Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
We are beginner golfers and got a couple of solid sets of clubs from Dick's Sporting goods, about $450 or so for each of us. But we decided to go look at putters at a golf discount store. So i was putting around with different ones on their practice area in the store and tried the Odyssey. I loved it's balance and strike a lot, and it 'fit' me really well. The price tag was wrapped around the shaft and I thought it read 59.99. Great!! I had no idea what Odysseys went for or what their status was in the golf gear world, I just liked the putter so I took it to the counter.
They rang me up and total was about 170.00!I was gobsmacked and lifted up the putter and took a closer look at the tag.....and finally saw that '1' on there in front of the 59.00. LOL
I bought the thing anyway, but I DO love using it. It helps to elevate my putting from crappy to passable. I'm sure you'll love yours.GO 'HAWKS!

Yeah, but only up to a point. We call it "talent juice". We also have an aid we call "aiming spice".Last edited by ImTellinTim; 07-09-2010, 12:26 PM.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I bought an Odyssey putter last year. It's very similar to the White Ice 2-Ball F7 (looks like a spaceship). My wife is STILL teasing me about this putter, here's why.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I usually play Pro V1. Recently I have been playing with Callaway Tour ix and it is pretty similar. I think I would like the Bridgestone balls as well. I also used to play with Nike's, but haven't used any of those for a while. Pro V1's are really the only ball I can tell that really make a difference in distance and spin for me (although the Callaway is close). All the other balls feel the same.
I'm playing in a little match in a couple hours and although we will be playing for a small amount of money, I really need to win this one for the bragging rights.
Countryboy, I will be in L'ville next Saturday playing golf at a Bachelor Party. I think we were gonna play at Shawnee, but since a lot of those guys are probably gonna get hammered and not be able to drive afterwards, the Shawnee area may not be the best place for them to leave their cars overnight. Not sure where we will end up, but wherever it is, I'm gonna beat the rest of my group.PSN: Koolie_G

You could always play at Iroquois which is a hop, skip, and a jump from Deja Vu Gentlemen's club. That way, after the round, you guys could move the Bachelor party to that establishment.
Have you thought about Nevel Meade? Its not in the L'Ville area, but its a very beautiful course, and its a British Links course. Was supposed to play their this weekend, but due to personal matters for 2 of our foursome, we cancelled the other day and are hoping to play their next weekend.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Nevel Meade looks like a pretty cool course. I'd never heard of it. Apparently the plan for my group is to play at Quail Chase. It's been a while since I played there, do have any thoughts on Quail Chase? I'm not a strip club guy, but the other guys wouldn't be opposed to it, so we might need to stay away from any course close to Deja Vu.
I think a night at the riverboat is planned after the golf course.PSN: Koolie_G

I hope you get to play the East course, as I would say its the signature 9 of the golf course. The first hole is a great nerve tester whether you are teeing off for the first time on the day, or the first hole of the back 9.
The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and they take great care of the course. Only problem is if it rains the night prior, as the course has some swails in it that retain water.
Let me know how your outing goes, as I shot 98 there. 47 on the South Course, 51 on the East. Shot a 9 on the opening hole of the East course, after plunking my approach shot into the water, and then 3 putting.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I use whatever I happen to have. I like the ProV's, but I don't pay what they want for them. It's amazing how many balls are within 6 feet of the edge of the woods. I know when my ball is close to the edge I'm watching like a hawk to see where it goes in. I just pay attention when I walk and never have to pay for balls.Comment
