Also think about is this way. You pay $500 dollars for the Xbox One. Now you have to pay for Xbox Live oh and on top of that you have to pay for an internet service as well. If you fail to do either of those two you will have no enjoyment out of the console you just paid $500 dollars for.

Re: Xbox One
It's yet another case of DRM ruining the experience of legitimate gamers. I really don't like the 24-hour check, even though my orginal Xbox and 360 were always connected to the internet.
The used games thing doesn't bother me that much as I rarely ever sold my games. I did buy some used game, but there will still be used games for the Xbox One(as long as the publisher of a game allows it), so you should be good there depending on who the "authorized retailers" are(I never bought used games from Gamestop as the prices were crazy).
The only thing that would really affect me would be the game rentals and borrowing/lending games from friends. Not sure if MS has a system in place for rentals, I can see it being done with special game licensing discs or something, but don't think I've heard them say anything about it yet. for the borrowing/lending thing, that could be done by using the family share feature, depending on how exactly that works.Comment

Re: Xbox One
You still dont get it. Most people have a connection. They just dont want to need a connection to play the console. You need that for the XB1. Games like destiny dont interest me so that doesnt apply to me but lets say my internet goes out for a week. Maybe I cant play online games like Destiny on my Ps4 but I can play any other game I want. On the XB1, I cant play ANY games.Comment

Re: Xbox One
The idea of being able to play the entire library of up to 10 of your "family" members is not at all intriguing to you? Granted they may not have every game that you want to try, but it would save you $20 a month on those Gamefly rentals.
From what i understand, you can trade in any X1 game if you were the original buyer of the game. Third party developers aren't going to restrict you from doing so if the same game can be traded in on the PS4. I can't imagine that happening.
You are underestimating the effect that these restrictions will have on the XB1 trade in market. 1) A game can only be traded in once. So if I purchase a used game, I cant trade it in for any value after I'm done with it. 2) We have no idea whether companies like Gamestop or Amazon will even be interetsted in having a used game market if there are restrictions on the number of times someone can sell the game and if interest in used games drops on the Xb1 because of the restrictions.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I've explained it to you multiple times. I'm not going to pay 100 bucks more for a system that 90% restricts rented games, requires an online connection to use the console and 90% of the games I play are on the other system too.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Why couldn't Microsoft explain this at E3? I get it that the event is all about the games, but why couldn't they have at least sat down to explain further especially when you're implementing new rules and regulations? Reading through all the pages I have to be a lawyer to understand what cans and can't do this system will allow. All gamers want to do is play games. The talk should be about games and release day. This all makes no sense.Comment

Re: Xbox One
It wont save me 20 bucks. It only saves me 20 bucks if one of my friends (who is willing to add me as a "family member") has one of every game that I'm interested in. I gave you two examples of games THIS YEAR that none of my friends had but that I badly wanted to try out. I cant do that on XB1 if none of my friends have the game.

Re: Xbox One
I broke down and preordered the XB1 Madden25 bundle. Everything that game claims to be is what I've been hoping for all these years.
The only thing that bothers me about the XB1 is the secondary games market. The always-on and connected thing doesn't bother me.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

If Microsoft didn't bundle with the Kinect camera, i think they would price it lower than the PS4. $349 maybe? I think the existing Kinect camera was more than $100.Last edited by AirLobo23; 06-13-2013, 08:04 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
If you want the playstation eye camera, that is a $60 add on. PSplus isn't free. While X1 is still more, keep in mind that the Kinect tech seems pretty darn amazing. I don't think that anyone can argue over the fact that you will be able to do more things with an X1 versus a PS4.
I don't know that many people personally that would really want it though. my nephew used to use it a few times, but in the end he ends up playing games that don't use kinect. My brother actually doesn't even have the kinect connected to his 360 anymore as it ended up never being used. I guess for me, the lack of good kinect games keeps me from wanting to use the kinect.Comment

Re: Xbox One
not sure, the only restriction I know of is when you choose to "give" your game to someone, in which they have to be on your friends list for at least 30 days before the license can transfer, and I assume some action would need to be done by you to initiate it(a menu option on friend list).
