Agreed.....Must be what MS is shooting for in the long run. I expect similar situation for PS4.

I think the idea of trading in games you are done with online for money to your account is a great idea. Wish I could do it with my iPad.

Anyway, there is alot to play out here.

Has PS4 confirmed that you do not need to ever be online to play games? For some reason I think this could be a united front....

Apparently because a significant size of your 500 GB HDD is used up on other **** not even related to your games downloads.

Also unacceptable that they're basically going to make you re-buy your XBox Live Arcade stuff, on a system that they've eliminated backwards compatibility with.

What will you have to repurchase?

This is what I'm hoping for. If not most of the type of games I rent are usually on PC, so I'd probably just wait till they are cheaper there.

I don't plan on giving up my 360 yet so I was wondering if anyone knows if I can have both 360 and X1 on xbox live?

NO. You'll have to say goodbye to your Xbox Live Arcade purchases, as outlined by Eagle last night. But entertainment purchases WILL transfer over.

So basically that Hitman: Absolution, NHL 13, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Saints Row 1 & 2 and a few other games I bought, along with some of the short arcade games I've picked up are gone and I would have to re-buy them if I bought this system.

I think its just great that I will have to be online to even play a new game I just bought. Ive been waiting for that restriction ever since I was a little boy.

If Sony just does the opposite of everything the One is doing, they will win.

But are they even going to be available on the One? Since this thing isn't BC it makes sense that the games don't transfer over, but if they're on the "new" Xbox Live anyway then WTF?

I think the biggest concern here should be, are we going to be able record directly to VHS using the cable in feature?

They've already said you don't need to online all the time. Single player can be played offline.

They've already said you don't need to online all the time. Single player can be played offline.

Unless the game itself requires a constant online connection to servers to assist in powering the game and its program.

MS is ramping up the transition into digital only media.

I guarantee that they will be. The 360 wasn't BC either, but they launched their downloadable games section and put XBox 1 (why the hell is this new one called XBox One? It's confusing) games up on it as well as 360 games. PS3 did the same thing. They made a system that isn't BC and then put a section for PS1 and 2 games to be bought.

Even if they don't, it's annoying because they'll eventually turn off your ability to access Live from the 360 and the only way to access your downloaded games and whatnot is will being connected to the Live servers unless you download them to your harddrive.

You still need to connect to the internet once a day to play the game.
