    Re: NFL Off Topic

I don't think its unreasonable to see those two instances from Sunday's game as being dirty. Considering his past and the instance that occurred later in the game he is longer afforded the benefit of the doubt.

If this was a player who had no history of playing dirty or showing unsportsmanlike conduct then I think the chop-block as a dirty play could be a reasonable discussion. Stomping on a downed player's leg leaves no room for discussion, though.

In this case, however, I think you just have to add it to his growing list of **** plays.

Everyone sees what they want to see; no one except Burfict knows the true intention. Y'all can stick to your guilty until proven innocent conviction though. The difference with me is I'm not ready to call it either; it very well could have been a dirty hit because he could be THAT stupid. At the same time, I'd like to believe that he knows he's under a microscope, isn't THAT stupid, and made a bad read.

But you can keep your pitchforks out and call me the biased one, lol. You clearly only want to see it one way.
Lol where was all this at when you were calling Draymond Green all types of names after his incident with Lebron? I don't remember seeing all of this back then unless I'm misremembering things.

I don't think Burfict was like, YEAH! I'm gonna ruin this guys season. But it's certainly reasonable to think he has no ability to hold up on a guy and has no problem crossing the line even after his suspension.

Of course no one knows what he was thinking. That's a given for every single player on every single play. Pretty sure the players themselves don't know what they're thinking... otherwise guys wouldn't make boneheaded plays. All sports require some pretty snap judgement under pressure both physical and mental. In today's game, if you can't handle that in the form of restraint on hitting a guy low or defenselessly you're gonna sit.

I actually think cima is right that the Bennett hit is grey, he looked like he stumbled but still follows through. It's this, "we don't know what he was thinking!" stuff that shows you're going out of your way to defend him.

Touche sir, touche. I and many others had my mind made up about Green, like many do about Burfict. But like I stated in this case, I'm not dismissing either possibility. Maybe I should've with Green as well.

No matter what happens though, nobody is going to change their mind. If nothing happens, people will be pissed. If he's only fined, people will be pissed. If he's suspended, people will say "told you so".

Where did I say you all are wrong and that I was right? Did you even read the post you quoted?

I don't see what's so difficult to understand what I'm saying. I said it could be either a dirty play or a bad read. No one else has said that though, y'all ONLY see it as a dirty hit and nothing else. Of course I WANT to see it as a misread, I have vested interest in him. However, it very well could've been a dirty hit too because he's just that stupid and will never learn.

Like I said, no one's opinion is going to change. But hey man, whatever fits your agenda.

Funny how you wait until someone comments you can find some random thing to say is their agenda when so many people posted before them. It's so transparent man. There are plenty of homers, but stuff like this is when you cross the line. Nobody argues on a message board about a hit because they're secretly hoping that player won't be available when they play their favorite team. That's a ridiculous stretch even for you.

And this is why I defended gg and would anyone else you found some random reason to justify their thoughts. Most of us have no problem calling out a player on our favorite team if they did something dirty. And those who do have a problem with it sit quietly instead of creating these ridiculous arguments and then claiming everyone else has an agenda.

Why have you not even mentioned him stepping on someone's leg? I guess it's the camera man's fault for catching it?

Dude...lol, this whole thing is so ridiculous. The majority of people here think this Bennett play is black/white. It's not, it's EXTREMELY grey. People think the hit was with malicious intent, which is fair because he has a history of being an asshat. How am I wrong to raise another possible explanation though when it's a very plausible explanation? Show me your definitive proof that the hit was with malicious intent and then I'll apologize for raising the possibility that it wasn't on purpose.

As far as the alleged stomping goes, the video that everyone is referring to most definitely does not clearly show he stomped or stepped on his ankle. There's multiple angles of it, and nothing shows anything definitive. The referee was also right there and didn't call anything. If anything, this angle shows Burfict grabbing his backside and grabbing Blount's facemask, which could explain why Blount shoved him. https://gfycat.com/DirtyCheeryDuck

It is what it is man; when the evidence isn't clear, there's going to be different interpretations of what happened. All we can do is speculate.

In these incidents I always find it funny with one thing the defenders of the player always want you to believe. A player spends an entire game making precision movements with great agility and accuracy. Then on the one play that looks dirty: "Man, I dunno, are we sure he meant to do that?"

I'm not just picking on you either cima. Saw this with Suh as well.

Burfict is a dirty, dangerous player. Even if the Bennett play wasn't on purpose the continued offenses from him are the reason this is even a topic. I think he's a terrific linebacker but that means jack **** if he can't stop himself from these repeated stupid offenses.

                                1) Anybody making the argument you are would've been ridiculed no matter the fandom.
                                2) You have a history of making homeristic arguments that align with this current one.
                                3) He was FAR from the 1st one to comment, as if you couldn't quickly think of reasons to discredit the others.

This victim card you're playing is also common with you man. We're here to talk sports. You say something ridiculous, you'll get called out (same is true for me and everyone else). You bring this stuff on yourself... and no one needs to be a fan of a rival team to see it or point it out.
