The problem I have with achievements, is that it completely ruins the immersion of the game. Like I said, I wouldn't have a problem if they were things I naturally would want to do. But if I'm immersed in Call of Duty and putting myself in the shoes of a soldier, wtf am I doing shooting out tv's in a station when I should be pushing forward and trying to win the war? And what good does the intel do if no actual intel comes from it, if it doesn't affect the story at all? I just don't see the point I guess.
I have a friend who spends like 80% of the time he plays his PS3 trying to plat every game that he gets. It gets to the point where he has to grind for so long that he starts to lose enjoyment in the game. That's the exact opposite of immersion to me.
See I don't understand the condescending comments like these.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Achievements have ruined how I play video games.
I have nothing against achievements for the record. I don't really like achievements points and "gamer"scores, but I can see why some do. Steam is starting to implement something similar now with the trading cards and user "levels" but at least you actually get useful things from participating in that.Last edited by trobinson97; 06-01-2013, 01:26 PM.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Xbox One
Thats just the reality of my relationship with achievements. Nothing more nothing less.
If other people like them and actively strive for them, ok I been there too I get it (I have bought horrendous games just to add a quick 1000g just look at my gamercard). But I couldnt possibly care any less about them than I do now.Last edited by kingkilla56; 06-01-2013, 02:28 PM.Comment

I wish I could disable achievements. When I see a friend that has like 30,000 all I think is...."Man, that dude has no life".
I'm sure some people look at my 12,000 an think the same.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Re: Xbox One
I've given up on achievements after I hit 100k. They began to bore me. The last year or so I've really stopped and enjoyed gaming so much more.Comment

Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

Re: Xbox One
You can't win with achievments/trophies.
If you have a lot you have "no life."
Only thing is I am fine with having "no life" as long as I am having fun while doing it.Comment
