Wisconsin in Week 12.

#10 (8-2) Purdue jumps to #5 with a (27-13) win over Temple. The Boilermakers will take on #25 Boston College in Week 12.

#11 (8-3) Clemson moves to #7 with a (35-25) win over Texas A&M. The Tigers will have a "Bye" in Week 12.

#14 (8-2) Washington jumps to #8 with a (55-10) win over Indiana The Huskies will host Minnesota in Week 12

#12 (8-2) Tulane joins the Top-10 at #9 with a (27-20) win over Louisiana. The Green Wave will take on #16 Colorado in Boulder with a potential Pac-12 Championship spot on the line.

#13 Boston College saw their playoff dreams go down the drain with a (24-21) loss to Northern Illinois as they drop to #25 in the rankings. At (8-2) a win over #5 Purdue this week could at least keep the American Conference Championship hopes alive and maybe with some help they can climb back but I doubt it.

#17 (8-2) Nebraska jumps 7 spots to #10 with a (31-13) win over Stanford. The Cornhuskers will take on #19 Notre Dame in South Bend in Week 12.

#15 Michigan moves to #11 with a (31-17) win over Michigan State. Michigan will play @ Pitt in Week 12 before finishing their season @ Ohio State

#15 Virginia Tech is now #13 after a (41-7) win over Liberty. They will take on Rutgers in Week 12.

#19 (8-2) Alabama is keeping slim SEC Championship hopes and playoff hopes alive with a (51-13) win over South Carolina. They will play @ #20 Oklahoma in Week 12.

Boise State has rejoined the Top-25 at #23 with a (40-14) win over Cal.. The Broncos are now (7-3) on the year.. They will play @ Vanderbilt in Week 12, with a spot in the Pac-12 title game still in play.

              THE NEW PLAYOFF PROJECTION

#1 Ohio State playing the winner of #8 Washington vs #9 Tulane

#2 FIU playing the winner of #7 Clemson vs #10 Nebraska

#3 Purdue playing the winner of #6 Oregon vs #11 Michigan

#4 Georgia playing the winner of #5 LSU vs #12 Colorado.

                GAME RECAP

Total Domination on both sides of the ball.. For a 2nd year in a row, Illinois will finish with 10 or more loss's opening up the discussion of them leaving the Big Ten like Northwestern and Purdue did to try and find some success in the American..

Ohio State dominated the first half picking off Illinois JR QB Lee Dukes twice as the Buckeyes take a commanding (38-0) lead into the half getting 4 rushing touchdowns on including 2 by RS FR Fredrick Tam and 1 by QB David Ledford.

For Tam it was his 13th and 14th rushing TD of the season.. For Ledford it was his 4th and his 2nd straight game with a rushing score.

JR Dave Jones added the other late in the 2nd Quarter as the 1st half comes to a close.. For Jones it was his 11th of the season..

Ohio State continued to add to their lead and continued their shutout as they knock Dukes out of the game. The Buckeyes didn't just dominate on offense and defense though as RS Sophomore Jason Bulaga returns a punt 65 yds to the house to give OSU a (52-0) lead going into the 4th.

Illinois would settle for a FG to open up the 4th Quarter just happy to erase the shutout, but Ohio State wasn't done.. Ledford still in the game would bomb a 72 yd touchdown to Nick Tull to increase the lead to (59-3) and then with 1:15 to play RS FR Abdul Diabate making his 2nd appearance of the season would throw in first career TD pass hitting Gill Alexander on a 16 yd score to close out the game.

Lee Dukes finished the game 12/22 (54%) for 93 yds and 2 INT well backup QB SR Tony Bigby finished the game 7/12 (58%) for 41 yds.. Both QB's were sacked 3 times each.

                        GAME RECAP

For Michigan this was more then just "The Game" Upset that they had to make the trip to Columbus 2 years in a row there was already some added fuel to this heated rivalry, but with a potential playoff spot on the line as well Michigan had all the Bulletin Board material they needed to come in fired up and it showed in the 1st half.

The Wolverines came out firing as the as SR QB Trey Heeney (76) hits JR WR Johnny McNair (76) on a 55 yd TD (I still can't believe that Michigan's starting QB is only a 76 overall).

OSU would settle for a 46 yd FG as Michigan shuts down the Buckeye ground attack making it (7-3).

The 2nd Quarter will be something JR QB Dave Ledford would like to forget about. After OSU took the lead just 3 seconds into the quarter with a F. Tam
5yd TD run to make it (10-7) Ledford would throw 3 INT's including a "Pick 6" that goes 49 yds to the house to give Michigan a (21-10) lead at the half. The only saving grace was that the Ohio State Defense came up huge holding Michigan to a FG attempt after 1 of the INT's (they missed) and then the 3rd was a bomb to Alexander with 12 seconds to play as the Buckeyes tried to cut into the lead before the half ended.

Ohio State opened up the 2nd half with the ball but to the surprise of pretty much everyone in attendance, it was Redshirt Sophomore Vince Redziniak making his return to QB as he replaces the struggling Ledford.

Redziniak made his presence felt right away completing his first 3 pass attempts as Ohio State rolled out a 14 play drive that took up 3 1/2 minutes ending with a 3 yd fun by JR RB Dave Jones to make it (21-16). Down by 5, Coach Miller would leave the offense on the field and attempt the 2pt play to make it a 3pt game but the Wolverine Defense makes the stop.

The Buckeye Defense came out motivated in the 2nd half though as they continued to put pressure on Heeney and doubled down with completely shutting down the the Wolverine running game all together.

After forcing Michigan to punt for a 4th time in the game, the Buckeyes would once again grind out the clock content with 3 yds a carry on 1st and 2nd down well completing short pass's for 1st downs along the way and with 1:57 to play, Ohio State retakes the lead as Fredrick Tam scores his 16th rushing TD of the season to make it (22-21). Again Miller would lead the offense on the field for the 2pt play and this time Redziniak hits Tuell for the conversion to make it a 3pt game (24-21).

Well the run game not working, Michigan was forced to pretty much throw on every down and the Buckeye D finally make Heeney pay as OLB Rick Hendricks comes up with a huge INT.. After opening the drive with a couple runs, Redziniaks 3rd down pass was dropped forcing the Buckeyes to settle for a Carty 23 yd FG to make it (27-21).

Down by 6, Michigan had a chance to retake the lead, but the Wolverines drive stalls out and facing a 4th and 4, with 6:04 to play in the game Michigan makes a interesting call to punt rather then try for the 1st down.

Ohio State not looking to take any risks, went into their 4 minute offense as they looked to try and take as much time off the clock before trying to add to their lead..

The plan worked to perfect as OSU uses a 13 play drive capped by a 1 yd TD run by Dave Jones extending their lead to 12 points with just 1:54 to play. Ball game was over....

Heeney finished the day 17/25 (68%) for 189 yds with 1 TD and 1 INT.
RB T. Henderson had the 1 24 yd TD run but other then that M. Davenport led the Wolverines with 10 carries for 17 yds (1.7 avg). McNair finished with 4 rec for 87 yds and the TD.

                        KEY BUCKS

                        QB D. Ledford-9/22 (40%) 142 yds 3 INT
                        QB V. Redziniak-11/21 (52%) 161 yds

                        RB D. Jones 30 carries 105 yds (3.5 avg) 2 TD
                        RB F. Tam 14 carries 60 yds 2 TD

                        WR T. Pappoe-8 rec 125 yds
                        WR G. Alexander-7 rec 101 yds
                        WR N. Tull-5 rec 77 yds

                        UP NEXT

Ohio State moves to (11-1) on the season and (9-1) in Big Ten play.. They secure a spot in the Big Ten Championship but will have to wait and see who their opponent is after the Week 13 results come in.

                        INJURY UPDATE

OSU got hit hard again with injuries. True Freshman DE Cortez Sumner is out for the next 4 weeks (most likely the season) with a Broken Wrist as is True Freshman RB Camerson McCracken as he will mist 4 weeks with a Ruptured Disk.

With a Week 15 Bye and the Bye during the 1st Round, there is actually a pretty decent chance both players could play in the Semi Finals and Natty if the Buckeyes make it that far.

OSU still has 10 players on the IR.

                          GAME RECAP

For at least the 10 Panther Seniors, it would be their last home game at Pitbull Stadium and they made sure they were going to go out winners as FIU uses a huge 2nd half to rally scoring 35 unanswered points as FIU Defense pitches a shutout..

FIU dominated the 1st Quarter taking a (21-3) lead as Kevin Pounds connects with Emari Boenzi on a pair of touchdowns and former WR turned SS Tyreke Harmon shows off his receiving skills with a "Pick 6" INT return.

But the Pounds to Boenzi connection would grow cold in the 2nd Quarter as the Scarlet Knights disguised double and triple teams on the star WR allowing their defense to come up with 2 huge INT's allowing Rutgers to take the (24-21) lead with 1:33 to play in the half as SR QB Coco Skaggs (83) connects on a 72 yd bomb to RS FR Jalen Cantu (73)..

Pounds would rebound from his early 2 INT's to at least drive FIU into Field Goal range with 4 seconds to play in the half and True Freshman Trevor Costanzo knocks down a 38 yd FG to tie the game (24-24).

FIU would open the 2nd half with the ball as Senior RB Taylor Coxie would score the first of (2) 2nd half touchdowns on the day..

For Coxie the Oklahoma transfer, Senior Day at FIU wasn't as meaningful as it was for SR TE Ahmad Vilain who would catch a 3rd Quarter touchdown, but for Coxie his 200 yd performance was a a big deal as he continues to battle with Ohio State's Dave Jones for a chance to bring home the Doak Walker Award..

Coxie wasn't the only Panther RB to have a big day as RS SO Tim Trinidad also goes over 100 yds on the day finishing with 115 on 14 carries (8.2 avg) well also scoring a 4th Quarter TD.

Rutgers Coco Skaggs finished the game 12/31 (38%) for 264 yds with 2 TD and 1 INT in the loss.

#3 Oregon fell (38-16) to Penn State and with the loss drops to #10 in the rankings and also loses their spot in the Big Ten Championship game as Ohio State will now take on a different opponent.

#4 Georgia moves up to #3 with a (31-24) win over Georgia Tech.

#5 Purdue moves to #4 with a (21-17) win over Indiana

#8 Nebraska falls (21-17) to Iowa dropping to #14 in the rankings, but the loss is a out of conference loss, which means Nebraska actually holds on to claim the #2 spot in the Big Ten Standings and will get a chance at a rematch with the Buckeyes for the Big Ten title.

#9 Miami defeats Syracuse (35-14) to secure the #2 spot in the ACC Standings and the Canes move to #6 in the rankings this week as they will now prepare for a chance to upset #2 FIU and potentially claim a Top-4 seed in the playoffs.

#10 Michigan gets absolutely hosed in the rankings as they drop completely out of the Top-25 with their loss.

#13 LSU jumps 6 spots to #7 with a (28-17) win over Florida

                            BIG TEN

                            #1 (11-1) Ohio State vs #14 (9-3) Nebraska
"It's simple a Buckeye win and they are the #1 seed in the playoffs.. A Cornhusker win and they are in the playoffs most likely, but a loss and they are out"

                            ACC

                            #2 (12-0) FIU vs #6 (10-2) Miami FL
"The Panthers vs the Cane's.. Will FIU stay perfect and claim the #2 seed, or will the Canes get their revenge from the regular season loss and claim a Top-4 seed most likely sending FIU to the #5 seed and a 1st round playoff appearance"

                            SEC

                            #3 (11-1) Georgia vs #7 (10-2) LSU
"A similar story.. A win by the Bulldogs and they secure a Top-4 seed. A win by LSU and they most likely get the Top-4 seed. Either way both teams are making the playoffs"

                            AMERICAN

                            #4 (10-2) Purdue vs (9-3) Buffalo.
"Purdue is playing for a 1st Round Bye and Top-4 seed. I think even with a loss they wouldn't drop out of the Top-12.. For the Bull's this is just about pride. They are going Bowling not matter what. But finishing in the Top-25 would be a nice boost for the program."

                            BIG 12

                            #16 (9-3) Kansas State vs #22 (9-3) BYU.

I don't think K-State gets in with a win. So this is probably bigger then any Bowl game either of these 2 teams will play.

                            PAC-12

                            #11 (11-1) Colorado vs #17 (9-3) Boise State..
"Colorado is playing for a playoff spot.. Not sure the Broncos would jump into the Top-12 with a win, but a Pac-12 title would be huge for the program either way.

                            CUSA

                            #15 (10-2) Marshall vs #21 (9-3) Kentucky

The Herd have a slim shot at the playoffs, the Wildcats don't. But winning a 3rd straight CUSA title would be a nice feather in their season's cap.

                            SUNBELT

                            #23 (10-2) Jacksonville State vs (9-3) Troy.
"No chance for either team to make the playoffs, but a win gives either team their best season in probably the past 8 years, so it's worth trying to win.

                            MOUNTAIN WEST

                            (9-3) UTSA vs (8-4) Wyoming.
"Bragging rights and a chance to win 10 games for UTSA"

                            MAC

(8-4) Western Michigan vs (7-5) Miami OH
"WMU has never won a MAC title during this Dynasty so this would be a huge win for the program".

                            PROJECTED PLAYOFFS

As it sit's right now here is the projections.

#1 Ohio State vs Winner of #8 Virginia Tech and #9 TCU

#2 FIU vs Winner of #7 LSU vs #10 Oregon

#3 Georgia vs Winner of #6 Miami vs #11 Colorado

#4 Purdue vs Winner of #5 Clemson vs #12 Oklahoma.

I like the Buckeyes side of the bracket. I think they would have a pretty legit shot at a getting back to the Natty.

FIU however gets stuck with a tough matchup in Round 2 facing either Oregon or LSU and then having to get by potentially Miami or Georgia in the Semi's would be tough.

                            HEISMAN WATCH

Clemson SR QB Casey Vaugh has overtaken the #1 spot in the Heisman Talk as well as the #1 spot in the Maxwell and the #1 spot in the Davey O'Brien and Johnny U Award give to Best SR QB.

FIU RS JR WR Emari Boenzi is currently #2 with Purdue RS SR QB Trey Silvestro #3..

FIU RS SO QB Kevin Pounds is #4 well LSU JR QB Juan Cardoza is #5.

Whats your injury setting at and is it even turned on
When i started this Dynasty I didn't want injuries to play a factor for the 2024 season cause I was trying to force wins so the playoffs and records would reflect who made the playoffs IRL, so turned injuries off.

I could figure out why I had no injuries in 2025 and then realized that it was still turned off. Typically I get 4-5 in a season but this is unreal. And it's not just the amount of them but also how long. Tandy's injury from last season carried over to the point od him missing the entire year. Now I got my DE who goes down and is suppose to miss 22 weeks which means his will carry over as well
