Im a gamer.

I like to buy new games.

I like to trade in those games to any retailer and buy new games with that money.

I like to rent games.

I like to buy used games.

I like to play my console even if my internet is not working.

With one console I can only do one of those things. With another I can do all of them. Thats how one is more gamer friendly and how another isnt.

I guess its only a matter of time if X1 will "adjust" their strategy if PS4 blows them out at the early stage of the next-gen. But your statement there is the reason why I am buying PS4 on day1. I dont have much time to play online games due to work and family, most of the sports game I buy is played offline. So with this, I really dont see the need to have Live, which is excellent in online service.

I might buy X1 in the future, if I see there are games that I like that is exclusive for X1. If not, I'll be skipping X1.

"participating retailers" is troubling. Could be normal retail language or could be restrictions regarding where and how I can trade in games.

It's participating retailers because presumably not all of them will be able to do whatever it will take to use the Azure system for license management is all.

Anything unknown is potentially troubling though naturally.

I really wanted to like the Xbox1...pricing and the restrictons were a no go for me smh..I'm still gonna play my xbox 360[I invested too many games and ms points into that machine just for me to let it go]...I'm leaning towards PS4 for my next gen console though...

If I could just use the xbox1's new controller with the PS4 it would be heaven

It would be incredibly dumb for a 3rd party not to have some sort of DRM if they're able to...people will still pay up. It's going to happen.

Sony was just clever in calling it "optional" even though they know what's going to happen...puts the emphasis on the developers.

Either way, MS and Sony are BOTH wrong for this even being a frickin issue.

I'm not sure about that. EA dumped their online pass strategy because of how angry gamers were.
But really, it probably meant it lost more money than it gained.

I'm with a lot of the other Xbox users here. I've been an MS supporter since the start, but I'll be going with PS4 this time around.
If MS changes it's policy's regarding DRM, I may change my mind. But right now, MS lost themselves a customer.

Well that was unexpected. Kingdom Hearts III and FFXV coming to XBox One as well as PS4! That sure made me feel better.

I knew there was no way FFXV would be a PS4 exclusive. Glad to see that KHIII isn't going to be either. There is too much money in those games to leave them exclusive. In my opinion at least. X1 folks should be able to enjoy them too.

Main reason I was a Xbox guy was I liked the online service better and how we got stuff early compared to PS3

I can't quote the bottom of the page but it says Microsoft will enable gamers to share their games & trade their games

3rd party Devs can opt in or out

This to me sounds like MS published games will not have DRM but it's up to 3rd party devs

Not to mention they will continue to look @ these policies & may change them @ anytime

Do the controller converters really work though? And will they here given new wireless technologies? Curious about this, maybe someone has experience from PS3/360.
