Oh well, they played pretty damn good against a Gaints team that had something to play for. Little shocked how bad Trent Willams looked against Osi. Those sack/fumbles were killers. It would've been interesting to see if they hadn't lost the football both times in giants terriroty I think they win the game.

Intersting thoughts going into the off-season for me.

-What do they do with Portis, Moss, Fletcher, McNabb and Fat Al.

-What do they do with the 10th pick (for my money Trade down aquire picks, we have more holes than 1 pick can fill.)

-How do they address the QB situation. Rex played "well" but he had what 5 turnovers in 3 weeks.

      -Does Malcolm Kelly ever play.

-Where do they get the mising pieces for the 3-4 defense.

I want Portis to stay in as a 3rd down and pass blocking back. I also want to see Moss and Fletcher stay.

I love CP. But I think he is gone. Last few weeks the looked like they didn't need him. Torain on 1st and 2nd with Keiland on 3rd. Still a spot for one more on the roster but I doubt CP would take that role. Plus his contract could be used on the defensive side of the ball.

The draft if they move that 10th pick to acquire more picks like you mentioned. I would hope they don't cave in the fan pressure and get rid of the 3-4 after one year though.

The 3-4 did come around towards the end of the year though, maybe next year we'll be better

Honestly PPM, Shanny strikes me as the kind of guy that gives a **** what the fans think. I see the skins running the 3-4 until his son is fired as HC in 15 years or whatever.

Shanny also could give a **** about defense so I wouldn't use his ego to decide the fate of the 3-4. I think they'll stick with it but if the D is just as bad overall next year, there will be a new D coordinator who'll probably go back to the 4-3 and then all the players they bring in to make the adjustment will be out of position yet again.

                      Re: Washington Redskins Official Thread

The only way they can start to build that 3-4 is thru the Draft really. There was really no foundation to build that D upon since everyone on that side of the ball played a 4-3.

And this is where I kinda blame Shanahan on(and not just this)because what he should've done from the beginning was let the fans here know that this was going to take some time to turn around after the mess Vinny and Snyder created and that this was going to disappear in one year and the uproar about Shanahan and the D wouldn't have even been an issue this year. Instead, he goes out tells folks that this team can win now, when it was obvious from the beginning that it wasnt.

If you knew that this year was going to be about "evaluating the talent on the roster and doing what's best for the organization" then this should've been said in the beginning instead of telling the fans/media halfway in the season.

But yea, to start getting that D to play well, you gotta have a foundation there and it starts in the Draft and if the Skins follow the same blueprint we did when we switched to the 3-4, then they'll be in good shape for the long term.

Namdi is a FA and Los's contract is up. Does anyone see the skins making a run at him?

I can see the Skins taking a run at him, but he is going to be demanding alot of money. He would be worth it though. He's at least the second best at his position.

Carlos Rogers won't be a Redskin next year. Neither will Rocky McIntosh.

I won't be shocked if they make a run at Asomugha, because even at 30, he's still as good as ever, and Charles Woodson is still elite at 34 years old.

Don't be surprised if they sign Lamarr Woodley in free agency to fill a big gap at OLB. Having a connection with Lou Spanos doesn't hurt.

Shanahan is enamored with Locker, so I won't be surprised if they draft him at 10 if he's available, which I'm sure he will be. If Shanahan drafts him, I'm convinced it will be a good pick because Shanahan's always made QBs decent.

I do not expect H.B. Blades or Andre Carter back right now.

                                Yep.

If I was the GM, I would trade down from 10 with New England (if they want a player that high) and pick up an additional 2nd round pick. With the pick acquired from New England, draft Stephen Paea to man the nose, since nose is one of, if not THE most important position in the 3-4. Paea is a BEAST.

With the second round picks, I'd go with Pat Devlin if he's there. Although he played in the spread at Delaware, I believe he has the mobility to play in Shanahan's offense. With the second 2nd round pick, I'd go with either Robert Sands to sure up the free safety spot since I don't believe Kareem Moore can tackle to save his life, or draft Leonard Hankerson to give whomever the QB is a big wideout. I think Hankerson has the potential to be a top 3 receiver in this class. Even with a shaky QB situation at Miami, he still put up solid numbers.

I LOVE the depth at OLB in this class. If by any chance Mason Foster is there in the 4th round, I'd snatch him to play opposite Orakpo.

If that were to happen (long shot), the Redskins would have their franchise LT and QB in back to back drafts, plus a beast at nose, and a compliment to Orakpo that is desperately needed if Woodley isn't signed in free agency.
