Enjoyed both Pods as always, Deuce. Great job, my friend. Wasn't sure how it would work out with both FIU and OSU. But I like being able to see what FIU is up to post Coach Miller era. Hope maybe you guys can see each other in the playoffs.

      Thanks.

Yeah it's cool to be able to keep contact with the former team.. So far I havn't actually played in a game but we got a matchup with ECU this week and they are playing well (5-1), so will be interesting to see if the CPU can pull if off.. I think at this point the plan is to play the Miami game and then of course play the ACC Championship and the playoffs depending on the matchups.

I am a little surprised with the lack of signings by both clubs. I don't know what I need to do differently. All these other schools load up on like 10-15 4* guy's early but for some reason I just sit #1 all year and then in like Week 11-13 other teams come in and scoop them up. I am trying something different this week and changing my recruiting points from all in (50) to a Hardsell and seeing if that makes any difference.

I sens the house till Hard Sell is available. Once that is available I then do Hard Sell and do DM Player. I am usually able to start picking up guys around Wk 6. I am at TCU currently. I don't have any pts assigned to my coach. After this season I am going to PSU as a HC.

Btw. If you aren't part of the Reddit EA CFB community. There is a lot of helpful info. I just stay away from the toxic crap. Guys over there, including myself. We always throw OperationSports out there to help people if they are looking for sliders or stuff.

Yeah typically in past seasons I typically only Hard sell if I drop from #1 to #2. As long as I am #1 I typically just Send the house. However I am hoping maybe by doing Hardsells well at #1 maybe more guys will sign sooner. It sucks this year my schedule has alot.of late games to bring players in late but sadly alot of guys are visiting other schools earlier and signing else where

Re: The Making of a Legend Part II "It's Miller Time".. CFB25

From what I've read on reddit and seen in my experience with recruiting, if you've got A or higher on 2/3 pitches and at least a B on the 3rd, Hard sell outweighs sending the house.

If you look on the main screen where it shows everyones ranking for the recruit there are arrows by your chosen pitches. You'll start to see additional arrows next to hard/soft sells if they're being effective, so you'll get more of an influence without spending more points.

Typically I max out points until the Top 5 hits then switch to hard sell if I have the right rankings, or soft sell with the friends and family if they aren't as good. Sway can change a red X to a check mark, but it's not always effective enough. I've lost guys trying to sway another plus attirbute and it not taking effect in time and the #2 guy swopes in.

With this being my first time not putting points into the recruiting archtype its definitely been more of a grind for recruits. With USC I was maxed out on recruits by midseason, but even with Syracuse getting 4 5* I was recruiting the last one until Week 12.

                GAMERECAP

Michigan State came into the game (3-3) but they knew they could pull off the upset over #5 Ohio State and they almost did.

It was a battle from start to finish. Michigan State opened up the game with the ball and scored 4 plays in as SR QB Ed Downs (88) hits FR WR S. Fournette (74) on a 51 yd bomb to make it (7-0).

After a touchback, the Buckeyes would start from the 20 yd line and would get a scare as SR RB Mike Grubbs takes the handoff and is stopped for a 2 yd loss. Grubbs leg is pinched between 2 defenders and he has to be helped off the field as converted QB Anfernee Johnson takes over in the backfield.

With Johnson in the backfield QB AJ Breida would lean on SO WR Jabu Gayton in the slot and Gayton would deliver as he catches a 41 yd strike to tie the game (7-7).

Still tied (7-7) as we move to the 2nd Quarter, OSU is forced to settle for a Monty Carty 34 yd FG to open up the scoring as the Buckeyes take a (10-7) lead.. Michigan State would retake the lead midway through the 2nd quarter as Downs finds SO WR Soma Corker (72) on a 44 yd bomb to make it (14-10) but with under 2 minutes to play in the half Breida goes to Guyton again for another 22 yd scoring strike as the Buckeyes go into the half up (17-14).

Ohio State opened up the 2nd half with the ball and Breida wastes no time adding to the scoreboard as he hits JR WR Gill Alexander with a 85 yd bomb on the opening play to make it (24-14)..

Despite trailing by 10, the Spartans did a good job of not dumping the rushing attack as JR RB Nicholas Liggins delivers a nice 24 yd TD run to cut the lead to (24-21)..

Still trailing (24-21) as we move to the 4th, Michigan State opens up the 4th quarter scoring taking the lead as Liggins caps off a 9 play drive with a 4 yd TD run to make it (28-24).

OSU despite still missing Mike Grubbs continued to work Johnson in the backfield as he carries the ball 22 times for a career high 83 yds, but the hero of the day is actually RS SO RB Dave Jones. The Elmendorf Air Force Base Alaska native would carry the ball 6 times on the day for 27 yds including a 11 yd TD run to give the Buckeyes the (31-28) lead with 2:17 to play. Jones was also key in the passing game catching 2 balls for 53 yds..

Michigan State still armed with 3 timeouts had a chance for the win, but back to back sacks by Julian Apple and Rick Hendricks from the OLB spot forced the Spartans to send out SR PK Eric Forsett for a 51 yd FG attempt to tie the game with 47 seconds to play. Forsett's kick had the distance but sailed left of the upright.. Ohio State would take over on downs and kneel out the remainder of the clock.FINAL SCORE OSU-31 MSU-28

With the win Ohio State moves to (6-1) Overall and (4-1) in Big Ten play.. They jump 2 spots in the Top-25 rankings this week jumping to #3..

The Buckeyes will return home as they will host (3-3) Indiana in Week 8.

The Hoosiers have had a roller coaster season. They won their season opener in Week 1 beating Illinois (40-26) but then lost in Week 2 to FIU (38-35). Then after a Week 3 "Bye" they beat Pitt (31-24) but then lost to Washington (35-21) in Week 5. They then beat Minnesota (28-27) in Week 6 before falling to USC in Week 7 (20-10). So if their season continues that trend and with who they beat, they would be projected to beat OSU ..

                BREIDA JOINS HEISMAN HYPE

Despite completing just 46% of his pass's, JR QB AJ Breida has joined the Hesisman conversation as voters currently have him #3 behind FIU QB Kevin Pounds and Washington QB Zach Wire., well Auburn AB Jayson Leglue moves to #4 and FIU RB Terrance Cantwell continues to hold onto the #5 spot.

                  FIU HOLDS ONTO #1

The FIU Panthers dominated the 1st half taking a (27-3) over the Scarlet Knights into the locker room, but Rutgers would battle back in the 2nd half as the Defense smoothers the Panther QB Kevin Pounds holding the FR QB to his first game without a touchdown well also picking him off to help setup a 3rd quarter score but at the end of the day FIU holds on (27-13).

Pounds finished the day 13/26 (50%) for 191 yds with 1 INT.. RB Terrance Cantwell led the rushing attack with 15 carries for 77 yds including a 28 yd touchdown. Pounds added 37 yds on the ground well well RS FR Tim Trinidad added a short 1 yd TD run. Former 5* WR Emari Boenzi led the team with 3 rec for 71 yds.

                    GAME RECAP

The Panthers stay perfect as they move to 7-0 on the season picking up a huge road win over (5-1) East Carolina in Week 8..

QB Kevin Pound struggled in the game throwing 3 INT's but still managed a solid day as he throws for 3 TD's and runs for another to lead the Panthers to the victory. (Pounds- 21/39 53% for 335 yds 3 TD 3 INT, 37 yds rushing 1 TD).

RB Terrance Cantwell also had a rough day picking up just 60 yds on 21 carries (2.9 avg) as the Pirates focused on shutting down the Panther run game.

Former 5* Recruit Emari Boenzi continues to put up solid #'s with SR Kerry Newkirk still out of action.. Boenzi finished with a team high 8 rec for 113 yds and 1 TD, well former Cincinnati transfer Dom Meeks had 5 rec for 88 yds and 1 TD.

Defensively, the Panthers played great.. After giving up a 1st Quarter touchdown, FIU held ECU to just a trio of FG's as they sacked SR QB Sal Carter (81 Ovr) 4 times

Carter left the game briefly in the 2nd Quarter with JR Nick McGough (79) taking over. McGough finished out the half completing 4/9 for 75 yds but threw a INT to Cordale Ryder.. Carter then returned for the 2nd half with finished the game 14/19 (73%) for 157 yds.

**I played this game but used the playbook that was provided by Coach Valdez which is why I struggle both throwing some INT's and running the ball. For future games I am not sure if I want to continue to run my custom playbook that I used at FIU and am currently using at Ohio State or if I want to start building a new playbook for FIU... I have played games with Clemson's, Georgia's and TAMU's in the past as well as Arizona's..

                    UP NEXT

FIU will return home to Pitbull Stadium for a Week 9 matchup with Syracuse as they look to move to 8-0 and and 6-0 in ACC play

Man Coach Miller sure knows how to recruit QBs. All 3 in the Heisman convo played under him lol

Nice job avoiding the upset by MSU and a nice win for the Panthers without Coach Miller.

Yeah I had a feeling Wire would be solid.. He threw for 3286 with 32 TD and 4 INT last year and already is at 2065 yds 24 TD and 5 INT this year. He also has 242 yds and 3 TD rushing. They (Washington) were a battling for a spot in the Top-10 but just lost (38-36) to Pitt so they dropped to 17.

I really am hoping to land Courtland Coffey this year to be my next 5* guy behind Breida but Texas ha take a pretty big lead on me.. I got a Hard sell on him (Sunday Bound with a A+ (Championship Contender) A_ (Conference Prestiage) and A (Pro potential).. I still have a Week 11 visit scheduled with him but Texas has him in Week 13 and TAMU (currently in 3rd) has him in Week 10.

I dropped Boon the #1 QB off my list and He has locked me out with K-State leading and Missouri and Iowa currently his Top-3. I had a 4* I really liked too but he signed with Georgia

                          GAME RECAP

Ohio State got lucky this week as SR RB Mike Grubbs who missed the Michigan State game would return to the lineup posting a season high 139 yds and scoring 4 Touchdowns.

Indiana opened up the game settling for a 39 yd FG to make it (3-0) Ohio State responded with a 49 yd touchdown pass form Breida to FR WR Ezekiel Tandy who showed off his elite speed catching the ball a good 20 yds past the closest defender as Ohio State took a (7-3) lead.

Both teams then traded touchdowns as SR QB David Slade (87) hits JR WR Orlando Qualls (81) on a 86 yd bomb to make it (10-3) before OSU scores again as Grubbs scores the first of his 4 TD's to make it (14-10).

The Buckeye D then comes up with a huge play as SR FS Rodney Bean picks off Slade but Breida gives it right back as he throws the first of 2 INT's on the day.

Indiana turns the turnover into points as SO WR Nick Bruschi (79) takes a Jet Sweep handoff 65 yds to the house to give Indiana the (17-14) lead.

The lead was short lived though as Tandy again shows off his ability to make big plays as the Frehman takes the kickoff and returns it 96 yds for the score as OSU goes back on top (21-17). The Buckeyes would then close out the first half with a 35 yd FG by Monty Carty to make it (24-17) at the half.

OSU opened up the 2nd half with the ball and Breida leads OSU down the field completing 4/5 pass's including 20 yd touchdown to JR Gill Alexander to make it (31-17). After forcing a punt, Ohio State gets the ball back and uses a 9 play drive capped by a 6 yd TD run by Grubbs to increase the lead to (38-17) as we head to the 4th.

OSU opened up the 4th quarter scoring as Breida finds SR WR Kevin Kosier on a 20 yd strike to make it (45-17). RS FR Nick Costanzo would pick off slade to set up Grubbs for his 3rd rushing touchdown of the day as OSU extends the lead to (52-17) still with over 4 minutes to play. Despite the lead Breida was still throwing and would be picked off for his 2nd INT of the day, but Indiana fails to convert a 4th and 3 giving OSU the ball back as Grubbs takes in TD #4 with a nice 21 yd run to make it (59-17) with 2:02 to play. Indiana again fails to convert a 4th down and turns the ball over on downs with 42 seconds to play, as OSU runs out the clockFINAL SCORE OHIO STATE-59 INDIANA-17

Slade finished the day 9/22 (40%) for 159 yds with the 1 TD and 2 INT

SR RB Damarious Boiman had 11 carries for 110 yds including 3 runs over 20+ yds but left the game early in the 4th.

With the win Ohio State moves to (7-1) Overall and 5-1 in Big Ten play. They are currently tied with Oregon who also has 1 loss in Big Ten play.

The Buckeyes will now travel to Minnesota for a Week 9 matchup with the Gophers. Minnesota is (4-3) on the season. They opened the year 3-0 with wins over South Carolina (34-31) Alabama (10-7) and Washington (24-21) but then lost 3 straight Pitt (24-13) Indiana (28-27) and Cincinnati (37-27) before breaking their losing streak in Week 8 with a (20-17) win over Stanford.

All 4 of their wins have come by 3 points well 1 loss was b 1 point. I can't tell if that means they are good or lucky cause I feel like they could easily be 0-7 right now but also feel like they could be good.

                            GAME RECAP

A great Defensive effort by the Buckeyes including 2 INT's led Ohio State to it's 8th win of the season over the Gopher's in Week 9.. Well Ohio State played great on the field, the Buckeyes got some not so great news in the world of recruiting as 5 key players come off their Big Board in Week 9 just 1 week before several were scheduled to visit Columbus and Ohio Stadium for the Week 10 matchup vs Illinois.

Ohio State jumped out to a early (14-0) lead as AJ Breida throws a pair of touchdowns including a 26 yd TD to TE Ryan Pierre and a 24 yd TD to JR WR Gil Alexander. For Alexander it was his 10th of the season as he leads the team and has taken over the role as the #1 WR.

Minnesota would cut the lead to (14-7) as JR QB Taylor Brightwell (81) hits SR WR Mike Darnold (76) on a 18 yd score but the Buckeyes would close out the 1st Quarter with a a Monty Carty FG to make it (17-7).

The Gophers would actually tie the game in the 2nd Quarter (17-17) as Brightwell scores on a 29 yd touchdown run and then after a forced punt Minnesota drove the length of the field before setting for a 26 yd FG.

Ohio State opened the 2nd half with the ball but had to settle for another Carty FG and the later in the 3rd OSU extended their lead again as Carty hits FG #3 to make it (23-17). The Buckeyes would add on to the lead in the 4th as Grubbs scores on a 26 yd run to make it (29-17). Leading by 12, Coach Miller left the offense on the field as Breida finds his big TE Ryan Pierre for the 2pt play to make it (31-17). Carty already with 3 FG's on the day comes in and adds #4 late in the 4th..FINAL SCORE OHIO STATE-34 MINNESOTA-17

Brightwell finished the game 10/26 (38%) with just 94 yds in the air with 1 TD and 2 4th Quarter INT's.. He lead the team in rushing with 11 carries for 60 yds including the 29 yd TD.

                            RECRUITING UPDATE

Just 1 week after landing 2 recruiting including their 2nd 5* Recruit of the season, Coach Miller got some horrible news as 5 players made their commitments elsewhere, including 5* QB Courtland Coffey.

Coffey (#5 Overall/#1 TX/#2 QB) is going to be a Longhorn.. Listed at 6'3 226lbs from Belton TX, Coffey as Miller's hand picked guy to be the heir to the QB throne in 2034 with the graduation of AJ Breida.. On a positive note, Coach Miller still had 2033 to find his next QB for the next 4 years.

Coffey wasn't the only potential offensive star to sign somewhere else this week.

4* RB Marco Iosivas (#184 Overall/#1 OR/#17 RB) signed with USC.. Listed at 6'3 230lbs from Portland Oregon, Iosivas was Oregon's Gatorade Player of the Year and has been compared to FIU "Legend" Tavon Logan..

                            Coach Miller
"Losing Coffey hurt but we got another year to find our next QB and it's not to say it still can't come from this class. We have several 4* QB's we like including DeMarco Killings who signed back in Week 1.. However losing out on Marco cuts deep.. We were loved his game film, and honestly I felt like he could've been the next Tavon Logan.. USC just landed a generational talent."
The loss's didn't stop. Miller looking to rebuild the O-Line misses out on 2 key recruits there as well as 4* RG Sterling Alford (#103 Overall/#4 OH/#5 OG) signs with Notre Dame and RT Trey Potts (#296 Overall/#11 OH/#24 OT) signs with Wisconsin.

OSU also lost out on 4* ATH/D-Line Caesar Lorenz (#87 Overall/#10 TX/#9 ATH) who signed with TAMU

                            Coach Miller
"We still have a great group of guy's on on board. all we can do is hope that a big win next week we can start getting some commitments from the guys especially those coming to Columbus this week for the game. I still believe with the talent we have left on our board we can be a Top-5 class this year"

The Defending National Champs might not play in the ACC title game, but they are positioning themselves for another run at the playoffs as they improve to 8-2 and move to #6 in the rankings with a (22-20) win over Rutgers. It's been a odd year for QB Derek Hawkins who has 2004 yds passing but just 11 TD's and 7 INT's.

sucks about losing out on Coffey and the othe recruits, but who knows maybe Killings will surprise you once he gets on campus.
