Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
Many rumors flying around about BYU having already accepted a conditional invite to the Big XII - the condition being A&M leaves.
Also more rumblings about Notre Dame and Pitt joining up and having a 12 team two division conference that plays 7 conference games to accomodate ND's schedule. The TV contracts would also be creatively structured to allow ND to keep most of their current NBC deal.
I don't buy ND joining the Big XII but I find the talk interesting and I think it would be pretty sweet, if it somehow happened.Comment

My issue is the rumors say BYU will come over. Why didn't the Big XII try and get them before with another team to ensure a championship game.
But oh well. I am excited that TAMU is going to leave. I like the rivalry with Arkansas and ideally hope they end up in the SEC. I know they will probably be door mats but for those that don't live in Texas anymore would have a greater chance of catching them on CBS.Texas A&M Aggies

If they do that then that sucks for SMU and Houston.
Do you really care where I sent this from?MLB: Texas Rangers
Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
NCAA: SMU, UTA
NFL: Dallas Cowboys
NHL: Dallas Stars
NBA: Dallas Mavericks

And if they ever for some strange reason decided to join one, it would be the Big Ten.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

So why would they suddenly decide to join the Big 12? Especially considering that it's pretty much ruled by another major power.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
I'm just sayin'. No offense to Big 12 fans, but the B1G Ten is a more desirable option for Notre Dame as far as revenue, academics, rivalries, traditional opponents, location, etc., and they've turned them down 3 times because they don't want to be in a conference for football.

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
He's right. It doesn't really make sense geographically, culturally, and academically (although I think academics are a relatively minor concern). The only reason I can think of that Notre Dame might like the Big XII more would be if the Big XII would let them keep their TV deal and not require as much in terms of revenue sharing as the Big Ten would.NFL: Indianapolis Colts (12-6)
NBA: Indiana Pacers (42-13)
MLB: Cincinnati Reds (0-0)
NHL: Detroit Red Wings (26-20-12)
NCAA: Purdue Boilermakers (FB: 1-11, BB: 15-12), Michigan Wolverines (FB: 7-6, BB: 19-7, H: 15-10-3)Comment

The idea that Notre Dame would become a member of the Big 12 is a bit far-fetched, IMO.Comment

I was thinking more that Notre Dame might join the Big East, considering they're a member of that conference in every other sport, they would be more likely to win that conference than the BIG Ten or Big XII, and the Big East would be more likely to allow them to keep their NBC money rather than divvy it out to the other members. Notre Dame could possibly be the Big East equivalent of Texas in the Big XII if they played their cards right.
It didn't make geographic, academic, or cultural sense for TCU to join the Big East either, but it happened. And yes, I know it was step up for TCU whereas it would be a lateral move, at best, for Notre Dame.Comment

I listed my reasons why it's doubtful they would join the Big 12, and why the B1G Ten makes the most for them. Take it or leave it.

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
I don't believe they would join the Big XII either, but crazier things have happened (TCU to the Big East for example). But to say that the BIG Ten is the conference they would join (and I'm assuming you mean it's the only conference they would ever join, no matter what) is also crazy to me.
If there's anything I've learned about all of this conference realignment, is that nothing is for certain.Comment

Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter
Whats the upside for ND joining any conference? They already have thier own very sweet exclusive TV deal. They already have a great deal regarding BCS entry, much better than if they were in a big conference. They can put together any type of schedule they want. They have no pressure to join any conference. If they ever did decide to join one. The big 10 makes the most sense geographically and schedule wise since they already play a few big 10 teams every year. ND hasnt even played a big 12 team in 10 years.Comment
