Hawk is Miller's Ride or Die right now.. It's interesting because Hawk is a 86 Overall McCrae is a 83 and Pounds is a 81.. When I simmed ahead staying at FIU just to see who might transfer, what my class might look like I actually went past the Training bump and Hawk actually jumped to a 95 well McRae went to a 85 and Pounds to a 83. He does have over 4000 yds passing and 40 TD's it's just the 23 INT's have come at a really bad time in the game.

To be fair, I did play in my fair share of Rose Bowls with my USC dynasty, BUT I stand with Coach Miller, this is BS.
Hawk has a little Clayton Dees in him. Dees had the same thing happen.. He lost his job, but came in and won us our 1st Natty then struggled the next year with Wire having to take over.

Even though Miami lost, I am still in protest.

        GAME RECAP

Virginia Tech had been talking all week posting plenty of white board material claiming they should've been in the ACC Championship and believing they were the better team and they backed up that talk tonight.

V.T. came out firing on all cylinders as JR QB Tye Fair (82) hits SO WR Jeremiah Skuta (90) on a 56 yd touchdown just 4 plays into the game to put the Hokies up (7-0) Then it was FR CB Sal Schlesinger (83) coming up with a huge play picking off Hawkins to set up a 16 yd touchdown run by SR RB Amani Kilgo (88) as Virginia Tech goes up up (14-0) in the first minute and half of the game.

Already trailing (14-0) FIU was forced to punt on their 2nd series and V.T. went right back to work as Fair leads a 9 play drive complete with a 24 yd TD throw to FR Manny Doyle (80) to make it (21-0) still with over 5 minutes to play in the 1st Quarter.

V.T. would expend the lead to (28-0) early in the 2nd Quarter as Fair hits Doyle for a 2nd touchdown before FIU would finally get on the scoreboard as Hawkins hits TE Earl Godwin for a 22 yd score to make it (28-7) with 4 minutes to play in the half.

V.T. and Fair wasn't done though as the JR QB throws his 4th TD of the half hitting JR TE Caleb Henderson (77) to make it (35-7) at the half.

There was a feeling on the sidelines that something was just different as FIU came out of the looker room... Could they make a unbelievable comeback run or was this the end of the Matt Miller era at FIU... The Panthers would use 9 plays including a 14 yd TD strike from Hawkins to RS FR Walter Abiamir to cut the lead to (35-14).. The FIU Defense then came up with a huge stop getting the ball back to Hawkins and the offense which marched down the field to set up a 1st and Goal before Cantwell is stopped short of the goal line on back to back runs, Hawkins takes the 3rd down pass and try's to hit Godwin on a out pattern but the SO TE is called out at the 1 yd line. Now facing a 4th and goal from the 1, Coach Miller called for a FB dive up the middle with Kwabena Strong, but the Hokie D was ready as they stop Strong short forcing the turnover on downs.

Miller would sent the house hoping to secure a safety and get the ball back but Kilgo takes a HB draw up the middle for a 16 yd gain.. Fair would then hit Skuta on a nice 32 yd pass to push the ball almost to the 50 before the Panther D again forces a punt..

Moving to the 4th with FIU still down (35-14) the Panthers needed some quick scores. Hawkins would Badet on a nice 29 yd gain before connecting with Newkirk on back to back throws to push the ball down inside the 10.. Cantwell then took the handoff and hit the corner and was in for the 8 yd score to make it (35-21) with 8:18 to play.

The Hokies though answer back though matching the score with one of their own Kilgo caps off a 10 play drive with a 4 yd TD run as V.T. extends their lead to (42-21) with 5:21 to play.

Down by 3 scores with just over 5 minutes to play, the look of defeat couldn't be hidden on the FIU sidelines, but SO QB Derek Hawkins still came out firing completing 6/8 pass's on his final drive including 2 throws on 4th down to keep the drive alive before throwing his 2nd INT to SR CB Fredrick Stockton (88) inside the endzone on a pass intended for Dom Meeks.

Virginia Tech would tack on a 35 yd FG to close out the game.. But just like the 2028 season FIU dream's of a National Title fall short as fan's are now left wondering that the future holds Miller and the Panthers.

          VIRGINIA TECH WINS 2031 NATTY!!!

After scoring 56 points in their Round 1 win over Oregon and after scoring 37 points in their upset win over #1 Alabama, the Kentucky Wildcat offense went MIA as they manage just 3 scores in their final 2 games including just 7 points against the Hokies as V.T. pulls off the (21-7) victory..

            MILLER NAMED #25

It's official. FIU HC Matt Miller is heading to Columbus where he will be named the 25th Head Coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes..

OSU known as the richest program in college football with a net worth estimated over 2 Billion (yes Billion) had finally seen enough.. Once a National Power who has captured 39 Big Ten Championships and compiled 10 undefeated seasons and 9 National Championships, the Buckeyes have fall on tough times since 2024..

OSU has made the the playoffs just 1 time in the past 7 years (2028, going 10-4) following it up with a 5-7 record in 2029 and a 6-7 record in 2030 before finally finishing about .500 with (7-6) record including a LA Bowl victory this year.

A.D. Ross Bjork gave Miller just 1 goal.. "Make the Playoffs"

Miller leaves FIU with a (91-17) record, winning 3 CUSA Championships, 2 ACC Championships and 2 National Championships well leading FIU to 6 straight playoff appearances including 4 straight trips to the Semi Finals. Miller has a (25-11) record vs Top-25 programs and a (14-4) record in Bowl/Playoff games.

            FIU MAKES QUICK HIRE

Mr 305 (Pitbull) and the 305 Collective (NIL group) were quick to arm FIU A.D. Scott Carr with additional funds to help the Panthers replace Miller with a man who could potentially keep the Panthers among the nation's best for years to come.

FIU has announced that former Kentucky HC Barry Valdez has accepted a new 5 year deal with the Panthers after leading the Wildcats to a 2031 National Championship runner-up. Valdez comes to FIU with a (70-40) Overall Record lifetime but just a (5-5) Bowl/Playoff record and a 11-18 record vs Top-25 programs..

FIU OC CHUCK DOBBINS IS HEADED TO TTU

Despite their loss in the Semi Finals, FIU still managed to finish with over 8000 yds of Total Offense (Kentucky was #2 with 6600, Alabama was #3 with 6059).

FIU passed for 5264 yds (Alabama was #2 with 4545, Miami was #3 with 4430) and the Panthers ran for 2681 yds (Kentucky was #2 with 2525, Buffalo was #3 with 1881).

FIU also led the nation in scoring at 40.8 PPG (Alabama was #2 39.6, Miami was #3 37.1, Kentucky was #7 at 31.8)

With that former ECU HC and FIU OC Chuck Dobbins has proven he is ready to lead another school and Texas Tech coming off a (3-9) season jumped at the chance to jump start their program..

            Coach Miller
"I am excited for Coach Dobbs.. He deserves a chance to be a HC again and he did a amazing job this season helping me with our offense"

I think it will be a fun move for you after grinding out recruiting at FIU. Plus the Big 10 is no slouch and with the way the Carousel works, if you get bored with winning too quickly I'm sure another mid offer will come in for you to build up

Excited to see how you bring the buckeyes back to the top

                  THE REBUILD STARTS NOW!!

                  MILLER REBUILDS HIS STAFF

Trying to rebuild a staff with over 31 teams firing their HC this past season is difficult, but Miller landed on OC Nate Phoenix and DC Akeem Rhattigan. Both Coaches have ties to the Midwest as Phoenix as a Alumni of the University of Ohio and was on staff last year at UTSA as the teams OC.. Rhattigan is a former Oklahoma Sooner DC who with recruiting ties to Oklahoma and N. Texas.

                  Coach Miller
"I am excited both of these guy's... "Rats" (nickname for DC) has coached against some tough teams, and "Nix's (nickname for OC) brings us some new ideas on Offense (Pistol) and has a nice grasp on connection already built in with the instate kids."
                  PLAYERES LEAVING

Ohio State had 22 Seniors on this year's roster.. With the coaching change JR OLB Tremaine Carney (92 Ovr) has decided to declare for the NFL Draft well backup QB JT Griffen (78 Ovr) has decided to join the Transfer Portal.

                  NFL DRAFT

OSU had 9 players drafted... #1 WR Trent James (89) went in the 4th round as did starting RG L. Harris (90) and starting LT C. McArthur (89).

Starting LG P. Vaughn (88) and FS C. Balogh went in the 5th.

                  Starting C D. Braham (88) and Starting DE's L. Rivero (88) and D. Skaggs (88) all 3 went in the 7th.

                  CURRENT CLASS

Ohio State goes into Off-Season Recruiting with just 8 players committed (7-4* and 1-3*) with only 7 players left on the current Big Board that Coach Miller lands to keep and recruit that leaves 10 available scholarship for the Transfer Portal.

HAWKINS AND MCRAE BOTH STAY IN ACC

FIU QB's Derek Hawkins and Greg McRae rocked the transfer headlines as Hawkins announced he is transferring to the National Champion V.T. Hokies... Rumors were Hawkins a Wilmington NC native was very close to signing with UNC but instead will go to the Hokies..

Well seeing Hawkins in a Hokies uniform could sting with some Panther fan's seeing Greg McCrae in a Hurricane uniform is even worse, but that's where McCrae is heading as he packs he bags and heads 16 minutes down the road to Miami Gardens.

                        OTHER FIU SIGNINGS

Reports are McRae isn't the only former Panther who will be wearing Green and Orange this season. Reports are FB Kwabena Strong who though was set to graduate instead is coming back for 1 more year and Miami only it will be as a Cane as will FS Jamie Ali..

Former 4*/3* WR Reggie Abel announced he is following Hawkins to V.T. Abel a 6'5 218lb from Nashville TN redshirted last season for the Panthers and still has 4 years to play for the Hokies.

                        Other signings
                        RB J. Agasiva (Arizona State)
                        RB AJ Coffey (Army)
                        RB D. Trufant (Oklahoma State)
                        WR J. Singleton (South Carolina)
                        TE T. Tonyan (Syracuse)
                        DE D. Bliss (FSU)
                        DT T. Moehrig (Wyoming)
                        OLB N. Kashama (BYU)
                        MLB S. Holiday (Unsigned)
                        CB T. Hood (Vanderbilt)
                        FS T. Sharp (TTU)
                        SS R. DeMar (Georgia)

NEWKIRK WITHDRAWLS FROM DRAFT AND BOENZI RETURNS TO FIU

Well FIU lost plenty to the Portal this season, they did get some good news as both JR WR Kris Newkirk (88) announced he is returning for his Senior season and former 5* Emari Boenzi (74) pulled out of the Portal and will instead return to a very crowded FIU WR room.

                        OTHER PORTAL SIGNINGS

4* RB T. Lamur (Minnesota) is joining McRae and Strong at Miami. Fellow 4* RB N. Byler (Illinois) is trading 1 Big Ten uniform for another as he heads to Wiscsonsin.

4* QB D. Lamur (Colorado) turned down a chance to join FIU and instead signs with Oregon, 4* QB J. Ramsey (BYU) signed with Texas.

4* WR's L. Briggs (Arkansas) is head to TCU, M. Albabi (TTU) signed with TAMU as did his teammate E. Kongo who Coach Miller tried to get to Ohio State.

4* Slade Kurpeikis (BYU) is headed to Mississippi State

4* TE C. Ricci is trading Purdue for Kentucky and 4* TE B. Temple is going from South Carolina to K-State.. Temple was heavily recruited by FIU HC B. Valdez.

4* OLB Dillion Gentry (Kentucky/#3 Overall) was Coach Miller and the Buckeyes Top Targett but he signed with West Virginia.

4* MLB George Okoronkwo (Florida/#14 Overall) was FIU's #1 target but he signed with the Canes proving it was just Coach Miller who lost recruits to their inner city rival..

4* CB D. Waddy (Houston/#2 Overall) was another Top-target for Ohio State but he signed with TAMU

4* CB A. Tabor (Louisville/#7 Overall) was another Top-target for FIU and he signed with Georgia.

It was a tough off-season for Coach Miller and the Buckeyes... Miller went just 1/10 in the Portal landing 3* LT Montrell Johnson (La Tech ranked #110)

and secured just 5 more signings give OSU a Class of 14 players (8-4*, 6-3*)

One player that Miller did manage to add late was 4* WR Nick Tull (#259 Overall/#37 FL/#43 WR). Listed at 6'3 218 lbs from Winter Gardens FL, Tull becomes the first of what hopes to be many Florida recruits who will follow Miller to the Buckeye state.

The Top-10 doesn't shock me but I will say I am shocked that FIU's roster is as highly rated as it is with all the Transfers off the roster.. The ACC looks tough with 3 teams in the Top10 and Maryland sitting there at #11 and Virginia at #16.

I was shocked to see Ohio State ranked coming off a 7-6 season.. I am also surprised with how high team team is rated, I got a great QB and RB but my 0-Line and D-Line depth is gone as is the LB's. My CB's are solid and there is alot of depth.

The Big Ten looks to be even tougher the the ACC with 3 teams in the Top-5 plus a 90 Overall Notre Dame team sitting at #8 plus Washington at #18 and that doesn't even include Nebraska (87/87/87) ,Michigan (89/90/89) or Stanford (88/87/89).

I am not sure what to do with the Pac-12/16.. They don't have a single team ranked in the Top-10.. Boise State is the highest rated team at (86/87/86) yet CUSA has 3 teams #13 Kentucky, #23 James Madison and #24 Louisville.

What is Ohio State's prestige now? Never seen them miss out on so many transfer recruits lol usually they're adding 85+ OVR players to be their 4th stringer

Big Ten is stacked but I have a feeling Coach Miller injects some life into the Buckeyes
