I might be hitting the links after work today. And this only gets me more fired up to round up the boys and get it done.

I'm really really bad. I enjoy going though. I've actually gotten better this summer, but I'm still really bad.

If anyone is having short game problems, I recommend the book "The Art of The Short Game" by Stan Utley. I just picked it up recently and it totally changed the way I chip and pitch. My last three 9 hole rounds Ive had 13, 15, and 14 putts. Getting up and down has never been easier. I got it off of amazon for like 15 bucks. It comes with free shipping but u need an order of at least $25 so I picked up his other book The Art of Scoring but I havent read it yet. Check it out!

I love Utley's 'arc' concept. It has helped me sink more putts and chips. My pitching will always need work, but I'm starting to rethink my swing in general in regards to ball position. NO more Leadbetter under armpit style - no sir, it's going farther back. I had a lesson with a guy who used to be a top KS Amateur - changed my way of thinking completely.

Hoping to hit the course sometime this weekend, it's 90 consistently here though.

Well I shot an 88 today. Also checked out the Callaway X 20 irons...

Really really liked them and I'm pretty sure I'll own them within a couple weeks. It's not their newest set but they can be had for 400.00 right now.

                        I love my x18's.

Getting the 20's for $400 would be a steal...

If anyone ever makes a visit to Charlotte, I can get you on free at 3 courses, only catch is that I have to be in your group.

Would def make a trip for free golf

Wondering if anyone else has this problem....pretty much since I started playing (12 years ago or so) I can NOT hit off the driving range. It's like a huge mental block, combined with what is usually super thin grass and crappy golf balls. I can barely make solid contact sometimes.....then I get out in the first fairway and hit a beautiful iron into the green. It's a problem because sometimes I pick up bad habits on the range and my swing gets a little off.

So in the end, I never get any better unless I'm actually on the course playing on a regular basis, which is almost impossible as a student/recent graduate

I've gone out about 17 times since April and it's starting to pay off. Finally broke 100, and I'm getting so much better with my scoring irons. Got a round scheduled for today for my birthday and another on Thursday. Looking at geting either the R9 driver ot the tour v2 range finder for my bday.
