I don't know too many swimmers, but there was a couple of D1 swimmers and D1 water polo player in my grad program and none of them trained on land outside of a weight room. They didn't do any running and were some of the most uncoordinated people when trying to run that I've ever seen.

Maybe that is unique, but I don't think a comparison of triathletes and just swimmers is great because obviously swimmers don't run at all when they compete.

Raiders and partners are asking for a record $750m to help build a stadium in Las Vegas, the Chargers have nearly doubled that figure, asking for $1.15b.

Neither bills to be paid by local residents, but instead each proposal asks for an increase in the room tax rate (SD: 12.5% to 16.5%, LV: increas less than 1%, from it's variable 10-12%).

          NFL Off Topic

          Per PFT.com

Although the NFL’s investigation into allegations that four players used performance-enhancing drugs has cooled down, it may soon heat up again.

The four players — Packers linebackers Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers, Steelers linebacker James Harrison and free agent defensive end Mike Neal — will be suspended if they don’t give interviews to league investigators by August 25, the NFL informed the NFL Players Association. The league told the union of its stance in a letter that was first obtained by Tom Pelissero of USA Today.

The letter indicates that the players would be suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the league, rather than simply suspended four games for a first violation of the league’s PED policy.

“The suspension for each such player will begin on Friday, August 26 and will continue until he has fully participated in an interview with league investigators, after which the Commissioner will determine whether and when the suspension should be lifted,” the letter states.

An Al Jazeera documentary named the four players as having received performance-enhancing drugs. That documentary also named Peyton Manning, but the NFL has already announced that Manning cooperated with the league’s investigation and that there was no credible evidence that he used or possessed PEDs.

The other four players and the NFLPA insist that they are not required to participate in any NFL investigation unless the league has “credible evidence” that they used PEDs. The league says that the purpose of the investigation is to determine whether there’s “credible evidence,” and that the players should participate. Unless the four players have a change of heart and agree to give interviews to NFL investigators, this appears to be shaping up as another battle between the league and the union.
Oh boy, another one of "these".

Surprised they're not just dinging them for the first offense penalty for not cooperating in the investigation, and going the indefinite route. Suppose it opens the door for a 'compromise' at arbitration.

              Heh, compromise.

I fully anticipate that this goes to court. I further suspect the NFL and NFLPA will continue to go at each other's throats with these power plays until the CBA is up, at which point we'll have a work stoppage when the NFLPA says "enough".

Bills WR Marquise Goodwin competed in the 2012 Olympics but missed out this year.

He's been pretty much anonymous in the NFL but word is he's having a good training camp/preseason. Spot is open for a WR behind Watkins and Woods.

Adele has turned down an invite to perform at this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show. NFL and Pepsi deny ever formally offering Adele the position. So crisis averted if you were one of those complaining when the rumor of her performing leaked the other day.

Considering the fact that Leonard Hankerson was almost guaranteed the 3rd WR position then threw it away with his hands of stone...I think Goodwin will get the job.

I really can't understand why anyone would care enough to complain. Who cares who plays?

Granted, I don't listen to mass-appeal corporate music but even if my favorite band was playing I can't imagine caring. It's like a 10-minute medley on TV. What's to get excited/angry about?

The thing is, Adele while she has a mass appeal isn't exactly the same as your typical mass appeal/oldie act they've been trotting out lately. Pepsi and the NFL couldn't pull her to the Dark Side LOL

He's a moron. For the folks who didn't see it, he says Congrats to the Bills, they locked up the fourth best QB in the AFCE. While that is definitely debatable, he goes on in his usual manner on video - talking about how the Bills organization has no self-esteem, so as soon as a player does well, they have to sign him etc etc.

He apparently didn't read one article about the signing. Its a one year contract with a team option for five more years. If they do end up picking up the contract, he's paid about 15th highest amongst QBs. Cowherd loves this stuff because the types that listen to him don't really do any research, they just want to hear opinions.
