Re: Dear APF Dev Team....wheres the defense?

Instead of playing people who do not know how to use their top backs, play someone who does. If Someone is incapable in getting 100 yards or more with their back then they suck simple as that. Win or lose I have never not been able to get 10 yards a carry with Anderson online or offline. If you can't run in this game against the AI on any difficulty level or against people online then you obviously haven't learned how to run the football.

I think I have 40 different run plays for Anderson and 20 different various run plays for Meggett in my Giant created team offense. I use a check list so I use each and every variation when I play online or offline so I don't get caught in a malaize of using the same play over and over.

Just because you played someone using Earl doesn't mean ohh there is no problem with the run game, he probably was not using any more than 3 to 5 different variations which is what I see online anyway. Try playing someone who uses 60 and talk to me. The run game is overpowered.

Well BUDDY, then lets play and show me what you got. I have NEVER on EVERY game I have played online had a problem stopping the run. In our league I have stopped the run for a total of 89 yards in 2 games combined.

Online I have played alot of decent people and NOT ONE person has had these insane running yards you all are talking about.

So you say you will run no matter what for over a hundred on me. Lets see.
GT-Hotshot232 Lets play tonight after I get off work. No talking, lets see how it is on the field.

Re: Dear APF Dev Team....wheres the defense?

The running game is not overpowered. It can be frustrating trying to stop a great back, but AINT THAT how its suppose to be ????? I could see if there was NO WAY of shutting them down, but there IS.

If you are just calling plays willy nilly on defense then you are gonna be in for a LONG game.
Generally if you have some legend DT/DE/LB's they will handle their business against Great backs. If you are looking for a complete shutdow of the run each and every touch of the ball, you had better be a hell of a play caller in addition to having good players.

Great running backs are GREAT because they are HARD to shutdown. You cannot let your frustration with YOU not being able to stop the run translate into something must be wrong with the game.

lol how can you say its not overpowered?
between the brokenfronts, the slow linebacker reaction time as seen in the other thread
earl breaking 3-4 tackles on some runs
              Super Oline suction blocking

I'm not even going to argue the run, im stating those points out. I dont even know how you can disagree with any of those points.
Wait, nm, its me, I havent learned to stop the run yet.

I'm not talking about shutting down the run, I just want the defensive guys to make tackles is all. Is it soo much to ask for for the top defensive guys to make a tackle when they are right there to make the play. I am scoring 40 points plus against the AI on legend and against people online and its because the running game is overpowered as well as the rest of the offense. I pick 7 defensive legends and I am routinely in 42-35 slug fests against the AI in season mode on legend and its because I can't stop their run even when I have Carson, Taylor and others in place to make the tackle. They can't stop me either cause usually I get hit but all I have to do is tap A and my backs just wiggle out of any tackle.

Re: Dear APF Dev Team....wheres the defense?

We should do a poll. it seems like half the poeple on this board dont have a problem stopping the run, and the other half do.

I only playonline, and havent seen a back go over 100 yards on me for some time, and when they do, the guy is usually a punder and the backs average is between 4 to 6 a carry. Nothing to crazy there.

I dunno, I think with correct play calling (slants anyone?) and actually helping out you D by taking on blockers or contaning the back, its not that hard.

                      Stop crying and step up.

I am at work my self. So your little comment of "SOME PEOPLE WORK FOR A LIVING" is leading to the fact you saying I don't work. How about you stop and think before you post. I make decent money and I work 50 hours a week.

Now onto the game, i wanna see this overpowered running attack you are so up on ya high horse about. Lets run that game tonight. I get off work at 6pm tonight should be ready to play by 7pm central. Then after the game is finish we can report back here.

1 person says defense is fine vs 1 person says defense sucks
Who will win, find out soon guys

no, its only 2-3 idiots who dont think the run is not overpowered.
the other 95% of the posters regconize there is a problem with overpowered runningbacks. The others blindly defend the game or treat the other posters like idiots who don't know how to play defense.
guess what percentage you and hotshot are in?

duking it out proves nothing anyway. The proof is in the pudding.

Hotshot if you want to shut down somebody's running game then download and play my VIP. You're not worth my personal time. We're discussing a real issue here that should at least be acknowledged by the devs.
