    GAME RECAP

For over 100 years Ohio State and Illinois have met on the gridiron to battle each other for the coveted Illibuck trophy a little wooden turtle. Why a turtle well nobody is 100% sure but reports are a live turtle was actually the trophy in 1925 but it died a year later with the schools voting on a wooden replica to replace it.

Well Ohio State has dominated this rivalry over the years (68-30-4), Illinois did have a nice run in late 80's early 90's winning 8 out of 10 matchup's and like it was reported last week well this might not be the "Game of Hate" you can still throw out records when these 2 teams meet and Illinois proved it tonight.

Ohio State jumped out to a early (14-7) lead in the 1st Quarter but Illinois battles back as JR QB Tony Bigby (82) throws a pair of touchdowns in the 2nd Quarter to SO WR Calvin Tribble (75) to give the Illini the (21-17) lead at the half.

Ohio State would settle for a FG to open up the 2nd half making it (21-20) and Illinois with another Bigby touchdown to SR TE Frank Maybin (71) from 25 yds out to extend the lead to (28-20)..

Ohio State would open up the 4th Quarter with a 37 yd TD run by SR RB Mike Grubbs to make it (28-26).. Trailing by 2, Coach Miller left the offense on the field and would go for the 2pt play to try and tie the game but Breida's pass is off target to TE Ryan Pierre as the Illini hold onto their 2pt lead.

The Ohio State Defense would force a punt with 4 minutes to play in the game.. Miller knew this game would come down to who had the ball last and after losing to PSU in the final minute, he didn't want to face that type of defeat again..

OSU riding a solid rushing attack of Grubbs/Breida/Johnson, OSU would hold the ball until their was just 10 seconds to play before Monty Carty came on to kick the 22 yd game winning Field Goal.. FINAL SCORE OHIO STATE-29 ILLINOIS-28

Bigby finished the game 19/31 (61%) for 216 yds with 3 TD

    KEY BUCKS

    QB AJ Breida-20/34 (58%) 346 yds 2 TD, sacked 3 times, 48 yds rushing
    RB M. Grubbs-14 carries 89 yds 1 TD, 2 rec 44 yds
    RB/WR A. Johnson-8 carries 16 yds, 6 rec 99 yds
    WR T. Pappoe-6 rec 114 yds 1 TD
    WR G. Alexander-3 rec 47 yds
    WR J. Gayton-3 rec 42 yds

    UP NEXT

Ohio State will have Week 11 off before returning to action in Week 12 @ Wisconsin.. The Badgers are (5-5) and are looking to get their 6th win and become Bowl eligible.

      BUCKEYES ADD 6 COMMITMENTS

With a home came vs Illinois as well as the "Bye" Week, Coach Miller and the rest of the Buckeye staff came away with 6 commitments over the past 2 weeks bringing this year's class total to 11.

After disappointing news in Week 9 when Miller learned that 5* QB Courtland Coffey was headed to Texas and 4* RB Marco Iosvias was head to USC, the Buckeyes needed some good news and they got it in a "Big" way.

5* RT Jamal Haden (#6 Overall/#1 PA/#1 OT) and 5* LT Dennis Howden (#31 Overall/#5 FL/#2 OT) both are headed to Columbus.

Haden listed at 6'7 296 lbs from McKeesport PA had scholarship offers from Penn State, Rutgers, Pitt and Buffalo..

Howden listed at 6'4 295lbs from Ocla FL, had scholarship offers from TAMU, Marshall and FIU, as Coach Miller steals away a Florida recruit from his former team.

Haden and Howden were not the only 5* Recruits to sign this past week.. 5* Athlete Eric Clemens (#21 Overall/#1 UT/#3 ATH) also committed.. Clemens listed at 6'2 236lbs is projected to play Linebacker next season for the Bucks.

Still looking for a bigger back to partner with 5* Athlete Cameron McCracken and take the scholarship vacated by Iosvias, OSU landed a solid replacement as 4* Ja'Quann Britton (#447 Overall/#18 OH/#40 RB) from Akron Ohio signs. Listed at 6'2 228lbs, Britton had scholarship offers from Kentucky (#2) and FIU and was also being recruited by Notre Dame, Ohio State and Penn State even though none had officially offered yet.

Britton wasn't the only Ohio player to sign.. Miller also landed this year's Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year in 4* RT Vince Perkins (#62 Overall/#1 OH/#6 RT) from Reynoldsburg Ohio.

Rounding out the signings is the first WR of this year's class. 4* D'Angelo Lowe (#331 Overall/#6 MO/#43 WR). Listed at 6'1 206 lbs from Florssant MO, Lowe had offers from Notre Dame, USC and Texas.

With the 6 signings, OSU now has 11 commitments including a nation leading (5)-5* and (6) 4* jumping the Overall Ranking to #5 Overall and #2 in the Big Ten (USC is #4 with 14-4*)..

With the 3 5* signings OSU doesn't have any 5* Recruits left on their big board but that doesn't mean they are done adding impact players. Coach Miller still has (15) 4* Recruits on his radar as well as (9) 3*'s as he still has a goal to fill all 35 scholarships this season.

      Coach Miller
"It's likely we won't sign all 24 players left and it's likely that in the final 2 weeks we will lose some of the players on our board.. Our current play is to fill those potential scholarships with players from the transfer portal in the off-season, but we as a staff still have a goal to use at least 30 scholarships this season"

        GAME RECAP

Sometimes it just feels like the deck is stacked against you and today was one of those day's. It started off with a game time temp near freezing, then Ohio State would lose Star QB AJ Breida midway through the 2nd Quarter but with 3 INT's already on the day and just 8/17 (47%) passing some say that might actually not be a punishment.. Despite both of that plus the fact the Badgers had already scored on 2 plays over 50+ yds in the 1st Quarter, Ohio State manages to tie the game (21-21) with 31 seconds to play in the half as backup QB Ryan Russo throws for 1 score and runs for another (27 yds).

Wisconsin QB Sean Cole wasn't happy about the late score and shows off his big arm again throwing a 42 yd pass to set up a Lloyd Harvner 41 yd FG as time expires to give the Badgers the (24-21) lead.

Wisconsin opened up the 2nd half with another big play as Cole hits SO WR Conner Amerson on a 89 yd bomb to extend the lead to (31-21) then it was Russo throwing his 1st INT of the day and the Buckeyes 4th INT of the game setting up another Cole touchdown as he hits SR WR Paul Sauder on a 45 yd score to make it (38-21).

Russo would bounce back from his INT and lead a 6 play drive ending with a 6 yd TD pass to Gil Alexander to cut the lead back to (38-28) as we head to the 4th.

Wisconsin would extend their lead with a 25 yd FG by Havner (41-28) early in the 4th, well OSU continued to battle and with 4:50 to play in the game Russo finds Anfernee Johnson on a 26 yd scoring strike to make it (41-35).

Wisconsin would call on Havner again to make it a 9 point game (44-35) with 2:42 to play as he connects from 45 yds out.

Ohio State knew they needed to score quick and hope for a potential onside kick. With Breida still on the sideline, Russo led the offense onto the field. For the Senior QB this was his first live game action in 4 seasons with the Buckeyes.. Wisconsin already with 4 INT's on the day brought out the Dime Defense rushing 4 and dropping back 7 into coverage and SR CB Mitch Prince (77) is there coming up with his 4th pick of the day..

The Buckeyes still armed with all 3 timeouts would manage to force another Havner FG to make it (47-35) with 28 seconds to play..

Russo despite his earlier 2 INT's never gave up as the Senior came out slinging as he hits Freshman Ezekiel Tandy on a 78 yd bomb to cut the lead to (47-42) with 18 seconds to play. OSU would attempt the onside kick their only play left, but the Badgers hands team was ready as they recover the kick and kneel out the remainder of the clock.

Wisconsin QB RS SO Sean Cole (84) might be the greatest QB to play for the Badgers since Russell Wilson.. Cole finished the night 18/29 (62%) for 455 yds with 4 TD.

Fellow RS SO Alfonso Dingle (85) led the Badgers on the ground with 18 carries for 72 yds

JR WR Lyle Madu led the team with 5 rec for 135 yds and 1 TD well also adding a 5 yd TD on the ground.

        KEY BUCKS

        QB AJ Breida-8/17 (47%) 126 yds 1 TD 3 INT, 29 yds rushing
        QB R. Russo-17/26 (65%) 363 yds 4 TD 2 INT, sacked 3 times, 9 yds rushing 1 TD
        RB M. Grubbs-13 carries 91 yds
        RB A. Johnson-2 carries 7 yds, 3 rec 53 yds 1 TD
        WR E. Tandy-3 rec 132 yds 1 TD
        WR K. Kosier-5 rec 114 yds 2 TD
        WR J. Gayton-6 rec 84 yds
        WR T. Pappoe 4 rec 63 yds
        WR G. Alexander-2 rec 23 yds
        TE R. Pierre 1 rec 21 yds

        IMPACT FROM THE GAME

With the loss, Ohio State falls to #13 in the CFP Rankings at risk now of not even making the playoffs after spending most of the season ranked in the Top-5.

Despite their 2nd loss in Big Ten play, OSU can still clinch a spot in the Big Ten title game vs #3 (10-1) Oregon with a win over Michigan in Week 13.

        UP NEXT

The Buckeyes will return home for their final home game of the season as they host their #1 most hated rival (7-4) Michigan.

To add fuel to the already heated rivalry matchup, OSU's Big Ten Title hopes and Playoff hopes are on the line..

Michigan is riding a 3 game win streak with wins over Pitt, Michigan Stat and Washington and would like nothing more then to make it 4 in a row and ruin Ohio State's season

        INJURY/RECRUITING UPDATE

Well the loss is very disappointing, Coach Miller did get a little good news after the game.. QB AJ Breida was cleared by Medical and will be available vs Michigan. However OSU will be without it's Top-3 DT's as the Trio of Senior's A. Bequette (Compound Foot Facture-10 weeks), Malik Stewart (Pulled Groin-2 weeks) and Gabriel Zamatis (Broken Wrist, 7 weeks) are all out. Only Stewart has a chance to return to the field this season.

Coach Miller's other good news is the signing of 3 more recruits..

        4* WR Gabe Cobb (#250/#34 TX/#29 WR)-6'5 202 lbs-Houston Texas
        4* WR Greg Lainer (#172/#3 KY/#22 WR)-6'2 200 lbs-Lexington Kentucky
        4* TE Kaleb Poole (#358/#15 OH/#17 TE)-6'4 241 lbs-Massillon Ohio

Ohio State now has 14 commitments (5-5*, 9-4*) and climbs to the #2 ranking in the country behind Alabama-19 players (3-5*, 16-4*). They are also #1 in the Big Ten with Nebraska (#3), USC (#5), Oregon (#9) Notre Dame (#11) and Wisconsin (#14) all looking to make moves in these final weeks to make the Top-10.

Killings should be decent.. He has good speed (84) and a decent arm (91 THP) His Ablities are Mobile Deadeye and Off Platform and his Mentals are Clearheaded and Road Dog. I got another 4* from Texas still on my board that is more of a runner (better speed #) and Option King Ability, but he has a good arm too (92 THP) Florida is trying to chance me down. We are currently the only 2 schools offering. There was a 4* Lefty still on the boards that has me #2 as well but Oklahoma has taken a pretty big lead on him so I sorta wrote off any chance of signing him. He is a busted gem so I am not to worried about it.

Nice pick-ups in recruiting, Deuce. The lines looks like it has a possibility to be a monster with those 3 tackles. Receiving core also looks to be a match up nightmare with the receivers and tight end you picked up. Tough loss though against the Badgers. Dust it off and time to go to the next opponent.

              WEEK 12 UPDATE

#1 FIU defeated Wake Forest (24-21) and #2 Miami defeated Syracuse (54-35) as both teams finish the season (11-0) to set up a epic Week 13 matchup for not just the "King of the City" but to finish the year #1..

With #5 Virginia Tech, #9 UNC and #15 Virginia all having 2 loss's in ACC play, FIU and Miami are guaranteed to face each other in a rematch game in the ACC Championship as well.

#3 (10-1) Oregon will host Penn State in Week 13.. The Ducks are guaranteed a spot in the Big Ten Championship not matter what and I am sure will be watching the OSU/Michigan game to see if the Buckeyes will be their opponent.

#4 (10-1) TCU will face #7 (9-2) Kansas State in a epic Top-10 matchup.. TCU has won 10 straight since opening their season with a Week 1 loss to Texas Tech. K-State has 2 Big 12 loss's so a 3rd loss will most likely drop them out of the Big 12 title game as #12 (8-3) Oklahoma State currently has just 1 loss in conference play.

#5 (9-2) Virginia Tech will take on instate rival #15 (8-3) Virginia in Week 13. It's a must win for the Cavaliers if they have any chance at keeping a playoff spot alive. For V.T. it's all about seeding, as they are currently projected to be the #6 seed.

#6 (11-0) Boise State will face San Diego State on the "Blue" for their Week 13 matchup. BSU is a lock to make the Pac-12 title game and will be watching to see if it's Tulane, Colorado or Washington State (all tied with 2 loss's) on the other side. BSU is currently projected as the #4 seed in the playoffs.

#8 (8-3) Notre Dame. The Irish have been in stealth mode moving up the standings each week (they went from #10 to #8 this week) despite 3 loss's the Irish are in line to make the playoffs (projected #9 seed) despite pretty much a zero chance of playing in the Big Ten title game.

#9 (9-2) UNC.. The Tarheels will play NC State in Week 13.. As long as they win, then they should hold onto a Top-12 spot in the rankings and potentially make the playoffs as the 4th team from the ACC. They are currently projected as the #8 seed.

#10 (8-3) Arkansas. The Hogs will face #16 Miss State in Week 13. The Bulldogs were ranked #8 last week but lost (31-30) to Florida State. It's a must win for the Hogs to keep their SEC title hopes alive and a playoff bid alive. They have 2 loss's in the SEC and both are to #14 Ole Miss and #19 Clemson the other 2 teams who are currently favored to play in the SEC Championship with 2 loss's as well.

Ole Miss plays Florida State and Clemson will face South Carolina.

#11 (11-0) San Jose State will look to finish perfect as they host Wyoming in Week 13.. The Spartans are then projected to play #21 (9-2) Nevada in the MWC title game. The Wolfpack however have to play #25 (7-4) UNLV in a non-conference matchup first. If Nevada can beat UNLV and then beat San Jose State they have a outside chance at the playoffs as the highest seed should they jump the Spartans in the rankings.

              HEISMAN TALK

FIU's RS FR Kevin Pound still currently is the favorite to win the Heisman. Notre Dame JR QB Nyles Witt however has jumped to #2 with Oregon RS SO QB Stephen Blunt now #3. Auburn's RS SR Jayson Leglue is #4 well Washington's RS SR Zach Wire is now #5 with Ohio State's AJ Breida currently out of the discussion.

              ESPY'S

KP is currently the favorite for the National Player of the Year as well as Best QB.

RS JR Cordale Ryder is currently leading the vote for Best Defensive Back, teammate SS Tim Pinner is #3.

FIU's Terrance Cantwell is currently the favorite to win the Doak Walker Award making it 5 straight years won by a FIU Panther, but Ohio State's Mike Grubbs is currently #2 in the voting, with Cantwell out for the next 2 weeks with a Torn Labrum

Ohio State's Ezekiel Tandy is currently the leading vote getter for Returner of the Year.

San Jose State HC Tim Mckinney is currently leading the race for the Coach of the Year, but Boise State Datt Murfee, Miami's RJ Turner and FIU's Barry Valdez and Oregon's Chris Cooper are the rest of the Top-5. Matt Miller is currently ranked #12.

The San Jose State OC and DC are currently #1 and #3 in the voting for the Broyles Award, well the BSU OC is #2.

FIU's OC Clayton Dee's is currently #5 in the voting well DC Jose Phenix is #8.

0-Line was a huge worry.. My current starter at LT is a Soph who probably would be better played at LG and my starting RT is a Junior who probably would be played at RG, so there is a pretty good chance both could start next season with the 4* as my main backup for the next 4 years.

So far the only WR I lose at the end of the year is my #5 Kevin Kosier (16 rec 285 yds 4 TD) and Johnson who plays both RB/WR as my 3rd down RB and slot WR.

I have a 4* I redshirted last year who is 6'3 with solid speed (93) and hands, so he will likely get first crack at the #5 role with incoming guy's most likely redshirting and taking over for Pappoe and Alexander who are both Juniors after they graduate.

I am sure Michigan will bring it but I have been pretty successful in the past on Senior Day.. The fact it's a home game (Wisconsin's Camp Randall is ranked #21 and offers squiggly lines and tough reads on the pre snap routes) makes me believe we can rebound from the loss.. We are undefeated so far at Ohio Stadium this year but I am sure the Wolverines will bring it..

I will be playing the FIU/Miami game this week too and probably next weeks ACC Championship game too.. Both should be great battles. Especially after our epic battles last season..

                  GAME RECAP

Another season in which FIU Panther fan's will be left wondering what if.. What if #1 RB Terrance Cantwell didn't get hurt.. They say bad things happen in 3's.. Well in 2028 FIU lost Tavon Logan to a injury then last year, FIU lost Shawn Boyce. Now 1 year later down goes Cantwell.

Cantwell was leading the team with 192 carries for 883 yds with 13 TD's leaving RS FR Marvin Ware (45 carries 238 yds 4 TD) to take over RB1 duties.

With Cantwell out you could tell it put more pressure on RS FR QB Kevin Pounds who played a great opening quarter throwing touchdown pass's to his 2 Senior WR's (Newkirk and Meeks) but a INT in the endzone killed a scoring opportunity and then FIU would have to settle for 2 short FG's to close out the 1st half as they go into the locker room with a (20-17) lead.

Big plays by the Hurricanes and turnovers by the Panthers led to Miami scoring 3 times in the 3rd Quarter including a pair of touchdowns from JR QB Legend Coffee (85) to SO WR Andre Draft (83) for 75 yds and 60 yds, well KP throws INT #2 and Ware coughs up a fumble as Miami takes the lead (38-34) into the 4th.

FIU would have to settle for a early FG to start the 4th leaving them down by 1 (38-37). The Panther D comes up with a big play holding the Hurricanes to a FG to make it (41-37) with 5:55 to play in the game.

Pound would throw his 3rd INT of the game well trying to get the Panthers into the endzone but the good news is SR FS Anthony Cookus gets the ball back as he picks off Legend Coffee to give Pound another chance but with 3 minutes to play, Pounds pass intended for Kerry Newkirk is dropped on 3rd and 16 forcing FIU to punt.

Miami down to the 3rd string RB as both SR Tracey Lamur (85) and FR Ezekiel Wiggins (81) are injured earlier in the game turn to another FR DJ DeLouca (78) who breaks a career long going 63 yds to the house for what would be the game winning score as Miami takes a (48-37) lead with 1:14 to play.

Pound facing a 3rd and 12 lines up in a shotgun formation with 5 WR's but the RS FR saw daylight and took off running 37 yds for a touchdown with 39 seconds to play to cut the lead to (48-43). FIU would leave the offense on the field hoping to convert the 2pt play and make it a 3pt game, but Pound is sacked in the backfield.

FIU would attempt a onside kick but Miami recovers as the Hurricanes are crowned "King of the City" and #1 in the Country.

Dang both teams suffering some tough losses. You figured you'd drop at least one more in Big Ten play, just means "The Game" means that much more this week.

Miami may have won the battle. But, FIU will win the war at the ACC championship game.

                        BACKGROUND

This rivalry started back in 1897 with both teams meeting 120 times.. Michigan actually leads the series (62-51-6 IRL) but since this Dynasty started Ohio State has won the last 4 meetings including a (38-35) victory in the Big House last year for the Buckeyes to get Bowl eligible with their 6th win.

Known as "The Game" this rivalry is all about pure pride as there is no trophy that goes to the winner. With 19 National Championships and 83 Big Ten titles combined between these 2 programs this game typically has played a major role in late season quests for both titles and today is no different..

For Ohio State, a chance to play in the Big Ten Championship is on the line as well as a chance to earn a playoff seed. Coming off just 7 wins a season ago, one would say Coach Miller's 1st season in Columbus has been a success but Miller knows he wasn't hired to win 10 games against other opponents.. He was hired with 3 goals. Beat Michigan, win Big Ten titles and play in the playoffs.. A loss here despite 9 wins would be considered a major disappointment for not just Miller but the entire Buckeye nation..

                        GAME RECAP

Sticking with tradition, Coach Miller inserted every Senior into the starting lineup on both sides of the ball including SR QB Ryan Russo who would be making his first career start after filling in for the injured AJ Breida in last weeks loss to Wisconsin.

Michigan started with the ball but were forced to punt giving Ohio State the chance to take the early lead and they did as they go 10 plays ending with a 1 yd TD run by SR FB Eric Tyron to take a (7-0) lead midway through the 1st Quarter.

Michigan would respond with a FG by SO PK John Scukanec (78) to make it (7-3).. OSU would add to their lead as SR RB Mike Grubbs breaks free with a 37 yd TD run to make it (14-3) at the end of the 1st Quarter.

Michigan would settle for another Scukanec FG as he hits from 57 yds out (with room to spare) to make it (14-6)..

Ryan Russo still in at QB would try and tack on a quick score going over the top to JR Gil Alexander but the Michigan D was ready as grab the INT setting up a short touchdown run by FR RB Martin Davenport (75) to make it (14-13) as the Wolverines elect to kick the PAT.

Russo would bounce back from the earlier INT by hitting former QB turned RB/WR Anfernee Johnson for a 31 yd score as the Senior makes another big play in his final home game of his career as OSU extends their lead to (21-13).

Michigan responds with a huge play back though as JR QB Trey Heeney (75) hits JR WR K. Nailor (83) on a 53 yd bomb with 1:53 left to play in the half making it (21-20) as the Wolverines continue to elect to kick the PAT..

*Heeney is the backup QB. Senior Louis Owen (80) is out with a injury, but he has had a decent season throwing for over 1500 yds with 14 TD and 4 INT.

Russo would come out looking to run the 2 minute Offense but he wouldn't need to do much as Tandy gets free on the outside and Russo delivers a perfect pass for the 64 yd pass and catch score to push the Buckeyes lead to (28-20) with 1:23 to play.

The OSU Defense then forced Michigan to a quick 3 and out giving the Buckeye Offense the ball back with 47 seconds to play. Russo looking to deflate the Michigan sidelines looks to Alexander down the sideline for another big play but again the Wolverine Defense makes a big play getting the INT.

The plan backfired as the Wolverines bring out Scukanec for a 55 yd FG as time expires to make it (28-23).

Ohio State opened up the 2nd half with the ball and with that came the return of JR QB AJ Breida.. Breida makes quick work of the Wolverine D finding SO Jabu Gayton on on a 18 yd score to extend the lead to (35-23).

Heeney and Nailor were not the done though as the duo hooks up for their 2nd score of the game to cut the lead to (35-30).

Breida would then throw a INT giving Michigan the ball back with a chance to take the lead and they would as Heeney finds JR WR Max Shorter on a 12 yd score to make it (36-35). This time Michigan leaves the offense on the field to convert the 2pt play and they do as they push the lead to 3 points (38-35) early in the 4th..

OSU had multiple attempts to retake the lead and Michigan had a chance to put the game away with under 4 minutes to play but Heeney is picked off by FR Frank Pounds giving Ohio State the ball with 3:12 to play.

Needing a FG to tie the game and force Overtime, Coach Miller knew he rather just win it in regulation.. He gave Breida the gameplan but the JR QB failed to execute instead putting the Buckeyes into a 1st and Goal with over 2 minutes still to play. After letting the 2 minute warning run out, Breida takes the snap and hands off to Johnson who runs in the 1 yd score as OSU takes the lead (42-38) with 1:58 to play.

Would Heeney be the hero and lead Michigan down field in 2 minutes for the final score of the game?? No.. The OSU Defense comes up big with 2 sacks on on the final drive after recording just 1 in the other 38 minutes of the game an facing a 4th and 17, Heeney's pass is knocked to the ground.

OSU could've just lined up in the victory formation but Coach Miller called a stretch run play to the left with Johnson in at tailback and the Senior playmaker delivered as he hits the corner and turns on the jets for a 61 yd touchdown run to close out the victory...

Heeney finished the game 20/37 (54%) for 299 yds with 3 TD and 1 INT, he also had 12 carries for 34 yds.

Just posted.. I was a battle. I was like Holy crap I am really going to lose 3 games in a row (counting the loss to FIU). But it was good.. I am excited to play the Championship games later tonight and hopefully the playoffs tomorrow.

That is the hope.. FIU dropped to #4 with the loss, but a win in the ACC title game will get us the First Round Bye as ACC Champs. Week 13 was crazy in the ACC. #15 Virginia beat #5 Virginia Tech too.

So now we got Miami (12-0) at #1, FIU (11-1) at #4, UNC (10-2) at #6, V.T. (9-3) at #8 and Virginia (9-3) at #10.. Could we really have 5 teams from the ACC in the Playoffs, that would be unreal.. The crazy part is right now there is not a single SEC team projected to make the playoffs.

                              CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK

ACC- All eyes will be on the rematch between #1 Miami and #4 FIU this week. Can the Hurricanes make it 2 in a row, or will the Panthers get their revenge.. RB Terrance Cantwell has been cleared and will be ready to start at RB.

BIG TEN- #2 Oregon didn't play #9 Ohio State during the regular season this year so this will be the first matchup between these 2 squads.. Can Coach Miller pull off a Big Ten Championship in Year 1 of the Buckeye rebuild and keep Ohio State's playoff dreams alive?

PAC 12- #5 Boise State will take on #20 Tulane as the Broncos look to stay perfect and earn a Top-4 seed and 1st Round Bye.

BIG 12- #3 K-State will rematch with #11 TCU.. A loss by the Horn Frogs could knock them out of the playoffs, so it's a must win for them. For K-State a victory secures a 1st Round Bye as a Top-4 seed.

SEC- #15 Clemson will take on #12 Mississippi State.. Current projects don't have either team making the playoffs, so that's a first in 8 years.. Has the SEC fallen?

MWC- #14 Nevada beat instate Rival UNVL to jump 7 spots in the rankings last week giving them a glimmer of hope for the playoffs, well #11 San Jose State fell to Wyoming as their perfect season came to a end. The Spartans dropped to #17 in the rankings. Current playoff projections have the winner still not making up enough spots in the rankings to get to #12 though.

AMERICAN #13 Purdue will take on #24 UMass. Current projections have the Boilermakers making the jump into the Top-12 and earning the #12 seed if they can win.

CUSA #19 Kentucky will take on Charlotte. This is the first time in 9 seasons that the 49er's have made the title game.. Projections have neither winner making the playoffs as the Wildcats dream of a repeat run to the Natty come to a end.

SUN BELT #23 La Tech will take South Alabama..

MAC Toledo makes the title game for the 2nd straight year as they face off against Central Michigan.

                                GAME RECAP

FIU opened the game with the ball and quickly scored as Kevin Pounds finds Emari Boenzi on a 29 yd score to put the Panters up (7-0).

FIU would extend the lead to (10-0) early in the 2nd Quarter before Miami finally got on the scoreboard midway through the 2nd Quarter with a 48 yd TD run by SR RB Tracey Lamur (85) to make it (10-7).. Pounds and Boenzi would hookup for TD #2 with 1:51 to play to extend the lead to (17-7) but Miami responds with a 65 yd TD pass from JR QB Legend Coffee (85) to SR WR G. Finneran (89) to cut the lead to (17-14) as we head to halftime.

Miami opened up the 2nd half with the ball as Coffee goes back to work leading a 11 play drive ending with a 11 yd TD pass to FR TE Matt Haack (73) to give the Hurricanes the lead (21-17)..

FIU however responds back as Terrance Cantwell scores on a 32 yd TD run as the Panthers retake the lead (24-21) going into the 4th.

Miami would retake the lead as Coffee hits SO WR Andre Draft with a 16 yd score after another 9 play drive making it (28-24).

FIU knew this game would come down to who scores last, and it did.. FIU would look to leave as little time on the clock as possible as they use a 8 play drive ending with a Pounds to JR WR Carlos Badet 29 yd score to take the lead (30-28) with 1:12 to play. Coach Valdez would leave the offense on the field as Clayton Dees calls in the play to Pounds. KP takes the snap and rolls to this right hitting TE Eric Godwin for the 2pt play to make it (32-28).

Miami now needed a touchdown to win as a Field Goal now was no help. The Hurricanes took the ball at the 17 yd line with 1:02 to play... They would only need 1 play to get that lead as Coffee bomb out a 83 yd pass to JR WR Dillion Yancey making it (35-32) with 55 seconds on the clock.

The Panthers only needed a FG to force O.T. but it wouldn't matter as Kevin Pounds is picked off by SR FS Jaqquez Terrell as he trys to hit Meeks on a out route down the right sideline.. Ball game over..
