Sure there will be more injuries with more games, but the % isn't going to change. The roster size and IR rules will change so that players who are hurt can be rested and kept on the roster. # of IR will go down because teams won't need to use it to hide players that they want to keep.
Now youll just pay for those meaningless games at the end of the year when certain teams have the division wrapped up.

Who wants bigger rosters? The talent is already spread thin in the NFL the last thing needed is guys playing that shouldnt be on an NFL team.

Yes, the NFL owners are entirely blameless in the situation that we now have.

Both sides could have done better. As it stands, we're going to have fun in the courts it appears.

Can someone answer this question for me? Why wont the owners show the books? If they get sued, EVERYTHING will be shown during Discovery. They could have shown the 10 yrs worth of books and maybe a deal would have been done.

Part of it is probably pride, part stubbornness, and I also think part of it is because they are hiding things they don't want the players (or public) to know.

So if the owners get sued and they go to court will the public end up seeing the teams financial information? Or is it something that would be private?

Being realistic, I imagined it would get conveniently leaked if in fact it was supposed to stay private.

I think that was the poster point. If this goes to trial owners will be forced to open the books. So if they are hiding something then what? Lose-lose for owners and Im sure this is what De Smith and company are banking on.

This is why I cant blame the players. If you say you are losing money and need a billion back.....prove it to me.

Guaranteed it would leak but the Judge could designate the documents confidential and only seen by the parties and their attorneys.

                            Thanks.

I thought they'd probably leak anyways, but was hoping it might be public regardless so we don't have to worry about it. Either way, it's going to be real interesting to see the numbers if we get to that point.

I put this whole mess on the owners.

                              (from Drew Brees):
"The NFL brought this fight to us – they want $1 billion back, we just want financial information to back up that request. They refuse to give that information to us. They think we should just trust them. Would you?"

From everything I've read and heard, this whole mess seems to be driven by the owners at the bottom(guys like Mike Brown & Jerry Richardson). They're not making as much as the top owners(Jerry Jones, Snyder & the Maras), so they want givebacks from the players.
