    GAME RECAP

The College Game Day crew showed up for the Week 10 matchup between #7 Penn State and #3 Ohio State, but the only problem was the Nittany Lions offense didn't show up until it was to late.

Ohio State jumped out to a (21-0) lead in the 1st half despite the fact that QB Nick De La Rosa threw 2 INT's, as the Buckeyes leaned on their rushing attack as Fredrick Tam scores his 18th and 19th rushing TD's of the season.

The Buckeyes extended the lead to (28-0) as De la Rosa finds Ezekiel Tandy for a 4yd TD..

Penn State would respond with a back to back scores and SR QB Quincy Cheeks (83) throws touchdowns of 71 yds and 59 yds to make it (28-14), but the Buckeyes answer back as De La Rosa and Tandy hookup for touchdown #2 (39 yds) to extend the lead back to 3 scores (35-14)

Again Penn State would rally as Cheeks throws TD #3 with 5 minutes to play in the game making it (35-21), but the Buckeyes answer again as De La Rosa throws his 4th TD of the day to make it (42-21).. With 2:27 to play.. Cheek then would throw a INT to FS Ronnie Darilek to seal the Buckeyes victory.

    IMPACT FROM THE GAME

Ohio State's win over #7 Penn State was enough in the CFP Rankings to propel them to #1 over Oklahoma and LSU going into Week 11.

The loss drops Penn State to #15 in the rankings and with their 2nd Big Ten loss, the Nittany Lions chances of playing for a Big Ten Title are most likely gone and any more loss's and their playoff dreams will be over.

Ohio State now 7-0 in Big Ten play are tied with #5 Wisconsin making the Week 12 matchup another high profile Game Day matchup.

    RECRUITING

Despite the massive win, Ohio State did not add any recruits this week but on a positive note they didn't lose any either..

FIU dominated the 1st half taking a (17-0) lead as Duke QB RS SO Percy Uzomah (81) throws 2 INT's.

Duke opened up the 2nd half with the ball as Uzomah throws his only TD of the day capping off a 11 play drive with a 5 yd score to JR WR Lamarcus Laborn (84). The Blue Devils would try for the 2pt play but fail leaving it (17-6).

FIU would then drive the ball 80 yds over 11 plays of their own finished by a 1 yd run by Tim Trinidad to make it (24-6)

Both teams would trade FG's make it (27-9) with under 5 minutes to play in the game, but FIU quickly adds another touchdown as UZomah throws INT #4 only this time SO Major Mentor takes it back 82 yds to the house for the "Pick 6".

Duke had the ball 1 more time on offense but turned the ball over on downs.

Uzomah finished the day 14/30 (46%) for 142 yds 1 TD 4 INT

It was somewhat a quite day for the FIU Offfense. as the Panthers had a season low 362 yds of Total Offense.

De La Rosa heard the chatter and did enough to keep his job for another week. With how high you are ranked even if you lose to Wisconsin and miss the CCG you'll still be in the 1st round

I honestly thought about pulling him after the 2 INTS because Tull was wise open on both plays but he just under threw the ball. But they didn't capitalize and punted and I was still leading.

The Wiscomsin game will be huge. Right now Notre Dame has 1 loss. I would hold the tie breaker against them and should still make the Big Ten Championship. I think as long as I got revenge and got the win there Iwould jump back to a Top-4 seed.

Stanford is my last game on thr road but they are like 3-6.

For FIU i still got Miami at home but they are currently 5-5 and just trying to get Bowl eligible. It looks like it will be Virginia Tec for the ACC title.

It's funny I summed ahead just to look at potential job offers and to see what underclassman potentially leave. FiU was the #1 seed and loses to #8LSU in the 2nd round . Ohio State ended up the #2 seed and lost to Alabama in Round 2.

          Bad draws for both schools.

            GAME RECAP

The final score makes it appear to be a better game then it really was.. Ohio State led (21-10) at the half and 28-10 for most of the 3rd before Nebraska cut the lead to (28-17) going into the 4th.. Both teams would throw 4th Quarter INT's (2 each) before Ohio State finally capitalized with a 33 yd FG to extend their lead to (31-17)..

The Cornhuskers then scored on a 80 yd TD pass from SR QB Sammy Nailor (86) to to JR WR Nelson Burress (80) to close out the scoring making it (34-24) with under a minute to play.. Nebraska's only hope was a onside kick but the Buckeyes hands team recovers as OSU runs out the clock.

It was a weird day for the Buckeys on Offense as RS SO Fredrick Tam is injuried on his first carry of the day (3 yds) leaving Dave Jones and Curtis McCracken to do most of the work on the ground as Ohio State still manages to turn out 181 yds on the ground. SR WR Jabu Gayton helped out with a 18 yd touchdown score on a jet sweep for his first rushing touchdown of his career.

The good news is for Tam it was just a strained calf and he is expected to be good to go next week as Ohio State takes on Wisconsin.

However not all is good on the injury front as OSU continues to get hammered by injuries..

Starting FS Ronnie Darliek (86) will miss the rest of the season (8 weeks) with a Foot Fracture, Center Marquis Pena (88) is out for the rest of this year and possibly some of next year (15 weeks) with a Torn Tricep and starting CB Nick Costanzo (88) is out for the next 2 games with a Dislocated Hip.

All 3 players are Juniors so at least they are not missing Senior Day or their last chance to play at the Shoe.

            UP NEXT

Wisconsin beat Oregon this week (31-23) and coupled with LSU's loss to Ole Miss and Oklahoma and FIU both being on a "Bye", The Badgers jump to #2 in the rankings in time for the matchup with Ohio State making Week 12's matchup a Battle between #1 vs #2.. Both teams are currently undefeated in Big Ten play making this also most likely a preview of this year's Big Ten Title game. Unless something crazy happens in Week 13.

            RECRUITING NEWS

Coach Miller came away with 2 more signings as 4* QB/ATH Julius Breida (#338/#5/#20 QB) and FS Onaje Onwuasor (#473/#59 TX/#30 FS) both signed. Breida is the younger brother of former 5* QB AJ Breida who led Ohio State to the National Championship in 2032.

Breida turned down the hometown Washington Huskies and USC well Onquasor had scholarship offers to K-State and Tulane.

              PANTHERS WEEK 11 TEAM REPORT

              TOP-25 NEWS

With the Panthers on their "Bye" Week, they stay at #4 in the CFP rankings.

FIU is currently projected as the #3 Seed in the latest playoff projections.

              UP NEXT

FIU will travel to Charlottesville VA in Week 12 to take on (6-4) Virginia.

FIU will then return home for a Week 13 matchup with Miami For the King's Crown and the Keys to the City) as FIU hosts Senior Day as 13 Seniors as well as a few underclassman will most likely play their final game at Pitbull Stadium.

              Coach Valdez
"We know for a fact that both Devin Kennedy and Ian Kamula are currently being touted as 1st Round Picks.. We are also being told JR DE Kerry St Pierre will likely join them as a 1st Round or early 2nd Round pick and JR RB Marvin Ware has been projected as a 3rd Round selection. We were a little surprised that most scouting agencies currently have Kevin Pounds as a 3rd or 4th round selection.. I am not sure the reasoning behind it other then the QB Class this year is super deep (9 Seniors are all ranked 90 and above) and JR QB B Louis (Notre Dame) is a 92. With that said we feel almost 100% sure K.P is going to return for his senior year. as he would most likely be the 1st QB taken in next year's draft."

              RECRUITING

It has been a rough 2 weeks for the Panthers the Top-2 targets on the big board sign elsehwere.

5* WR Fredrick Riggins (#5 Overall/#1 MS/#1 WR) ends up signing with Ole Miss.

4* RB Ray Lipscomb (#77 Overall/#8 FL/#11 RB) signs with Miami

***He is the player I wanted to most.. I think he had to potential to be the next Tavon Logan***

Miami also signed 4* CB (#97 OVR/#10 FL/#6 CB) who was FIU's #5 target left.

With Riggins off the table, FIU did manage to land a pair of 4* WR's in Nigel Baggs (#99 OVR/#11 FL/#11 WR) and Tevan Culliver (#200 OVR/#20 FL/#25 WR

The Panthers class now sits at 8 players (4-5*, 4-4*) and is ranked #20 Nationally..

                  GAME RECAP

The College Gameday crew was back in Columbus for the matchup between #1 (10-0) Ohio State and #2 (10-0) Wisconsin.

The Badgers kept things close in the 1st Quarter trailing (7-3) and it looked like they were going to keep things close going into the half after the Badger Defense picks off Freshman QB Nick De La Rosa with under 3 minutes to play in the half trailing (14-3), but 3 turnover by the Badgers would lead to 20 unanswered points by the Buckeyes to close out the 1st half leading (34-3).

After the INT, Wisconsin SR QB Sean Cole would throw a INT of his own setting up Fredrick Tam's 2nd rushing score of the game and Tam's 21st of the season.. Wisconsin would get the ball back with 2:34 to play but Cole is picked off a 2nd time in less then 30 seconds and Ohio State turns it into points again as De La Rosa hits JR WR Nick Tull on a 16 yd score to make it (28-3) with 42 seconds to play... It look like Wisconsin would just try and run out the clock, but a Jet Sweep handoff to WR Conner Amerson is fumbled and the Buckeyes jump on the loose ball setting up a 13 yd TD pass to TE Caser Bourgeois.. Ohio State however would miss the PAT..

Ohio State started the 2nd half with the ball but would punt giving as Wisconsin responds with their best drive of the day going 77 yds on 11 plays capped by a 1 yd run by RB B. McKinnon to make it (34-10). Ohio State leading by 24 would stick with their ground game that turned out 130 yds in the 1st half and Senior Dave Jones playing his last game at the "Shoe" delivered as he scores 9th TD of the season capping off a 9 play drive to make it (41-10).

Despite the 31 point lead, Ohio State continued to still throw the ball too, and with 6:54 to play De La Rosa would find SR Jabu Gayton for a 7 yd score to make it (48-10).

                  Coach Miller
"It was a goal to try and get each offensive Senior a touchdown and we accomplished that.. Our Senior's on Defense were huge today too as both Faitele Nauta (INT) and Ben Duff (INT and FF and Recovery) game up big in the 1st half"
Wisconsin would add a late score to make it (48-17) and after a missed Ohio State FG with under a minute to play got one more chance on offense but failed to convert a 4th down play as Ohio State takes over and kneels out the remainder of the clock.

                  IMPACT FROM THE GAME

Ohio State stays at #1 as they secure a spot in the Big Ten Championship with the victory moving to (11-0) and (9-0) in conference play.

Wisconsin drops to #6 in the Rankings and now is tied with Notre Dame with 1 loss each going into Week 13.

The Badgers will play #22 (8-3) Penn State at Camp Randall well # 3 Notre Dame takes on #7 Washington at Huskey Stadium.

*Should both Wisconsin and Notre Dame lose the the Badgers, Irish and Huskies would all have 2 loss's in Big Ten play, but the Badgers would hold the tie break and get a rematch with the Buckeyes.

                  UP NEXT

Ohio State will finish off the regular season playing @ Stanford.. Coach Miller is 2-0 against the Cardinals lifetime.. Stanford is (2-9) Overall and (1-8) in Big Ten play, so a upset win over the Buckeyes basically is their only hope of salvaging their worst season.

                  RECRUITING NEWS

Coach Miller landed 2 more commitments this week as 4* Guard Devonte Cisco (#194 Overall/#19 FL/#10 G) and 4* FS Trevon Burfict (#330 Overall/#38 FL/17 FS).

The Hurricanes are coming off a huge upset win over #5 Virginia Tech (38-30) showing that they still have the talent to beat the best teams in the country.

*Despite V.T.'s loss, the Hokies will still play FIU in the ACC Championship..

                    RECRUITING

FIU didn't sign anyone in Week 12, but did lose out on 4* WR Fianu Nkang (#191 Ovr/#4 AR/#22 WR).. With Nkang off the Big Board, FIU still has 14 players left on the Big Board including a trio of 4* WR's as well as a pair of 4* RB's, a 4* QB, 4* TE, and 5* RT Isaiah Cormier who would be the crown jewel giving FIU their 5th 5* Recruit in this year's class. GAME RECAP

It was a wet cold day, and after 6 drop pass's and 2 INT's by De La Rosa, Coach Miller had seen enough from the passing game and decided to just run the Cardinals to death.. The new game plan worked as Ohio State rushes for 484 yds and score 4 TD's including 3 in the 4th Quarter as the Buckeyes dominate for their 12th straight win of the season.

It was a weird day on offense for the Buckeyes as they found themselves facing 3rd down just 8 times converting 4 of them for 1st downs well also converting their only 4th down attempt on the day..

With the win Ohio State will stay #1 as they prepare for the Big Ten Championship in 2 weeks.

dominant finish from both FIU and Ohio State heading into CCG week. Both will be in even with a loss, but that 1st round bye is always nice.

Gotta wonder how De La Rosa is going to show up in the CCG/CFP, he's been shaky lately

                              GAME RECAP

The Huskies did something not to many teams have accomplished this season as they rushed for 155 yds and kept things close trailing by just 1 score with less then 3 minutes left in the game.

The Buckeyes jumped out to a early 14-0 lead but a pair of INT's by the Freshman QB Nick De La Rosa helped Washington make it a (28-20) game in the 3rd Quarter. Ohio State extended their lead to 2 scores early in the 4th but Washington kept battling as they made it (35-28) with 6:41 to play.. A forced punt would give the Huskies a chance to tie the game late in the 4th but they do were forced to punt with 3:12 to play facing a 4th and 12 deep in their own territory. Ohio State sticking with the ground attack that rolled out 344 yds on 45 carries and 3 scores, took off valuable time until De La Rosa finds Tandy over the middle for the game sealing touchdown with 1:45 to play.

It was a interesting day for De La Rosa. The Freshman made a great decision tucking the ball when nobody was open rushing for a 5 yd score to open up the game then made a couple bad throws in the 3rd as the Buckeye offense actually gets shutout but in the end finishes the day with a solid 10/15 completion rate and 3 TD's despite throwing for just 149 yds.

For SR RB Dave Jones is was a big day as his 202 yds gives him a career high 1869 yds on the season setting him up for a pretty high % shot at hitting 2000 yds on the year.

The former Alaska Air Force Brat saw just 3 carries for 3 yds in his first 2 seasons as a Buckey and had just 31 carries for 155 yds and 2 TD's in Miller's first year with the Buckeyes but he has exploded these past 2 years logging over 200+ carries and 1500+ yds and double digit TD's as RB1.

                              Coach Miller
"DJ has has been huge for us these past 2 years.. I am excited to see how his career finishes.. Obviously we hoping it's with his 2nd National Championship and a 2000 yd season but we will see"
With the victory Ohio State has now secured their 3rd straight Big Ten title since Coach Miller has arrived.. The Buckeyes also has secured their 3rd straight trip to the Playoffs as a Top-4 seed.. This however is the first season the Buckeyes have finished undefeated going into the playoffs.

                                GAME RECAP

FIU dominated Virginia Tech in the ACC Championship winning their 4th title in 6 seasons and 2nd straight under Coach Barry Valdez and OC Clayton Dee's. The win is the Panthers 29th straight victory dating back to last year's perfect season ending with a National Championship and 16 wins.

The victory also will secure the Panthers 9th straight trip to the Playoffs.

The FIU Defense did what it's done pretty much all season holding the Hokies to just 25 yds on the ground and just 2/12 on 3rd Down conversions and 1/3 on 4th down well limiting them to just 7 points.

FIU lead (21-7) at the half but extended the lead to (35-7) spending the bulk of the 4th Quarter just running out the clock and setting for a 25 yd FG late in the 4th despite facing just a 4th and 2.

With the victory FIU will secure a Top-4 seed for the 7th time as they look to defend the National Title with hopefully a 3rd straight trip to the final game.
