Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools
im still having the same issue. I get to the patcher and I export the data base and save it to my folder. it says successfully exported. then I go to the editor and there is nothing in the folder. I check the folder (which I have saved to my desktop) and its empty. so after the patcher tool tells me to export the sys data file then prompts me to save the db file which has a blank screen, I save it, then there is never a db file there. if anyone can tell me whats wrong please help out.Comment

Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools
New version of EA DB Editor with slight modifications here.
Thanks to Xanathol for the tool.
The forum seems to have lost posts. Original post with changelog here:
SpoilerOriginally posted by XanatholI've made a couple of updates to the generic editor with NCAA 14 in mind.
Get it here!
( Get source here! )
In the zip is the new editor and my personal NCAA 14 roster ( not dynasty! ) config, expanding ( and a few changes too ) off of the one tdawg was kind enough to supply.
The new features:
1. Recalc Maps
So an illustration... if you are using my config, I have TGID ( Team ID ) mapped to show the Team Name. If, for example, you change the name of a team, the dropdowns for Team ID aren't changed unless you reload the data.....ooooooor hit Recalc Maps! Hopefully that explains that one!
2. MC02 Recalc OFF / ON
By default, this is ON ( so beware NCAA 14 people ), and when you save your data, the MC02 header hashes are calculated - just like they should be and need to be for Madden 12, NCAA 12, etc. But, NCAA 14 is broken, but in a good way! The hash is different but also, the data hash never changes with edits!
What does that mean to you? It means if you are editing an NCAA 14 roster, you no longer have to hex edit the header afterward - just turn this switch to OFF before you save and it should be all good.
3. I/O
Now this needs testing - you have been warned! But if all is good, may be the best part. In theory, you can export entries in a table and import them back or to a new roster. When you export something, you have to pick a 'key', which would typically be things like Player ID, Team ID, Conference ID, etc. This is needed depending on the import method used elsewhere.
Export->Single:
exports the currently selected item.
Export->All Visible:
exports all the currently displayed items in the current view
Import->As New:
attempts to import the item into the current view / table as a new item. Ex. a player that was exported from one roster and imported to another needs a new player ID - this is how you would do it.
Import->Overwrite Selected (minus key):
attempts to import the item into the current view / table overwriting the currently selected item. Say someone has a better configured player in their roster than yours. They can export it, send it to you, and since you already have this player and just want to update it, import it using this option.
Import->Overwrite Existing:
now this one should get yearly roster creators all hot & bothered, if I do say so myself! So say 2015 comes around and you and friends want to make a new, accurately named roster - a serious undertaking & a pita to coordinate! Well, maybe not so bad anymore....
Here's what you do - everyone start with the same roster and pick a team to work on. Filter out to your team, edit till your heart's content, then export->all visible. ( see where this is going? )
Now everyone send their exports to whoever is coordinating the effort and that person now imports each file using import->overwrite existing. Boom.
Please, please, please! Always back up your data & test, test, test! I really want this feature to work, as I do believe this one will be huge going forward, so PLEASE let me know if there are problems with this feature. Yeah, I know, I never response, etc, etc, but I will be watching for issues with this feature bc I really think we need it to work, especially with games like NCAA no longer on the production line.
Ok, have fun!Creator of EA Sports NHL DB PatcherComment

Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools
Is it possible to enable copy/pasting in the editor?
It would save a ton of time if we could copy the line of player info from one roster to another.....
Anyone know? DPyro?Comment

Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools
I've found that you can open two editors at the same time, if that helps?Comment

Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools
Does anyone have any idea how players are hidden? I loaded the default roster alongside roster #3 and am comparing values of Greg Zanon (who is now hid, but wasn't in the default rosters) and so far I've only found difference in height and weight.....Comment

Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools
I don't think I'm doing this right.. or it isn't exporting correctly.
The only info that imports is from the player bio tab. No "skater ai" info imports with the player bio....
On a side note I think I figured out how they hide players. They removed the reference to the player id# from the player index tab....
Will have to test this later.Comment
