I'm kind of wondering what he meant by racists as well, since I don't really recall ever seeing race brought into the thread. Especially since it isn't locked yet.

23 months his career is over. Its done well he was a average QB anyway. he wont come back until 2010. No one is going to pick him up and if they do he not playing QB. If he had 6-12 months he chance will have a better chance to comeback but 23 its over close the book on his career.

I guess i'm a racist for agreeing with the sentence and thinking that Vick was made an example of? really thmst30, don't go race baiting when that isn't even the issue we're discussing.

I won't go further but i'd have the same opinion if it was my next door neighbor or the pope who did this.

On a serious note, I have never liked Vick, hes just a thug in my eyes and I'm sorry if you don't agree with me. Maybe 23 is excessive, but still anyone who thinks this crime isn't hanus needs some help. Do you realize how messed up you have to be to ENJOY torturing dogs. The actual dog fighting happens all the time, its the fact that he and his buds personally killed a lot of them in disgusting painful ways that made the sentence the length it was. No normal person enjoys doing that to anything whether it be an animal or person. BTW the #1 sign for knowing if a person will grow up violent or is indeed very violent inside, is if they torture animals and ENJOY it. Disgusting.

do you think the judge used the whole torturing act to justify vicks prison sentence? i think it was more of you fought dogs, which is illegal, and you gambled, which is illegal. besides what you see in torture dogs i see in getting rid of evidence. vick does not have a shot he could give the dogs to kill them quickly and he does not want to shoot them because either he does not have a gun or the sound could get the neighbors to call the cops. he also can not let them go because they have been bred to kill. the only other option is to kill them with his bear hands(although i still believe his accomplices did all the killing).

Vick has to be an absolute idiot to put his career in jeopardy for that.

He should have just opened up a night club, if he wanted to be loyal to his boys (who certainly werent loyal to him when it came down to it, i guess it doesnt pay to "keep it real").

Yes and then Vick would be the modern day Joe Namath who had a restaurant with very fishy customers. The NFL didn't like it and told him to close it or leave the league. Namath chose to keep his restaurant and was retired for a bit until the place got closed down.

personally i don't like dog fighting and i don't understand why anybody else would, but different people like different things. its just people think that vick tortured these dogs to get a thrill. no, he was just running the dog fighting business and not trying to get cheap thrills by torturing dogs. and on top of that when people say that they can imagine what vick can do to humans if he does those things to dogs. i mean dogs won't call the cops on you, no one is looking for the dogs or will miss them, and you aren't going to easily do this to a human.
