I do think he deserves another chance, when he gets out, I just don't see anyway for him to be succesful.
?????, If I'm not mistaken if the Giants would've lost they would've still made the playoffs despite their 8-8 record. I don't care about that, all I'm saying is that there are some teams out there that would like to have what Vick brought to the Falcons, his struggles and all.

I understand that it is a long road to getting out of prison to being a top NFL QB. I'm just saying that it could be done. Warner, Kitna, and Maddox are 3 examples of guys who have been out the game and came back to do well for themselves. Granted they did start out in the pass happy AFL/CFL before playing in the NFL, but I think Vick could follow a similar path IF he is committed.

Don't know the stats. Especially the stats of first time offenders who flunk a drug test while waiting for sentencing. Which from what I understand is a big no no. But Vick can afford the type of legal counsel few in this country can afford. And if you don't think that made a big difference in the plea negotiations and this whole deal, I don't know what to tell you.

Maddox, Warner and Kitna were at least playing in deevelopmental leagues. They weren't sitting in the pokey. That's a big difference.

I can't see too many team who would be overjoyed to have him playing QB for them.

I see what you're saying. Maybe it would do him some good to try out for the AFL before jumping right back into the NFL.

But you're saying that if the current ******* Vick gets out and tries to come back, he will be unsuccessful. I would agree with that.

I'm saying that a new, rejuvenated, committed Vick gets out and comes back, I think there is a chance he will be successful.

I get what you are saying. What I am saying is being out of the game for 3 years, and playing that position would be near impossible for anyone. Not just Vick. Add in the fact that he's had his struggles to begin with, and I think it's highly unlikely he really mounts much of a comeback.

If Peyton Manning sat out 3 seasons, I'd say the same thing. That the odds are long against him.

The fact that he got more time than the other two guys who I guess were broke or near broke, certainly not as wealthy as Vick, got less time and one of them already having a record.....

He should of got 6 months at most, it's Peta, and all the animal protection agency is what it is, I really think it's gay, as I felt he was starting to get his act together, I mean everyone makes mistakes, I think it's crazy how you have a better shot to get out of Murder then a dog incident. Whats the diff between this and Deer Hunting really?

Vick funded the thing, that's why he got more time.

You don't think that had anything to do with the fact he was the ringleader and financier of the operation? When do the pawns ever get the same sentence as the king?

Re: Mike Vick sentenced to two years in prison

Can we get off the "everybody makes mistakes" nonsense, please?

It's not a "mistake" when you finance and build a dogfighting compound, then slaughter dogs by the dozens in the woods. That is an intentional, calculated, organized, inhumane, illegal act. It's not a trivial mistake.

A mistake is when you forget to tie your shoe. It's even a forgivable mistake when you have a couple drinks too many and attempt to drive ONCE or TWICE, or forget to pay a speeding ticket and have a warrant out.

I detest when I hear convicted felons say they made a "mistake" after they got caught selling drugs or killing somebody over an argument.

How about we just start with dogs being safe in that little part of the world and we'll work from there?

You can't because prosecutors would rather go after high profile cases than deal with issues that really effect society.

So it's forgivable to put yourself in a position where you can easily end up murdering a family?

I see drinking and driving significantly worse than killing dogs.
