Didn't realize they could go that high for a player fine. That's a solid chunk of change even if the guy makes a good bit of money.

My man Cima over here in the football forums getting his preseason reps in for his Ohio blinders, trying to get all ready for NBA season over in the basketball forum.
How you gonna try to rationalize someone launching themselves into anybody's knees on a football field, pump fake or not homie?

Suh got a 164K fine for the stomp on Evan Dietrich-Smith. The largest I could find for an on-field issue. Off-Field Jamal Lewis got hit with a 760K fine for pleading guilty to federal drug charges.

Don't worry cima you got your way. Burfict will face no punishment for his bull**** low and dirty hit.
And I would've loved to see your reaction if the roles were reversed. And Donta Hightower went low on AJ Green or Tyler Eifert when the ball was thrown 15 yards downfield. You would've been clamoring for a fine or suspension. Just like everybody else was for Burfict.

Geno Smith named Jets starting QB. Good thing the Fitz deal was only for a year.Last edited by areobee401; 10-19-2016, 11:27 AM.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
On the whole fined for the stomp but nothing for cutting Bennett from behind thing. What's done is done. I'm just glad no one was seriously hurt. No sense in getting upset about it now that a ruling has bene made.
I must say, though. The NFL's fine system appears to be wildly inconsistent at times.Comment

Nice to see Matt Chatham putting this situation on the brighter side.

Should've let his *** walk. But I also know it's "easier said than done@ too.
Let's see if that knockout improved Geno's game.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Feel like Geno has a shot to be effective. Been a season and a half since we've seen him, probably needed more time then what he got coming in to the league and starting pretty much right away.
Expectations for him are low, Jets season is pretty much shot so not a lot of pressure to be the guy like he was being drafted relatively high. Still got Marshall to throw to, Forte and Powell as good receivers and runners (well... maybe as runners). Not sure about the OL there. Bowles has to be able to concoct a better defense then what they've put together but all Fitz's turnovers didn't help either.
Could be a pleasant surprise for NYJ. Might make a decision this offseason tougher then anticipated because I'm pretty sure he's done at the end of the year. Another reason Geno might put up his best work, playing for a job in NY or elsewhere.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

If y'all haven't heard of the kid helping out the Saints as Social Media reporter for the Chiefs game this weekend, go find the story. A great job by the Saints organization, and this kid is super entertaining and I can imagine he's a blast to be around.Comment
